"University Inn in Minneapolis"
Right next to the main campus. Older building, nothing fancy but clean and all the rooms had kitchenettes. Disadvantage is that they only have rooms with a single queen size bed.
"Great for Visiting U of Minn"
We chose this hotel because it was close to the Metrodome and cheaper than other hotels in the area for New Year's Eve. The rooms appear to be converted dorm rooms, but they are fairly quiet and clean. The snow plows driving by can be quite loud though. Friends stayed at the University Hotel which was a 'real' hotel and a more pleasant atmosphere with […] local restaurants/bars. We would probably choose the University Hotel next time rather than the University Inn. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Cozy and Comfortable"
I was a little hesitant to book this place since it only had two stars but it was actually perfect for what I was looking for. I didn't need a continental breakfast or a workout room - just a comfortable and safe place to stay. The University Inn was great. It was just two blocks away from a bunch of great restaurants, had ample parking, a secured entrance, […] clean facilities, and a kitchenette. It was also about a block away from the main highway. I was definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable place to stay. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"University Inn in Dinkytown"
We just finished our 3rd stay in the last 12 months. The location is great, nestled between downtown and the University. We really like the small kitchen, so we can have coffee and breakfast in the morning. Very clean, very comfortable, great price. We highly recommend it.

"perfect location for U of Minn"
We stayed here to move our son into his apartment. The location can't be beat. We did hear another guy complain to the front desk about being there three nights and having three different rooms because of problems. For us, it was great.
"Great Location"
Hotel is in walking distance of the University of Minnesota and Dinkytown. With a fridge and cooktop and microwave, you can save money on meals. Not luxurious, but good value.
It was ok for me.
"Much better than "2 stars""
I cringed a little when booking this "two-star hotel" near the U. of Minnesota campus. Thoughts of a seedy Days Inn-type locations danced in my head. But Universtiy Inn is a reminder that just because a hotel doesn't offer a ton of services, doesn't mean it's not top notch. The rooms were very clear and modern (ours even had a kitchenette). The bathrooms […] were also clean and new-looking. The room also passed my hotel water-pressure test (my rule: the lower the water pressure in the shower, the crappier the hotel usually is). Service was friendly, but keep in mind there's no maid service unless you ask for it, and that costs extra. But you can request extra towels for free at the front desk. There was plenty of parking and the location was great. I'm not a U of M alum, but if I was, this strikes me as an ideal place to stay if you're coming to town for a football game. The stadium is only about a 20-minute walk away. There are also plenty of chain and local eateries within walking distance. There were bus lines literally on the corner outside the hotel that take you downtown. There was even a free internet station at the front desk where I could print out my boarding passes for my flight. Don't be dissuaded by your preconceived notions of a 'two-star inn.' The University Inn is a great choice for your stay in Minneapolis อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"University Inn"
We had to request our room be cleaned twice before it was even after we left for 4 hours. That was probably our biggest complaint. There was blood on one of the doors to a room as well when you were walking up the stairs, very visable, very gross. I think this hotel would have been fine for parents coming in to see their university students however […] we came in for a football game. 3 out of 4 cab drivers did not know the address (avenue versus street) so it probably would have been more beneficial to just stay closer. This hotel is not within walking distance of downtown. Front desk person was very nice though. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"University INN MPLS"
Great location for those who have business at the U of M. I stayed 6 days and loved that the rooms offer extended stay amenities.
Nice for what it was, would be really nice for extended stay. Great for college age since very close to U of Minesotta. However, right next to lots of frat houses so has a chance of lots of noise during the school year.

