Gulfside Motel - ซาราโซตา

My main goal was to sit on the beach, read and be able to walk to restaurants Gulfside Motel was ideal. I am a long distance runner, too, and the road the motel is on ends at a beachside park. Very safe area! I almost don't want this modest place to be too well known:)

While this Motel was old Florida with a great location, I would not stay there again. No one in office to give me key. Had to wait for Manager to return. The linens were so old and pilled it was like sleeping on pebbles, pillows flat and the matress springs in your back., completed the nightmare. Rusty refridgerator and stove, saggy couch. I understand it was inexpensive and across from the beach, but we have stayed in many other old Florida motels, in the same area for close to the same amount and were not displeased. This accomodation was great; if you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay in a prime location with very clean linens, bathroom, & kitchenette, look no further. We had a very pleasant stay and intend to return. Added bonus: room has old Florida charm w/ terazzo floors and turquoise shower tiles.... love it! Can't be in any better location at this […] price. Never seen or heard from any motel employee our whole stay. No housekeeping service offered, we even had to take out our own trash as we left. Nice location to beach & eateries. Probably will not return.

Our stay at the Gulfside Motel was fine. We were in town for a weekend of recreation at the Myakka River State Park and needed a place with easy access to the car for all our gear and also wanted an efficiency unit for quick meals and re-heating our leftovers. We were able to park our bikes out front of our room and had no problem making the short walk […] to the beach as well. We also walked to St. Armands Circle to check out the shops and dine. The Gulfside is adequate if you just need a quiet place to sleep. Yes, the bed could have been more comfortable but that would be my only complaint. You really can't beat the price and if you plan on venturing out during the days then this is a fine place to use as home base. What a dump! Dirty room, no maid service, the manager was unpleasant. I asked for more towels but they don't do that. I got one stained towel for the bath and two beach towels for 5 nights. You could see through the sheets they were that thread bare and pilled. The pillows and mattress were so old they must have dated back to the 70's. Electric was […] sketch with no plug in the bathroom and a really old wall unit for air conditioning. The location was nice but I would not stay there again.
