Came with high expectation left disappointed. We've been a guest at almost all GHM managed hotels, The Chedis, and having read that this is a former Alila, we came to expect that level of services and tranquility. We were wrong. As a hardware you may find traces of a hotel meant to embrace traits found in Chedis, but de la paix fails badly in the software. […] You will find staff of the quality commonly found in local chain hotels. I dont know if this was a case of poor training or staffing problem. I felt staff were cold and somewhat lost about SOP. Consistency is an issue. You will see same staff serving breakfast and check-in. Rooms are not uniformly equipped. My sons room was practically without airconditioned throughout the stay. Engineers came but never seemed to be able to fix the AC. Breakfast was about the only we came close to be excited about going. Choices of food were fine though this is not exactly moslem-friendly breakfast. As a hardware, i cant quite understand the main design item dominating the hotel, the stone wall enclosing the inner pool and library whose pond roof makes for 80% of the view from the main entrance. I'm not sure whether to appreciate the stack of rocks or the steel cage enclosing the rocks from falling apart. Quite an eye-sore to see everyday. While the rain shower is there to impress the guest, i find every shower to be inconvenient as it wets the entire bathroom floor incl the wash basin part where i need it dry. We stayed there for the new year's eve. For the celebration, The management converted the hotel into what looks like an overnite passing by local theme park where no guest bothers to risk their children riding on the wheel with the dining experience not much different from the breakfast, multiplied 10x in price, in front of a thai-box ring. I cant quite figure out what to make of the usd150/head new year's dinner. But, there was a nice fire work to close the nite and our disappointing stay. Great hotel and service was flawless. Breakfast very good. The beach is not good but the two fantastic pools make up for it. I word of warning... We stayed in block 6 which is adjacent to the bar area. We were woken at 5 am by the staff emptying bottles and crushing ice and generally chatting rather loudly. Where to start.... PROS: you arrive at the hotel and are welcomed by the hotel manager with a cold drink in one of the most magnificient entrances. FOOD: Fantastic, both Asian and North American, we tried just about everything on the menu and both the presentation and taste were fantastic. BREAKFAST: Unbelieveable, every choice possible and tasted great. […] ROOM: Clean. Designed with cement walls and polished cement floors, 12 ft ceillings, they feel and look clean. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is to die for with a fantastic rain shower and huge. You have the choice of German, English, French, Thai channels on the tv as well as the Apple TV for a choice of movies so it is all covered. POOL AND EXTERIOR: There is an adult pool and a family one as well as a small beach area, with only 70 rms of which 6 have their own pool they were never overcrowded and the only thing that the pool did not offer was to have someone carry you to the water. you lay down and a bottle of water and fresh fruit were brought to you. Relaxing music playing by the adult pool as well as fresh towels. ACTIVITIES: Free Yoga classes offered by the beach on 4 out of 7 mornings as well as 1 - 2 activities planned per day. Every night a schedule for the following day was left in ones rm with the next days activities, some were free and some had a price. Free shuttles to the two nearest towns (Cha-Am) which we found quite boring and (Hin Hua) which we did not see. SPA: Services are allright but then again you can never have expectations as things are different all over the world. The Spa area itself is fantastic and the service was great as well. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We were looking for a place to relax and we extended our stay because it was so fantastic and relaxing. Because there are only 70rms it does not feel overrun and with a mix of couples, gay couples, families everyone seems to be on their own schedule. Lovely location, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Time seem to standstill if you choose not to explore the realm outside. Moments could be spend by the pools, beach and spa. A perfect escape from your daily life.

