We were surprised with the appointments in the room

Good hotel for a family of 5. Spacious,photos of rooms are spot on. it is located on lower portion of Old Quebec. Away from tourist area. Room could have been cleaner, they do not clean rooms or make beds during your stay. You can get fresh towels everyday. Charged for rollaway bed. has kitchenette-if you want to cook breakfast. Did not eat at hotel, […] cant comment on restaurant. No screens on windows. Most restaurants are uptown. If you want to get a good night's sleep, do not stay in this hotel. The suite I stayed in faced the gasoline station, which was the source of much noise in the evenings. Although the hotel had a nice ambience, it was not sufficient enough to compensate for the lack of a good night's rest.

It's always a gamble booking hotels online and I have had a few bad experiences in the past, yet I was more than impressed this time. Roomy, rustic, clean - perfect

Hotel was extremely well located for our visit to the Quebec Winter Carnival. All the major site were within easy walking distance. Old Quebec city has a charm all it's own and we enjoyed walking down the narrow streets amongst the old historic buildings. Lots of nice little pubs and restaurants and many quaint galleries for art lovers.

Wonderful hotel...everything you need. Front desk staff especially helpful and courteous. Thanks for a lovely stay.

My husband and I really enjoyed this hotel on a long weekend. We had an extremely nice time at this hotel. The room was very nice and had great decor...hardwood floors, stone walls, separate sitting room with couch, nice bathtub with pedestal sink, and full kitchenette. The staff was great, extremely friendly. We stayed in the middle of a snowstorm, […] and the valet brushed the snow off our car for us every time we went out. The location is great, a short walk to the Old Town shopping and great restaurants. Would stay again anytime and will recc. to friends and family. Only complaints are that due to the stone walls the Wi-Fi was sporadic. The location and condition of the hotel was great. The rooms had a boutique-y feel and the convenience of Port Royal was optimal. I work in hospitality and this makes me a picky patron. I always love staying at this hotel. Close to everything and the suites are just beautiful. Had a great time with the kids.

Glad we found this place. Not super high end but very nice -- modern, clean, spacious, decent basic kitchen, terrific location. Note that parking is not included in room rate. Still an excellent value and lovely visit.

This is a 4Star hotel in should be a 5 Star It was stylish, Comfortable and welcoming. With a great restaurant and lounge bar where the food and drinks were excellent and the service supreme.

What a dissapointment. There was NO chest/bureau...no drawer space at all. Of the 2 bedside lamps, 1 had only 1 of 2 bulbs, the other only had 1 that did not work. The room was very dark. There were no other lights in the bedroom. The room had NO air conditioning....we had to open a window to get any kind of breeze. If the hotel did not have A/C, it […] should be listed in the hotel description. The window curtain did not totally cover the window at night. Two bugs in the bathroom. The wood floor squeaked with every footstep. The bed was so low to the ground, we had a lot of difficulty getting up out of the bed. Seemed to be better to roll out then stand up. Since this was a "suite", it had a small kitchen table and 2 chairs. We ended up using the kitchen table for our clothes and other stuff you would normally put in a dresser drawer. When you sat in a kitchen chair, you could not open the room door...it was blocked. We had to carry our luggage down 2 steps to get into our room. Hotel was VERY expensive for the amount of value we got out of it. Staff seemed to pay more attention to guests who spoke French. Would NOT return to this hotel. We stayed here for 3 days before a cruise - what an absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was adequate to accommodate 3 people and so boutique like. It was so conveniently located to everything - we were very pleasantly surprised. It was a short walk (1/2 block) to the cruise port, close to wonderful restaurants, and close to beautiful shops. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay at this hotel was! The staff was helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean and very trendy. It was located within walking distance of many must see areas. The next time we return to Quebec City, there is no question that we would stay here again.

Excellent location since I arrived by cruise ship and departed by rail, very convenient to popular tourist attractions. Hotel itself is completely new updated ,renovation of older historic type building in historic tourist area, and was actually like a large one bedroom condominium, with a nice bistro. The 3 young women who helped us at the front desk were wonderful and very helpfull - nice surprise! Great English speaking. The bath tub should have a safety bar and and strips on the bottom for safety. The heater had no instructions on how to turn it off or operated it. But the friendly ness of the receptionist made up for those deficiencies

Stayed one night after getting off a cruise. Extremely easy walk from the cruise terminal and the old section of Quebec City. Hotel itself is basic. No real frills. Bed was a bit soft to our liking. Our stay was above all expectation..

