The Resort on Mount Charleston - Mount Charleston

The hotel is old but it is clean. We went there for the location not the hotel. The restaurant served us great meals and the prices were reasonable considering that this is the only restaurant in the neighbourhood. The only problem we had was the wireless internet service was slow.

We arrived late and left early, but the stay was very nice and we plan to return again when we have more time. Even with the late arrival we were able to get a bite to eat at the bar (dining room had closed). Room was small but very comfortable. Note, if you were looking for a place to stay in or near Pahrump, the lodge comes up in the search, but, […] be ware, you cannot get there from here and must go through Las Vegas. It is and old hotel, some parts are remodeled, room was ok, bathroom looked old but clean, staff was friendly, no swimming pool, thin walls but definitely a wonderful environment, nice view and a great place to skii, hike, cycle etc. Be sure to have enough gas and buy your personal needs, no stores or gas stations near.

Hotel staff was very helpful. The rooms are ok but a little dated. There is no elevator so if you can't climb stairs be sure to request a ground floor. Beautiful area and a short drive to the ski lodge.

The hotel is priced very reasonable and the staff is very helpful. The location is convenient to Lee Canyon for sledding, snow boarding, and skiing. It's a great vacation for Las Vegas locals, but I suggest if you're from out of state and think that Vegas is just about gambling please check out the mountain views and parks.

Hotel was in a beautiful spot...surrounded by mountains.Staff was very friendly and helpful. Outside of hotel and common areas were very nice. The room itself left a little to be desired. No table in the room to eat or work at. Furniture was cheap and kid of falling apart. Bed was comfortable, though. I also resented paying a "resort fee" even though […] I didn't use any ammenities...didn't even see any. This is a really nice Mt. lodge/hotel that is off the beaten track up a slowly rising two lane road on the way to Mt. Charleston. It is a delightful place, a nice diversion from the frenetic pace of the tourist ridden Las Vegas strip and enirons. The hotel is clean, nice, and quiet. The staff was friendly and professional. There is one big problem if you need to get internet access. They use a satellite dish for all its TVs and internet. There is simply not enough bandwidth. So before midnight, the internet is completely useless.

beds were to hard.. like sleeping on a board .. doors to rooms have huge space on bottom and top of the doors.. no privacy..here all noise going on outside of the rooms.. had to put towel at bottom of door so no one could look under it ..

The Resort on Mount Charleston has a great location not far from Las Vegas. The rooms were OK, a bit noicy aircondition. The bar in the hotel was very noicy with high music, and we did not spend any time there due to the level of high music. The outside sourrondings were fantastic and the food in the restaurant was OK

This hotel is amazing! Its about 40 minutes from the strip and usually 20 degrees cooler. It may be hard for newcomers to find but well worth the visit! I love it and we will be returning. Every room has a great view. Waking up and seeing mountains instead of city was great.

Twenty minutes from the Vegas metro highway system. It snowed while I was there-nice. Third week in March. If you like out of the way and cooler summer tempatures this is the place.p

I checked in at 7pm, but the clerk continued to answer the phone as opposed to waiting on me... a new guest who was physically present. This almost made me too late for the last restaurant seating at 7:30pm. I had to rush to my room on the 3rd floor, lay everything on the bed and rush back down 3 flights of stairs to the dining room. Dinner was very […] good. It was quite busy and the staff had to run.. no exaggeration. When I returned to my room, it was cold, I turned the heat up...still didn't warm it up. Finally turned it up to 85... ( I never have my heat that high), kept my coat on and got busy with emails, but finally realized it was not warming up in the room. Got up to check it out, and found not only was the heater not working, but there was an almost half-inch gap on the right side of the door to the outside and COLD wind (20's-30's) was BLOWING in. I climbed down 3 flights to the front desk. Told the same clerk the problem... he was most apologetic and started to change me to another room on the same floor, when I stopped him and asked to check it out first. So he and I climbed up 3 flights and found the new room to be smaller and with 2 beds rather than 1 king as I had requested, but was warm and no blowing wind. Went back down 3 flights and clerk was set to give me the new key... I said I would need both to be able to change my things over to the new room. He said I could do that and then bring the key back down. I stopped him, and said, look, I'm almost 60 and going up and down 3 flights of stairs (no elevators) is not my cup of tea. I said I would leave the old key in the room when I finished. Didn't get to bed till after midnight. Unable to get up in time for breakfast, so checked out a few minutes after 11. When the new clerk asked me about my stay, I told her the problem with the cold wind blowing in, and she said... oh yes, other guests have complained about that. I said, well it needs to be fixed! It was very nice 1 day gateway trip from Las Vegas. I and my boyfriend enjoyed being in nature. Bartender lady there were very nice. Restaurant were too busy. Even though we had a reservation we couldn't get a table the time we choose, so we canceled, but it was not big problem. We had a breakfast there at the restaurant. It was huge dishes and taste […] was OK. Our waitress was nice enough but she forgot to give us a pen for check and she never came back, so we had to go to front desk to borrow a pen. We had a great time for my birthday just relaxing and spending time with friends. The hotel was perfect for wanting to relax, just like we did.