Overall, the Cha-Am was great. However I would cite two things that were not satisfying: 1. When we order a Caesar Salad, I want to EAT it and feel full; what I do not want to do is have to construct the Caesar Salad myself. Just because the chef sees that on popular TV food programs the current craze is to serve the elements of the salad separately […] and allow the diner to mix the ingredients, this does not mean that I am interested in eating a pretty-looking presentation. Just make the salad for me (for the price, I don't think this is too much to ask), add more ingredients please (it was a bit paltry), and serve it. 2. When my wife and I arrived, we immediately ordered beers and then went out to the beach to sit under a canopy; we waited maybe 10 minutes and still our beers had not arrived. So I walked back to the restaurant and had to remind the waitress (who was sitting in a chair doing nothing) that we had ordered beers. I offered to take the beers back with me so as not to wait any longer, but she insisted that they would deliver them (the beers finally arrived a few minutes later). Maybe this is nickpicking, but after driving all the way from Bangkok, finally arriving at Cha-am, I just wanted to sit on the beach and drink a beer. Why it was so difficult to achieve this (and in low-season when there are very few guests; there were 3 other people out at the beach) is confusing to me. I wish I knew this before I booked the hotel. The Hotel is expensive, not comfortable, and with impolite staff. It was under maintenance, but there was no sign of appologies from the hotel. No compensation for the inconveniance. There was no beach to swim with broken steps to the water. All in all a depressing place with nothing to offer.

I love this hotel . It is very relaxing but don't expect there are too many activities at night. There is only one restaurant in the hotel. If you don't go out to downtown. You have to think about having three meals at the same restaurant for the whole day. The hotel provides shuttle to hua hin downtown but only 2 times a day with limited seats. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The only thing to comment is that it is very isolated. But if you're on a honeymoon or just want to relax it's perfect. The beds are fantastic and even more the pillows. The a/c is a bit too noisy. The shower amazing.

Tout était parfait car nous avions réservé une villa avec piscine mais personne ne nous avait dit que malgré une immense plage superbe de sable fin et une mer chaude avec une eau propre,il est impossible car dangereux de se baigner du fait de la présence toute l'année d'énormes méduses!!!!! La plage est déserte et il n'y a pas une seule personne dans […] l'eau.Pourquoi aller à la mer dans ce cas??? Hotel moderne avec architecture épurée, minimaliste. Très grande chambre (horizon room) de 65m2 avec grande salle de bain et superbe douche ("rain shower") + baignoire. Calme et très confortable. Service impeccable. Petit déjeuner buffet également très bon. Espaces communs vastes, y compris 2 piscines et plage privée.Peut-être un peu trop "design", […] rendant les espaces communs un peu "impersonnels". Relativement cher pour la Thailande, mais séjour très agréable, à recommander dans la zone de Hua Hin - Cha Am. L'hôtel est somptueux, les chambres vastes et très confortables avec de beaux volumes (3,50 m de hauteur sous plafond), les sdb sont magnifiques, et l'équipement multimedia écran plat + Apple TV formidables. Hotellet er en skøn oase, som oser af kvalitet, god betjening, dejlig atmosfære og helt igennem et dejligt sted at holde ferie. Maden er i topklasse med verdens bedste morgenbuffet. Den interne taxa-service sørger for at du kan komme væk fra hotellet og nyde de omkringliggende seværdigheder.

Beautiful hotel but design not totally followed through. Some shortcut in the building were made, especially in the bathroom.. This will probably keep it from becoming a classic. As it is now its stands as a good value hotel for parents with children. Good pool, nice garden, far from the beach, not the exclusive retreat for lovers it could have been. […] To bad and probably why it was cancelled from the Alila group. One point that should be adressed. I went there with my Thai girlfriend and staff insisted on speaking thai when informing the both of us. Even at check-in this happend. The staff need to understand how rude this is to an european. Shuttle service should be to Cha-Am as its a much nicer town than Hua Hin. Make sure that you go to Cha-Am, you will not regret it. C'est un très bel hôtel design d'une conception très originale. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien équipées, avec une hauteur de plafond impressionnante. les salles de bain sont également très spacieuses avec une mention particulière pour la douche. C'est un hôtel bien conçu pour ceux qui recherchent la tranquilité.

Very far away from the town, seem like another world. Very quite, very relax. The Hotel staff is very Hot, very nice, I arrived to hotel at ard 10pm, their staff stand by on the road and welcome us. Hotel room is clean, very big, and the bath room is very very good. the high ceiling and the bed is comfortable! The sound in the room is very great. […] Also, I can enjoy the music in the bathroom. The breakfast is good. Also, their beach is better than other resort in Hua Hin. SPA is great, but a little bit expensive. Anyways, the design of this hotel is very good.