Excellent, will definitely go back. The staff and surroundings were very polite and helpful especiallt when we checked in the receptionist was very helpful and courteous. BRAVO

This was a great little place, very close to the train station, interesting shops, restaurants and walking distance to the funicular and access to the upper part of Old Quebec.. Downside was construction bin emptied outside our room 7am Saturday morning. While front desk is available 24/7 there is no indication on in room phones on how to reach them. […] I didn't dine in the restaurants but the ourtdoor bar was pleasant (when it wasn't raining). My sister, Mother and I stayed for three days and were impressed with the overall attention to detail, comfort of the room and efficiency of the staff. We faced the gas station which was not an ideal view, but was surprisingly quiet. The cafes nearby provided good food at reasonable prices. The hotel is very near the train station and near the Museum […] of Civilization, a meeting venue for city bus tours. It is a lovely walk to many Quebec City highlights. We really enjoyed our short stay at the Port Royal Suites. Loved the modern feel in this boutique hotel. Excellent location in old Quebec.

Great location and very very nice room all close to the best part of old Quebec.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful, from hotel services to where the best places to eat.

Close to farmers market, shops, port and St Lawrence. Nice restaurant on site and close to many others. We parked car and walked everywhere for entire stay.

The Hotel Port-Royal located in Old Quebec was amazing. We were greeted in the parking lot by a staff member who came out specifically to welcome us! Our room was clean; the bed comfortable; the lighting could have been better but that was our only concern. The hotel restaurant had fantastic food and service. The location was perfect. This was our firest visit to Quebec City and I booked the hotel not knowing to much. The Port Royal Suits exceeded our expectations in every way - service, ambience, food and friendly helpful staff. The location was perfect - in the old part of the city very close to the water and all of the attractions however just moments away from the busy tourists […] and thus more relaxing. Our suite room was contemporary, romantic with historic loft charm and was very clean and spacious. It had a beautiful long window with a view of the charming historical city. The lounge XO and restaurant Le 48 both indoor & outdoor had great food and wonderful staff who made us feel welcome and shared some excellent knowledge on what to see and do and most importantly where to eat! Nice room, very good location. "High speed wireless internet" was NOT working in the room, requiring either a trip to the lobby or trying to leach internet off local businesses (mediocre at best). VERY slow drain in bathtub, and the toilet clogged once as well. Fix the net and the drains, and it would have been 5s across the board.

Great location and price for this hotel on the edge of the Lower City. Unlike most, the rooms are spacious and the appointments modern. Our room had a bit of a slope to it- it appears the hotel was built in two parts- but that just made it funky. There was a small breakfast area with a fridge and coffee maker and breakfast area- which was great for […] casual meals. The room was suprisingly quiet for being in the middle of the city. The bed was lovely- comfortable and spacious. Even the pull out bed was comfortable. There was a bit of an odd smell in the bathroom but no sign of mold or mildew. This location is close to everything and very charming. Staff were very helpful. Warning: in Quebec City you need to climb and descend hills often. Start pumping those legs before you go.

Great location related to Vieux Quebec. Very nicely renovated. Great area to walk around. I have stayed at some very nice hotels over the past year around North America, and the service from the front desk/concierage staff at the Port Royal was among the most kind and helpful. Really made the stay a pleasure.

We checked in for a two day stay at a cost at a substantial cost. The room air conditioning did not work ( needed to be charged by air conditioning company) . We did receive a waiver of parking fees 20 dollars for the inconvenience of the hot room. They did move us to a different room

Overall this is a great hotel with a great location. The staff was excellent and overall we were very happy with our stay. Items to consider if you stay are the air conditioner is small and is to weak to keep the room cool in the summer. The pull out mattress needs to be upgraded, it was very hard. Room was large and very comfortable. Hotel staff was very accomodating and friendly. Great location near Old Town and lots of great restuarants nearby. Bar and restuarant on site were very good as well. Good value for the family (my wife and son and I). I will go there again if we go back to Quebec City, which is a great destination.