It was a nice hotel ... no pool though. Nice restaurant. 20 degrees cooler than vegas so that can be a good thing depending on what time of the year it is. Great hiking nearby too. :)

It was wonderful seeing the Strip during the day and resting in the mountains during the night. We had peace and tranquility in the mountains. Clear sky and clean air. Delicious breakfast at the loge further up the mountain. Absolutely will return.

Hotel was very nice, clean, and the view surrounding the hotel was breathtaking. If you want a relaxing experience not far from Las Vegas, this is the place to go. The staff was very nice and pleasant to guest member. The restaurant lack few staff members to make their service deliver more efficient but the food was good.

Room was not very nice at all, missing a sink, carpet was dirty. Next to a group that was blasting music and screaming at 7 am. Walls were thin. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you have to be there for a wedding or convention.

This is a rustic mountain hotel about 35 minutes away from the strip near Las Vegas. Well worth the drive if you are averse to the downtown Las Vegas action. The setting is beautiful, about 20 miles up the mountain. The air is clean and much cooler than in the city proper. The rooms were pretty small and there was no staff in some of the shops to buy drinks or snacks, One night the wind came up and it was so loud and the door rattled all night. Overall it was an ok stay and we got a great deal but i would have never paid full price. There is a $6.95 resort fee too.

Overall we really enjoyed this hotel. However, there were a number of things the hotel really dropped the ball on that could have made our experience there fantastic. For instance, the additional resort fee didn't make sense and only made us feel nickel and dimed just walking in the door. The phone in the room didn't work, the internet was very slow […] and unreliable, there was only one coffee condiment package with one cream, one sugar. Two decafs but only one regular coffee provided. ??? Shampoo but no conditioner. The water pressure in the shower was very slight so it took way too long to shower/rinse. And probably the worst thing was that no one told us (and there was no sign on the inside of the room) that the room key must be inserted into a slot in order for the A/C to work. We woke up at 3am with the room very uncomfortably warm. I couldn't call to the front desk because the phone didn't work. I walked down there and could not find the attendant. After almost giving up, I found her asleep on the couch in the lobby. She did tell me then about inserting the key and we were then able to get the A/C in the room to work. That experience was totally unfortunate and made our stay extremely uncomfortable. The restaurant was very good and the prices were moderate. The service there was excellent. The setting is gorgeous and our room was very nice with granite countertops and modern furniture/bedding. We were there on a Saturday night and there was no music or anything. The place was very quiet and it seemed almost empty and boring. A little bit of music would have gone a long way. As we were checking out and leaving on Sunday, there was a band just setting up outside. Go figure ??? The view and the location was beautiful and convenient. However, just the little things that add comfort, like an in-room fridge (there was a place for it, but no fridge) and a chair to sit in really affected my rating. We had neither. The safe did not work and when we called the front-desk, they called maintenance who did not know how to make it work. […] For an 8.00 resort charge, we didn't get what we paid for. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant served a decent supper and very good breakfast. The bed was too soft for our comfort. If you just want a decent place to stay for the night this will do.

This was the perfect place for me and for my wife during our 10 days in the Las Vegas area. We loved its cool, mountainous location -- away from the lights and the heat of Las Vegas in June and July. Wondeful place to stay out of the heat of Las Vegas. Nice mountain with lots of walking opportunities and only 1 hour from the evening fun in Vegas.

It was a nice get away from Vegas. The front desk staff was less then friendly, and the food in the restrant was not good. The rooms and the Spa was great. The restrant up the hill by the cabins was great.

The Resort is located between the rudged hills and its a picturesque location. It's away from the city and serene without any noises. If you on leisure and want to be away from Lag vegas crowd this is the best place to stay for 2/3 nights.

This is a great hotel to choose if you are looking to escape the bright lights and Las Vegas energy! It is nestled amongst mountain ridges, and the joy of seeing the moonlit night sky and the sunlit morning sky are worthwhile! The staff is very friendly, and you will feel personally welcome, almost like it is home. There are no elevators, be advised. […] The location is remote and the kitchen closes early, so don't expect that you can just run out to get what you might have forgotten. There are no late meals, so plan ahead. You will see areas where the staff could do better by cleaning some public areas a bit better, but overall this is a very calm place and a great bargain! The Resort is very nice in the off-ski season. Its roughly 25 degrees cooler than Las Vegas. I stayed two nights and did three hikes on Mt. Charleston. Most of the trailheads are within 4 miles. Nice comfortable hotel, with lounge and restaurant on property. Close to hiking. Nice to get out of the city and enjoy the scenery.

Being from Vegas, it's always a bit weird to stay at a hotel. We were back in town for a wedding and chose the Mt Charleston resort due to its proximity to the in-laws. What a nice surprise. In addition to the great rate, the room was comfortable and the food in the restaurant vastly improved from the last time we were there. Watch out for the sneaky resort fee. Even though the hotels.com website advises of the possibility of one, we were lead to believe at check-in that it was already included in our prepaid reservation. Each and every staff member was wonderful to deal with. The electricity went out around 9 pm Friday night due to a storm. The on duty staff then had […] significant problems getting the standby generator doing, and apparently a maintenance person had to be called in from home to get the generator going, and this took some time. A better idea would be to check the generator regularly, perhaps weekly or semimonthly, to make sure it is in tip top operating condition, and easy to start at any time of day or night by any key on duty staff member. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
