I reserved two rooms. One for my husband and myself and one for our friends. It turned out that our room was so small we could barely get around the bed. Our friends had a huge room with a bigger bed. The Inn Pub restaurant is way over-priced. For example; $21 for mushroom ravioli? Consequently, we dined elsewhere each evening. The staff does not understand environmentally friendly customers. We did not want our sheets and towels changed daily, and yet, even with the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, the housekeepers still changed the sheets and […] towels. And after telling the receptionist not to clean our room, they still left a bag full of clean towels at our door. There is no recycling. Finally, the breakfast menu does not change. It was fine at first, but having the same breakfast 6 days in a row can be a bit unappetizing. Simple changes could be made, such as cream cheese with the muffins, or a breakfast cook in the dining room making omelets and fried eggs to order, which should be easy as there is never a breakfast rush. We were a nervous at first booking our stay with relatively little information but left very satisfied. Close to Stowe Mountain, and yet situated off of Rte 108 just enough to insulate you from the movement. It was fantastic! Great Service, Sleigh Riding, and Bartender Bob was a keeper! Great crowd in the lodge also. All thumbs up!!

Great stay at stowehof inn beautiful views, quaint and cozy, the beds were comfy and the room was large. Breakfast was great and the staff was friendly. We were running late for checkIn but they said no worries and left us our key. We were greeted by a crackling fire. Skiing is very close and we will definitely return!

We will definitely be back. The Inn was so quaint and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was much better than expected and the staff was very helpful in finding a great restaurant for dinner.

This hotel is my second time. I went last summer and it was great and just came back from last week and was great again. Everything is close, like the village of Stowe, the restaurants and any sports you enjoy doing. I do recommend this hotel.

What a wonderful weekend we had. A fantastic room, king bed with murphy-style twin welcomed us. Comfortable, balcony leading out to great outdoor space. Woods everywhere is a fantastic view. Indoor pool was great for our active 6 year old. The public space is warm, inviting, and we played games, ate in and read books. I highly recommend Stowehof. this hotel was defenitely a nice place to stay...but two most important things needed were..a microwave and a computer...a must have's...

This is a beautiful property, and the room and view were great. The restaurant serves fine food. My complaints are, the chairs in the bedroom are very low and difficult to get up form. the main complaint is that there is no coffee service in the room. To me this is just unacceptable, even the cheapest hotels/motels provide a coffee./ tea maker. I was very disappointed to find out the exercise room was so awful. I would think they would be embarassed to say they have one. My significant other was turned off by the pool so we didn't use it and that was part of the reason I chose Stowehof. They also had inc. continental breakfast and in the literature in the room said it was hot breakfast. It […] was a very poor continental, probaly the worst I have ever seen of any B&B or chain hotel. The shower was marginal and then our heat didn't work so they brought us a portable which did the trick! Overall, they have a ncie, but pricey restaurant and very quaint hotel. Things were a little dingy. Chose it because of a good restaurant on site, only to find it closed for a wedding.

There was an used (and reused) envelop in the room for maid tip - rather tacky. Hotel is older and needs refurbishing. Grounds are lovely (when the weather is nice). Elevator leaves much to be desired ... we ended up carting our luggage down the stairs.

A standard room is very poor, old, dreary. Up graded to a more cheerful room. The hotel rooms are old and tired need updating. The common area are nice, very country Vermont. Dinning area very nice, very nice complimentary breakfast above average. Grounds very nice and pool area attractive.

Not that we were that tired but a good break from as week on the road was needed, this was the place, no traffic and away from any type of noise. Great view

I had a great stay at Stowehof Inn with my three kids. Our room was cozy, clean and spacious enough for a family of four. Breakfast buffet was good, especially coffee tasted great with blueberry pancakes... There is one thing I would complain about, though. As a Finnish, one of the reasons I chose this hotel was the sauna. When we checked in, the man […] at the reception explained where to find everything (our room, breakfast room, pools etc.) and he mentioned that there would be a sauna as well at the pools. The grounds here are beautiful, and the exterior charming...however, the guest rooms are a little on the dingy side. Did not feel super clean. Overall the stay was OK.

Very quaint and quiet location. The grounds are beautiful and very unique Inn. I would go back there again, we enjoyed our stay very much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only complaints would be that the air conditioning could stand to be updated, and the front desk closed at 10. In the morning when we needed an ice bucket, the woman at the front desk was too busy on the phone to help us at all besides telling us "there should be one in your room". No air conditionning, coffee maker and bathrobe in the room like specify in reservation. Sauna was not working Indoor pool close at 9 pm ( too early) For breakfast no fruits and no viennoiseries Very desapointed I suppose to have a King bed I get 2 singles bed sticked together !!!

The Stowehof was a little out of hubbub of the busy little town, we thought we were lost but kept going and found it. Very peaceful the view was amazing and so were the grounds. I arrived at the Hotel at approx 6PM, only to find the restaurant closed for a wedding party. This was not convienant because the closest other restaurants were a few miles down the road. Upon check in, I was given a room ( #3) directly above the wedding reception! I could very clearly " Now for the first time, Mr & Mrs..." YIKES, the party was just […] beginning! The room was very small with a pull out bed (couch). This was not what I considered a king sized bed room. I went directly to the desk, where I was told there were no other rooms, then told there was one far away from the reception, but the room may not be furished..., I was told I could check it out, I did, it was furnished, except for the advertised coffee maker, which I sadly missed the next morning. Overall this hotel is just ok. It is very charming, but the up keep of the place is poor. Upon arrival we walked in the front door to check in. Nobody was at the front desk but we could hear someone in the office behind the front desk. We tried to get their attention by saying hello. He had to hear us, but instead picked up thenphone to make a call. […] After a few minutes he finished the conversation and put down the phone. We then rang the bell for serbice. Almost immediately the phone rang again and he picked it up instead of greeting us. I found this to be extremely rude. Time he kept the conversation short. Stowehof is an old cozy inn with a great view. It is located in between the little town and the mountains. The room we stayed in wasn't very up to date but it had a fun cabin feel. An iron and hair dryer were available. There was a small indoor and outdoor pool with a jacuzzi inside. Adjacent to the pool is a cozy lounge where you can play games etc. […] The free breakfast was great. The Stowhoff Inn at Stow Vt. was a great experience. Loved the room and the Country Lodge style. Near every thing and well worth the short trio from I 89 in Waterbury.

Decent value for the price. Little higher than the basic hotel and not as expensive as Trapp Family Lodge. Very unique atmosphere and design,very pleasant. A+ experience.

We spent one night at the hotel. Because it was last minute, we chose this place because of the price, but we were not disappointed. The decor of the hotel was a little odd, however it was very clean. At first we had a hard time finding our room, it was like a maze getting there, but once we found our way we were all set. They just need better markings […] of which way the room numbers go. The complementary breakfast was basic but very tasty! I though the french toast was delicious!
