My wife booked me a "writer's overnight" to do some work on my novel and it was the perfect get away. The staff was phenomenal, loved the food and pub and the room was great. I plan to bring my whole family back. A great New England get away.

Normally when visiting UNH we stay in Portsmouth but this time we wanted to stay closer to campus. The 3 chimneys was a great choice. Very nice room and full breakfast. The Inn is also close to New Market NH which is a cool little town on the Great Bay which we were able to explore for the first time.

Very historic and charming inn. Bed was comfortable, but pillows were horrible! The fold-out couch was falling apart and extremely uncomfortable. Dinner in the tavern and breakfast were very good, setting is charming.

Overall the hotel is fine. Clean. The staff tries to be very friendly. The rooms have a few pretty furnishings. But it has touches, like cheap fiberglass shower stalls and dime store art on the walls, that you will not find at most upscale New England bed and breakfasts. We have stayed here before since our grandaughter goes to UNH and it is very convenient. We love the ambiance of the rooms and the breakfast in the morning is quite good. Everyone is very friendly.

This hotel was absolutely amazing - the stay with them was great, the staff were very friendly and the room lovely. the whole area is beautiful and worth a visit on the Amtrak Downeaster. A great place to stay and be made to feel welcome and a very romantic setting.

Being this is an extremely antiquated building, the rooms are not as comforatable as modern day hotels, so one needs to manage their expectations when staying here. The room we stayed in was poorly lit; the walls are thin so you could hear the conversations in the room next door, and with the wood floors, you heard the guests upstairs walking and moving […] chairs. Although we have stayed in the area numerous times since our grandaughter is a student at UNH, this is our first time at The Three Chimneys Inn. Wonderful place to stay. If you enjoy some old school New England history, definitely check this place out. Our room was super comfortable, staff was lovely, and breakfast was phenomenal. The price was better than the local big chain hotels and the overall experience was much more satisfying.

The staff are extremely flexible. We needed to be at a sport tournament at 7am on a Saturday. They asked a wait staff and chef to come in a bit early so that we could get breakfast.

My wife and I had not been to UNH in 13 years. We went to the UNH hocket game and stayed at TCI. Very nice and cozy. Enjoyed the fireplace in the lobby, nice and warm. Room was very nice, comfortable and clean. Nice extras in the room too. Room was a bit cool though, but it was extremely cold outside.

well conserved historic hotel in a nice location. The old burial view and the ghost history are an extra value. Just take care to avoid the weddings and other celebrations that can be a little noisy and annoying... Also the breakfast isn't so "full", but overall very good hotel.

I was very satisfied with our stay, the hotel is exactly what you expect based on the description and website. The only thing I would mention is that I felt the room we got was given to us because we booked through expedia. We enjoyed our stay at the Three Chimneys Inn very much. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable. My husband and I stayed at the inn for our 30th wedding anniversary. It did NOT disappoint us. The breakfasts were delicious: omelets, french toast, fresh fruit and juice, breakfast sandwiches, and bacon and eggs. The waitresses were very sweet and welcoming. Our room was spacious, quiet, and charming. We will return again very soon!

If you enjoy nostalgia and a little "living in the past", this is the place to be. Three Chimneys is nestled in a quaint, out-of-the-way neighborhood. Might be difficult to find without a GPS but well worth the search. Three Chimneys has character and charm. Elegant, peaceful, tranquility would best describe the atmosphere. Pleasant surroundings, courteous […] staff, and lots of private places to sit or stroll around the grounds. The only thing missing were the horse drawn carriages. Elegant dining facilities. Modest but well-prepared breakfast served on China dishes with silver tableware (no plastic forks, paper cups, or styrofoam plates!). Three Chimneys reminded us of a large Bed and Breakfast. The huge four-post beds are insanely high off the floor but the unusual height poses no problem with the foot stool provided for climbing in and out. I requested that the bed linens be laundered with unscented detergent. It didn't happen. The bed reeked of perfumed detergent that was so unpleasant I couldn't sleep. I asked at the front desk about my request the next morning, and, while she was very nice....and showed me that she had done her job....noted my request in my reservation....housekeeping […] had not done their job. At no time was there an apology. It seemed her concern was about covering her - - -. I think this is an issue that smaller inns and B& Bs need to address. Hotels don't use perfumed detergents. As we Americans move away from chemicals toward green, clean environments, this is something that many people find unacceptable......any one out there agree....? These folks went out of their way to accomdate three of us (my wife and I with our teenage daughter). They upgraded our room at no extra charge so my daughter could be more comfortable. This is what you hope for when you stay someplace like this, but you rarely get such nice folks and genuine caring.
