Empress Hotel - สวน Asbury

i needed a clean, convenient hotel for my overnight stay in asbury park, as i was going to a show at the stone pony. i am originally from this area, so i knew where everything was situated and where i hoped to stay. i knew the empress was within a block, so i searched for rates and reviews. hotels.com had it listed for about 1/2 the standard rate for […] the date i needed - friday march 9 2012. what a great deal! the staff was very friendly, the room was clean and roomy enough, the tv stations were local cable as opposed to 27 different ESPNs and CNN's, and i had an ocean-view room! i was in jersey shore heaven. i did not go to the nightclub - it was literally a place to hang out and sleep - but i was given complimentary drink cards just in case. there is a bagel place directly across the street, which was most convenient the next morning. because my stay was so short, i cannot honestly say if this is a family-friendly hotel, but if you are cool and open to the diversity of this revitalized town - go for it! i am coming back to asbury park in april and again in june, for 2 more shows at the stone pony, but alas - the seasonal rates will apply so i won't be able to afford it. if budget is no object, please stay at the empress! i would love to stay in a corner suite with ocean view sometime....be sure to ask for an ocean view room, so you can open up your balcony door and bask in the glory of the sea air and listen to the sounds of the lapping waves - when cars arent driving below ;) i will stay there again, probably off-season, but i 100% recommend this awesome gem! อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Just be aware it is dated and can be noisy at night. I found it to be comfortable, service oriented and a great location. I've even booked another visit!

We had a couple's getaway in Asbury Park, which has really come a long way in the last few years. The music scene is terrific and there are some great shops and restaurants to visit there. Even though it was March and too cold to walk on the Boardwalk, we still enjoyed being near the ocean. During the summer it will be even better there. The Empress […] is in a prime location, just a block from the Stone Pony, where we saw a show. Being able to leave the concert after midnight and be in our room minutes later was awesome! The Empress Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Just beware though, if you want a good night's sleep this might not be the place, as there is a nightclub within the hotel that keeps revelers up "rather" late. The Empress was comfortable clean and conveniently located for access to all my favorite haunts in Asbury. The staff is always friendly and quick to accommodate. The only negative is parking which can be problematic at times. Fortunately for me I do not need a car to get around so I can arrive early enough to secure a parking spot

My boyfriend and I traveled to see a concert at a popular venue and decided to stay at the Empress. We loved it and had a blast on our trip. We loved the view of the beach from our room and our room was really clean. A woman at the counter (Lauren I think) checked us in and was extremely helpful and friendly. You can not top this hotel! Great price, right across the street from the boardwalk, 1 block from the famouse Stone Poney and 2 blocks from the revived Asbury Park resturant and bar center! Highly recomend!

It was raining when we arrived. The desk clerk loaned us her tartan/plaid umbrella so we could walk on the beach without getting completely soaked. She also helped us find dinner delivery and was conversational and professional. Everything we needed, and very pleasant guests. Near the Stone Pony-you don't even need to cross a street! They have a bar/Happy Hour in the hotel. We also got free tickets to a Drag Queen show in the hotel. The room was warm, clean and the beds were very comfortable! Stay here you can't be the price for what you get! BED BUGS - after staying one night I woke up with 18 BED BUG bites!! I had to repack and move to another floor at 4:30AM in the morning. There are NO luggage racks in the rooms to keep your luggage safe. I had a lot of luggage from my travels and had to put all of my cloths is high heat dryers and spray everything with BED BUG spray when I got home-.this […] was a several day project. Really enjoyed our stay at the Empress! Staff was wonderful, and switched our room to an ocean view at the last minute. We were moved to a smoking room that didn't smell at all! Also got free tickets to the nightclub in the lobby and took in a free drag queen show! highly recommend this hotel!

Love the retro-cool vibe of this clean and friendly hotel in the heart of Asbury Park's fun and sun. Stayed here for one night to enjoy some music at nearby Asbury Lanes. We got there early and we were taking care off and were given a room as soon as we arrived. They were very nice and helpful. We love the place and we'll be back.

Everyone who works at the hotel was incredibly helpful and friendly. The service is outstanding. The cleanliness and hotel fixtures not so great. We had a room with two beds and one of the beds had very visibly stained linens on it. The bathroom seemed like it hadn't been updated since 1955. Disappointed in the bathroom, because it didn't have a counter to put our things on. If we put stuff on the back of the toilet, everything would fall off onto the floor. That was frustrating. Location is great, could see lots of action going on across the street along the boardwalk and it was fun watching all the people. Staff was nice. Disappointed […] in the "continental" breakfast. Just tasted like "industrial" made. First morning, danishes were really dry and stale. Took one bite and yuk. Bagels were alright. No place to put anything to fix them, had to sit at the bar. It is easy to walk to great restaurants, theaters, shops, the beach and clubs. The ocean view for the rooms is also a great plus.

Spent a night with my family and it was great. We wished the pool stayed open later, but aside from that no other complaints. The staff were helpful; it was clean; and in a convenient location - across the street from the beach, and next to the Stone Pony. I would recommend this hotel.

