This "establishment" is simply not a hotel it is more like a down at heel hostel.I have travelled extensively and this is the worst place I have ever stayed.I understand the "you get what you pay for" argument when it comes to an expensive city like New York. We were staying on the 5th floor, the rooms were the size of a closet ! We couldn't even open our door fully because of the bed ! No space at all and we were two in the room. never recommend this hotel for future stay in new york. no elevator, only 2 bathooms for the entire 5th floor, poor maintenance, very unsanitary. wifi not readily available as advertised. no staff to help lift my baggages to the 5th level. overall i dont like this hotel at all.

3 night stay here, while apartment hunting. I was very apprehensive after reading all the negative reviews on here. I took my own blankets and towel as per the reviews on here, but when I got there the ones they provided seemed good enough. Still used my own, just because I brought them. I stayed in a 1 bed room and the 1st floor, and it's pretty small. […] Pretty much dorm style living. There is a flat screen TV and small stand on 1 wall, with a full size bed. There is also a wall attached fan. If you bring anything bigger than a standard carry-on, you will probably have to open it on the bed as there isn't enough space in the room. The walls are paper thin. If someone coughs in the next room, it sounds as if they're in your room. I brought earplugs, but didn't end up using them. I just turned on the fan, and it drowned out all hotel noise. The overall cleanliness of the hotel and room were decent. Don't expect the Ritz Carlton, and you will be satisfied. There were 2 shared bath/showers on my floor. Can get a little busy during morning peek hours. Bathrooms were clean enough for me. Plenty of hot water, but pressure is a bit low. Good enough to get you clean. I basically used this room to sleep at night, after a full day of apartment hunting. For the price, it's hard to beat. If you are a high maintenance person, it's probably not the place for you. If you are looking for a great value with minimal comforts, I'd recommend this hotel. Frankly it was not a bad place to sleep for the night. My problem was a different one. I am a Senior with multiple health problems. I booked the hotel as it was close to few sights. But the hotel rooms are tiny as well as not at all clean. Please don't visit that hotel looking at it's price or close to sight seeings. The bathroom is not at all clean. In future, I won't recommend anyone to this hotel.

extremely small room, shared bathroom, the walls were so thin that you could hear everything from the other rooms (not only the one next to you, but from the one from the other side of the hallway). If you're desperate enough and looking for something cheap, then this is definitely for you. It's cramped, you share one shower with everyone else on that floor. The food around there is ok, it's all Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and if you're willing to walk around Little Italy is a couple of blocks down. My stay in NYC was a nightmare. First of all the room (If you can call it that) was not ready I had to wait 1:30 to get it down .. and then they did not have it anymore and ask me to get one near the lobby. Big mistake. I went to this hotel knowing that it was supposed to be bare bones, clean and no frills. What I got was a hotel that was run down, kind of scary and the rooms were the size of shoe boxes. I could touch all four walls when laying down. The walls were more like partitions, and they weren't soundproofed at all. From 12:30-2:30am someone decided to have a phone conversation and even with earplugs I couldn't sleep.

The hotel was re-named by my husband and I as a "Notel" because we would never recommend it to anyone of our family and friends. In addition to it being a walk-up making trudging one's luggage problematic, the hotel staff was not very professional causing much confusion with our credit card. A lot problem came out at night time they have a hot water pipe make noice the whole 24 hours, I did not get good sleep plus you can hear to Avery one thrue the floor, it is actually the one I never will come back. I do not believe this hotel pass the city code regulations to operate.

There is no elevator so you have to walk up 6 flights with your heavy luggage. But that doesnt matter because your luggage wont fit in your room. There is just a bed inside a space the size of a closet. It smells like urine everywhere. There are no flat screen tvs with HBO, just tiny tube tvs that dont get any channels just fuzz.

It needs carpetting to muffle the sound of the water pipe, footsteps on the corridor, conversation at the frontdesk, etc. The room is stuffy, the ceiling between the 6 rooms is open, the air in the 6 rooms is shared by six occupants.

Im not very picky about the place I sleep in when travelling but this place was def. the worst I ever stayed in so far.. And I have stayed in few places including hostels.. Bathrooms were disgusting, hardly any pressure in showers, our room was big enough just for a bed and thats it (seriously)- no window, no drawers or closet, nothing, just 4 walls […] and door, it felt like in the Harry Potter's broom closet. Yes there was a TV stuck on the wall but there were like 6 channels on it.. There was also this really annoying customer constantly complaining about a clean sheets and blanket she should have got and never did and our room was right next to the reception so we heard everything including threats to call the police from both the woman and the receptionist..