"Okay but doesn't look like a hotel"
It was fine for a budget hotel. Room was clean, smelled freshly painted. Kitchen had fridge, stove top, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, sink, some cook ware and dinner ware. I had a hard time finding this hotel when I arrived after dark. No brightly lit sign. My GPS was correct but I passed it because it looked more like campus housing than a hotel. […] "University Inn" appears on the building but the lights were not working. There is a small unlit sign at the parking lot entrance that was covered in spray painted graffiti. I parked and approached the main entrance but there was no sign identifying it as UI. I was worried it may be a dorm or sorority, which would be bad since I am a middle-aged man. The door was locked and so I pushed a button on the keypad by the door. Nothing. I could see someone at the front desk but she could not hear me with 2 glass doors between us. I found another button to the left of the door that said "Call" so I pressed it and she answered and buzzed me in. It turns out the outer doors are locked automatically between 6 pm and 8 am daily and you need your room key to enter. The desk staff was friendly. The cinder block walls give the place a dorm feel, as did the furniture in the room. The furniture was simple but in good shape. There was a bright fluorescent ceiling light in the kitchen area. The sleeping area had no light except for 2 small desk lamps, one on the desk, one on the night stand. There were plenty of open outlets by the desk!!! The A/C worked well but even on low it was a bit breezy. The bathroom was clean and was stocked with 3 bath towels, a bath mat, 1 washcloth, no hand towel. On the second day I asked for more towels and they were brought to my room a few hours later. Housekeeping service is included only once a week, but the service can be purchased for a small fee. Towel exchange and trash removal is complimentary on request. This info was posted in the room. I would stay at UI again only if I needed to stay by the อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Buyer Beware"
Went to a concert at TCF Bank, and though we could check in and get room keys, we weren't able to get into the room until after the show. Didn't think this would be a problem. We walked back to University Inn after midnight. Nobody was at the main desk when we arrived. Television didn't work. Called main desk 3 times and the calls went to voicemail. […] No follow up from the main desk on messages that were left. Full size refrigerator was dirty on the inside and smelled like rotten food had been left in it in the past. Cover on the toilet tank didn't fit the tank so the lid and seat would not stay open. The room had ants. Ice maker had out of order sign on it which looked like it had been there a while. Any of these things individually are not a huge deal, but collectively made for a negative experience. Location was convenient for us...we were able to walk back quicker than one could drive due to the huge crowd exiting the stadium. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Great except for the LOUD bathroom fan and AC"
The location is great and the staff was very helpful. The bathroom fan sounded like a jet aircraft on the taxiway and the air conditioner could be heard even when wearing earplugs. Granted it was very hot in MN, so we ran the AC at night.
"University Inn in Minneapolis - nice stay"
University Inn is a very nice hotel to stay at if you do not desire a swimming pool or exercise room. It is a great buy because it is a mile and a half from downtown and close to the university. Our room had a comfortable queen size bed and was arranged very nicely. The full size refrigerator, sink, microwave, and stove top were wonderful additions. […] The room also had a round table with two simple chairs for dining and a separate sitting chair for lounging. The room did not have any fancy art work and needed some paint, but we loved staying there. The continental breakfast was not the greatest, but consisted only of juice and a packaged muffin or breakfast bar. I enjoyed the sitting area down stairs that was simple, but very pleasant and quiet. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"UNIVERSITY INN"
VERY NICE. WE STAYED THERE MANY YEARS AGO BEFORE RENOVATION. THEY HAVE MADE MANY IMPROVEMENTS.
"University Inn Minneapolis--quiet & convenient"
We found the University Inn unpretentious, quiet, more than adequate to our needs. Someone wanting splash, dash and lots of additional (and costly) perks and conveniences may want to go to a larger corporate hotel. But we found this one perfect to our needs, within walking distance of restaurants and university-type shops and accessible to the high […] way. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"good hotel near U of Minnesota"
The hotel was quite convenient to the university, and the overall level of service and facility was good. There was a light out next to the bed, the bathtub was not very clean, and there was no wi-fi. There was an ethernet cable, but many new tablets and iPods can't use such cables. That was a bit inconvenient for printing boarding passes, etc. The […] people at the front desk were quite helpful and friendly. Overall, I'd stay there again if the price was right. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"basic hotel - don't expect much from front desk"
Overall, the accommodations were very satisfactory. I was attending a conference at U of M, which was a nice 20-30 minute stroll. The only problem was that it poured the entire time of the conference, and when I tried to get the front desk to call a cab the morning of my presentation, they said they were unable to do so. I called myself, but unfortunately […] the cab never came. I ended up running 1.5 miles in the rain in a suit carrying a computer. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone going to a conference (I had no idea the cabs in Minneapolis were so irresponsible), but if someone were coming for a sporting event and didn't mind getting wet in the case of inclement weather, this would be a good, cost-efficient option. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Convenient Location and Friendly Staff"
I stayed at the University Inn for a concert at the Varsity theater. I was very pleased with the distance from the theater and the whole Dinkytown area. Lots of fun coffee shops and bookstores to enjoy. The Staff was also very friendly, and gave my brother and I great ideas of places in Minneapolis to see and eat at during our visit there. Not to mention- […] there was a kitchen in the room! Great way to save money by bringing your own food to make. I would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to anyone staying near Dinkytown or the University, or anyone driving into the downtown area, which was quite easy to get to from the Inn. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Nice for the money"
The University Inn is clean, efficient and adequate. It is within walking distance to the Gopher stadium, and U of M buildings, which is the important thing as parking can be an issue. We have stayed there 3 times so of course we like it, for a few nights. The rooms have a small kitchenette with microwave, fridge and toaster, etc. In the morning you […] can go down to the front desk and have a juice and prepackaged muffin or granola bar. The drawback is that the heating is noisy (as in many hotels) and the bathroom fan goes on with the light and is very noisy. So bring a flashlight if you don't want to wake others up. Again, if your visiting kids and campus, it's a good choice for the convenience. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"University Inn"
What a nice find! Very convenient when visiting the University - moving my son out of his dorm at the end of the semester in this case. I stayed just one night - but with the kitchen - it would be a great place for an extended stay. It was surprisingly quiet - bed was comfy - flat screen TV with cable - internet access. All in all a great choice.