Service at the hotel not very warm and welcoming, however I was satisfied with my stay. The hotel is located in a very close proximity to the restaurants, boardwalk and the beach, very convienient.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last thursday and friday. It was such a nice mini-vacation that we want to come back and do it for real. The staff was very sweet and our standard room overlooked the beach and boardwalk. Everything was wonderful and we can't wait to come back!

We stayed at the hotel only one night - we were attending a wedding in Belmar, NJ. Check-in was very efficient and the reception desk clerk was very friendly and informative. The hotel is located in a great location, we had an oceanfront room with balcony. Unfortunately we had a connecting room and we could hear the conversation from the guests next […] door during the day. The room was very plain, no comforter/bedspread on the bed, but was adequate and clean. The continental breakfast offered on the weekends was very nice. I see some comments about the noise from the nightclub, we were not bothered by it (by the way, they give you cards for free entry to the nightclub upon check-in, we didn't use them). The lobby and the pool area are very nice. Although we didn't have any problem with finding a parking space, I can see where there could be especially if the club is full. I first stayed at Empress in 1975. The pool was great. My room was on the 4th floor and had a great view of the boardwalk and ocean. My only complaint was that the elevator was the slowest I have ever been on. Food was overpriced, but there were 2 restaurants on the boardwalk I could have gone to eat.

Perfect if you are going to a show at the Stone Pony! Practically right next door. Totally worth the average hotel features if all you are looking for is a place to crash after a show.

My wife and I are seasoned world travelers in or early 50s with discerning tastes and fairly high expectations. I was in AP to play at The Stone Pony. The physical hotel itself is quite stylish and the location can't be beat. Our view had a balcony view of the boardwalk and ocean..beautiful. The staff in the lobby were always very friendly and helpful. The other reviews mentioned the noise and we should have paid more attention to the warnings. The clubs in the hotel go until 3 AM and literally shake […] the furniture in the room, even on the top floor. I don't blame the hotel...the club scene is their thing and they do it well. The hotel lobby has a retro feel to it. Quick and low key check in. Rooms are OK: clean but definitely dated and not overly spacious. Ours had two double beds. Loved the balcony and the view which overlooks the ocean across the street. Five to ten minute walk to everything on the boardwalk in Asbury Park is a bonus. Free parking and internet access […] (unsecured site though). Double beds OK. Draw backs mostly related to space for storage. Only one dresser with 2 drawers is not enough for two people especially if you are staying more than a day and want to take things out of your suitcases. Closet space was ok - complete with iron / ironing board, extra towels, hair dryer and lock box) Bathroom counter top and shelves are non existent. Anyone with toiletry items are out of luck in terms of keeping them out for easy access. As a woman who takes 2 toiletry bags for things like cosmetics, hair products, curling iron, etc I found this to be a significant issue. Very annoying. Even my husband had nowhere to leave out his 1 toiletry bag. Bathroom was also the most dated part of the room and shower was not very efficient. We stayed two nights. The second day we left our room just after lunch and expected that our room would be made up after that. It was not. We mentioned this on our way out later that same evening and were promised that this would be taken care of. It was not. We had extra towels already. Nothing else consumable was replenished: soaps, coffee, etc. and the room had not been cleaned. We usually leave the cleaning service a tip. Not this time! อ่านเพิ่มเติม

There is not much to say except that everything was more than satisfactory. Normally I stay elsewhere while visiting Asbury due to the room size but the rate was too good to pass up making the experience that much more enjoyable

Truly concerned staff, friendly and courteous. Safe parking, and easy walk to several restaurants and attractions. Hotel is across the street from the beach and boardwalk. Children friendly staff.

I was pampered from the moment I crossed the threshold into the Empress's glittery lobby. My boyfriend and I were here to enjoy our anniversary together. We loved having a porch to our room because we could watch the sunrise. The rooms were quiet and the people overall were nice.Two things I didn't like was that refrigerators in the room cost extra and that the doors connecting the rooms together didn't have locks. It did bother us that some of the other diners there were snobby and rude. The beach and boardwalk are very close and it was convenient that the hotel had beach towels so we didn't have to use our own. It's important to mention that this is a hotel owned and run by Gays. Having said that, one can clearly see the pride in ownership at this hotel. It is a classic retro style hotel that is being renovated and is a work in progress. It has a great design and architectural feel to it. The place is huge and it evokes a 1940's era. Except for us:) they made us feel very comfortable and welcomed, and I met lots of nice people. Bar tending staff is superb, ask for Bobby T. a great guy and war vet. We loved him. My husband and I wished we could have stayed long enough to see the "drag review". This hotel is up and coming and a must see! Very convenient to everything on the boardwalk. The food on the boardwalk was just ok. Better off eating at this hotel, food is worth mentioning! The pool area is nicely done and always seems to have a staff member working hard at it. Everything was just great No problems No complaints

I thought it was great. Early check in and poolside drinks.. room was clean.. i thought rates were a little high on saturday night, but overall, no complaints. Very cool to have the club right downstairs too..

Very clean and comfortable and just across the street from the boardwalk and beach...Loved it!
