Upon entering the room w/ sleeping children & tucking them in we discovered there was urine in the toilet & it was not flushing. The stench was very unpleasant, don't know how long it had sat there. I flushed it manually reaching inside the tank but then the handle broke off! To top it off that night my wife had an upset system from the food she ate […] & needed a functioning toilet badly! Could we have switched rooms upon arrival? Certainly, but we couldn't have foreseen how desperate of a situation it would turn out to be, we had two little ones fast asleep--one being in a port-a-crib, & i figured we were only here for one night (ten hours max). A bitter cold and snowy October day brought down snow that brought down the power. With no hot water , no electricity, and no phone we needed to find warmth. After a ton of phone calls and hope waning , we were told the Mircotel had room. That's when our magical journey began. Hard to follow that intro but I'll try. There are no ammenities to the hotel […] from a family standpoint but the place had free WiFi , Continental Breakfast and the hardcore journalism you can only get from USA Today. This hotel is very comfortable and in a good location. The check in was fast and easy. Staff was friendly but the towels were small and rough. The club across the street was opened until 4 AM and the music was so loud that it kept us up until early hours of the morning. The music and bass was easy to hear from the front of the building.

we were attending a wedding locally and needed economical, comfortable accomodations. Everything was very good witht he exception of a disco with a very loud bass playing until very late. I don't think it was even in the hotel but it was annoying. Other than that go for it you won,t be dissapointed

good value. the lady on the midnite shift, on the nite we checked in was wonderful, and very helpful. clean hotel

The hotel looks new, the room is spacious with a bay window seat. The big vanity mirror across the wall behind the beds with recessd lights is great! All of the towels need more bleach since they looked greyish-white. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. Manager and staff were friendly and helpful. It was located near our destination which we were thankful since Hurricane Irene was coming close.

Easy to get to and a great stop over on our long trip. Walking distance to several chain restaurants. Rcommended.

This may seem like a small thing, but the reading light in the room was wonderful. When probing the pages of my book, I'm not looking for sultry, mood lighting - and at this motel the light was bright. Thanks.

I stay at this hotel when the other ajoining hotels have no room The rates are low ,but the walls are thin and you can hear yor neighbors.

Great stay. Continental breakfast could use some work. The hot water was cold and the bagels were put out frozen. I guess that's what you get for for free.

The hotel was surrounded by several restaurants within walking distance, all of which I liked. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel was close to major highway, 3 major restaurant chains in the parking lot! 5 minutes from a large mall, and the train station! We stayed here to go to woodburry commons outlet and a day train trip to NYC. The one thing I read before going was the rooms had thin wall and I have to say I kind of agree. Charged us an exorbitant fee for our toy poodle; otherwise, an excellent stay

We stayed in this hotel for one night. I expected it to be moderately clean but was pleasantly surprised that it was extremely clean. No smell, no stains, etc. The bathroom was very clean as well. The A/C unit may have been a bit too loud but whatever, it's a hotel! The breakfast menu and taste is subjective. Personally I didn't like it but I'm not […] docking marks for that. The rooms were very small with about 2ft clearance on either side of the beds. The previous occupants had clearly been smokers as our room was heavily perfumed to kill the smoke odor. On our first night's stay, there were dogs barking continuously in other rooms and a lot of loud hallway activity after hours. The second night the dogs had left only […] to be replaced by a party going on in the room next door. Our complaints to the manager at 4am eventually got them moved to another room. This hotel was easy to find and conveniently located - breakfast was expanded continental - very fresh and nice - coffee in room was tasty! Good value for the cost!

My room (a 1 bed suite) was on the small side but perfectly adequate for two on a long weekend. Staff was friendly, and the hotel seemed well kept and clean. We were travelling out of town each day and only coming back at night to sleep so hard to comment on the neighborhood, but the restaurants within walking distance were convenient.

All in all I had a good stay at the hotel. The room was very clean, as was the hotel and the staff was very courteous. My only complaint was that I could hear patrons in the room above us walking and the walls allowed for excessaive noise to enter the room.

enjoyable stay, would stay again for sure. Loved having 3 major choices for food w/ in walking distance.

Always enjoy this convenient Microtel' with TGIF - OUTBACK & CHILI'S very nice & now with a very good Blue Martini next door excellent' & Middletown OTB & Galleria only minutes away' ONLY slight minus - Room 308 a nip teeny''' all in all another very nice stay & treated well by all the staff'''''''

HI WE HAD THE SUITE. IT WAS NICE WITH FRIDGE AND MICROWAVE AND FREE HBO AND INTERNET. ONLY THING WE DIDN'T LIKE WAS THE THIN WALLS BETWEEN ROOMS. WE ACTUALLY HEARD THE NEXT ROOMS RADIO ALARM BUZZING AS IF IT WAS NEXT TO US. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS CLOSE TO FOOD AND MALL AND AND ANOTHER TOWN OF ANYTHING YOU NEEDED.

