Centrepoint on Colombo is a comfortable place to stay in Christchurch. The service is quite good with the reception staff a wealth of information in helping you plan your time in Christchurch. Another excellent motel very friendly with everything you need for a short stay. Easy walking distance from the city centre if it was'nt devestated by the earthquakes (Tragic). However the container city, bars and restaurants ( also within walking distance)are a tribute to the Christchurch peoples resolve.

It is sad to see Christchurch in its current state as I saw the architecture and all of grandier before the earthquake. Centre Point is the closest motel to the city center to allow you to see the devastation of the earthquakes and conveniently see the beauty of Hagley Park, which is quite a contrast. The husband and wife owners are very fastidious […] about their hotel and keep it immaculate. The husband in particular is very knowledgeable about Christchurch's current state, maybe even more so than some of the guides paid to do so. Be sure to get that list of restaurants from them as there are very few open these days. Christchurch has suffered over 9000 aftershocks since the original quake in September 2010. The hotel is great but there is no tub or shower enclosure and the shower sprays out over floor, which is kind of weird. Also there is no air conditioning, which is really not needed in Christchurch, except after a steamy shower to get rid of the humidity. This excellent motel is located very close to the devastated city center and can be a bit difficult to find if you are new to the city, due to the many road closures and one-way streets. Several other motels are in the vicinity, as is a very good Indian restaurant. For other food, you will have to drive. Management is very friendly and helpful.

The couple owning this property where really nice and helpful while I was visiting there.

An excellent motel, if I return to Christchurch I'll definitely stay here again.

We stayed here our first night in New Zealand. The manager and his wife were very accommodating and the room was very nice. More character than the cookie cutter chains.

Trevligt motell. Ligger centralt, men p.g.a. jordbävningen i februari var tyvärr hela innerstaden avstängd då vi besökte staden i november 2011. Skulle enligt uppgift vara uppbyggd igen till sommaren 2012.

Stayed twice in this hotel in October for a total of 3 nights. Perfect location, closest open hotel to the red zone. The rooms have all the necessary amenities and are very comfortable. Jeff and Naomi, the owners, are very welcoming and made our stay enjoyable. Will definitely recommend this place !