"University Inn - close to the U campus"
If all you're looking for is an inexpensive room that you're only going to sleep/shower in and that's walking distance to Dinkytown and the U - this is the place for you. No amenities (they advertise a continental breakfast which consists of a cooler of juices and some packaged sweet rolls/granola bars) and room is tiny but functional for just stopping […] in for sleep. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Perfect"
I love this place. We stay here every time we go to Mpls. to see our son at school. It is so convenient to his dorm on West Bank and Dinky Town. The beds are great. It can be a bit noisy at night if the windows are open, but we have learned to keep them shut and use the A/C in the warmer months. They say that there is a continental breakfast, but it […] consists of packaged pastries and canned juice. We don't eat that because we opt for the Purple Onion down the road. It's perfect. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"The University Inn"
My wife and I spent a weekend at this hotel. The beds and pillows were fantastic and made for a very comfortable night sleep. The location directly off of Hwy 35 made it easy to get to places by car and the hotel was walking distance to 'Dinky Town'. Our room was missing some items from the kitchenette & bathroom. The bathroom floor was not cleaned. […] The staff was very responsive and friendly. Even though the hotel sits on the corner of 2 busy intersection the room was reasonably quiet. I would stay here again. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"University Inn"
The hotel was staff was extremely helpful and pleasant and the room was clean. However, the bed was just a little uncomfortable, good pillows though. The bus stop for downtown is right by the hotel, which is quite convenient and the price was reasonable.
"It's an extended-stay residence hall for students"
We were in town for a weekend conference at the University of Minnesota and we booked here because of the location. It felt very much like staying in a college dorm, but the rooms were very nice, roomy, had a small kitchen area and a full-sized refrigerator. Security was relatively good, and it was a good location. I would stay there again because of […] the location and price, but it's basically a place to sleep and get some work done, not a place to stay on vacation. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"University Inn Minneapolis"
It's a cheap hotel you can't expect a lot. Hotel room could have been a little cleaner (Some trash on carpet under cupboards) nothing nice provided for drinking from in the kitchen area. It was a bit of a trek to the restaurants near the uni and I didn't really know my way around. Also it was a little far to walk for the Vikes game, but hey I should […] have booked earlier :) Anyway a cheap hotel that was what you can expect for the price. ie, not much. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Great Stay!"
The staff was very friendly, everything was clean, the kitchenette was great to have (we brought food to cook - saved us money!), and the room was very quiet. VERY comfortable beds and pillows. Rooms very simple, but I couldn't have wanted anything more - GREAT PRICE and over all experience! :) They even let us keep our car there during the Packer/Viking […] game even though we had checked out - it was about a 20-30 minute walk to the Metrodome. This helped us avoid all the aftergame chaos. Twenty minutes from Mall of America - easy to get to! อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Since it's located on the U of M campus, it was almost like checking into a dorm, but it was very clean and a spacious room. Nice kitechette, large bathroom and desk. Wish they would have had a a king size bed, but the queen worked fine for us. Only a few blocks away from college restaurants and bars and very close to downtown Minneapolis and the Metrodome. […] We were there to attend a Vikings game and it worked great. A 25 minute walk or $8 cab ride each way. Definitely recommend it! อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Motel close to college and minutes away from all of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Very favorable stay with good bed, re-frig, stove, microwave, and all necessary utensils needed to cook and eat in room. Would definitely stay here again when visiting the Twin Cities. Morning breakfast is very minimal so plan on eating elsewhere for all meals if you don't […] bring your own food. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Clean, safe and affordable lodging near U of M"
I selected this hotel primarily because of its proximity to TCF Bank Stadium, its low cost relative to surroudning hotels, and its free parking (a real plus after I discussed the parking rates at other nearby hotels with my friends who had also come for the same football game). The place was spacious, clean, quiet and welcoming. I was not expecting, […] nor did I want oppulent furnishings and amenities. I simply wanted an affordable place to stay for a football game that was clean, safe and close to the action. It satisfied all my criteria and I would definitely return there. The bonus was the kitchenette that would have allowed for some private "tailgating" activities if large crowds in other locations were not liked, and there was the ability to refrigerate the food and beverages. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