Hotel room smelled like smoke. Smoke free hotel? Used the accessible room. Very impressed with bathroom.

The check in was quick and friendly, the room was small but concise. It was all you need for a stopover. i would recomend this hotel,

Being a new hotel I expected the furnishings to be a little more modern. Also I did notice that in my bathroom the cups to rinse your mouth were from the Days Inn. I booked this hotel to avoid the regular days inn that I usually stay at and received the same type of hotel. All in all it was ok, don't think I will be staying there again.

Great deal for the money. Clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet.

Not a bad hotel to use if you're on a budget, need somewhere safe and clean - and do not care to stay across the street at a more expensive hotel.

I arranged to stay at the Microtel in Middletown based on reviews found on this site. The reviews did a great job of providing a clear and correct interpretation of the hotel. The agent behind the counter when I arrived was very courteous. He was able to look up my reservation without having to produce my documents. He offered me the choice of a room […] either on the 1st or second floor. When I got to the room and brought my luggage in I was pleasantly surprised with the condition with the cleanliness and the available furniture. The room was furnished with a desk, although no chair, and a window side bed in addition to the queen size bed. Good price, great service, comfortable bed and pillows, bathroom clean and roomy. VERY handy to the shopping and meetings I was there to attend.

Convenient location, best rates, pet friendly, walk to resturuant. Room was spot on and staff was effecient, friendly and willing to reslove issues.

The hotel is well located with easy access and plenty of restaurants around. It is clean and well maintained. We stayed 4 in the room (2 adults and 2 kids) and it was reasonably comfortable. our only complaints are the comfort of the bed and pillow (not very comfortable) and the sub par quality of the bathroom that has too much pastic. Spent 2 weeks here recently after a small disaster at the house. We stayed in 3 different rooms, a single queen, a double queen and also a suite with Kitchenette. All 3 rooms were nice and clean and the rates are unbeatable. The staff was mostly friendly (there was one front desk person who was upset by the fact that I booked through Hotels.com, minus […] one star). The cleaning service is great and our room cleaned and made up daily. The free continental breakfast is a plus, but they need to get smaller bread because it doesn't fit in the toaster. You have to toast half of your bread and then flip it over and toast the other half :-) I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family looking to stay in the area. It's also within walking distance of Chili's, Outback Steakhouse and TGI Fridays. Oh and there is free Internet but connectivity was sketchy. This hotel was one of the nicest hotels I've ever been in. Very clean lobby. Front desk personnel was friendly. Hallways were nice and quiet. My room was right in front of the elevator and I still didn't hear the in and out of the guests. As soon as I walked in my room I was surprised to see how big the room was. I was just expecting a bed and a bathroom, […] but I guess they gave me a suite even though that's not what I booked. I'm definitely not complaining about that! The room was very nice and it was super clean. The continental breakfast had a lot to choose from. From different brands of cereal, to bagels, toast, waffles, muffins, pastries, coffee, and juices. They even had a toaster and microwave to heat up or toast your breakfast. I also loved how it was surrounded by famous restaurants and bars like, Chili's, T.G.I Fridays, Outback Steakhouse, and Blue Martini. They're all literally across the hotel's parking lot. I needed a hotel room for a one night stay, arriving in the evening. I would definitely recommend staying at the Microtel. The room was nice and had everything I needed- comfortable bed, internet access, clean bathroom and a cozy feel. Other reviews mention that the room is small, which it is, but I did not feel cramped. The buffet breakfast was good […] also- nice to go down for coffee, juices, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, toaster waffles and danishes. The staff was friendly also. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this hotel. We are already planning our stay for our vineyard tour next year! We heard the rooms were small, but they were perfect, clean and the staff was very helpful. They're bigger than hotel rooms in Europe and on cruise ships that 's for sure! The Microtel Hotel and Inn in Middletown, New York was extremely clean and although the room was small it was adequate and a good value. The only problem was that even on the second floor, the room was extremely noisey with parking lot and adjoining room partying. It seemed as if the soundproofing was insufficient.

If you are looking for a decent pool to relax after shopping then this is a great choice. Restaurants are in walking distance. I would stay here for the Black Friday shopping again.
