My room was on the ground floor, so I didn't have to lug my suitcase up the stairs (I didn't see an elevator). I was only there for a night, on my way to another area - so I didn't get to spend much time in the area. However what time I spent there was lovely. My room had just been cleaned when I checked in (I saw the housekeeping staff leaving the […] room), and the smell of cleaning products was a bit strong - but thankfully it was a beautiful day and the windows opened, so the fresh air took care of that quite nicely. Enjoyed the Glen Tavern Inn. Very hospitable.

Wanted to get out of town for a few days, but stay within a reasonable driving distance. Was looking at a few other places, but when I saw this place online I was hooked just by the pictures alone. I was worried that the reality might not live up to the pictures, but the second I got there I knew I had made a great choice. The Inn is situated perfectly. […] Main Street is a quick walk 2 blocks south. The tracks and old train depot (now the Chamber of Commerce) are literally across the street (no trains so don't worry about noise). The packing house located at the train depot has been converted into a museum, which was educational and fun. The Inn was a great place to use as base camp. Had some great food at Enzo's (located within the Inn) the first night there. If you've looked at the photos, you've seen the dark wood of the lobby. Trust me, it looks even better in person. There are sofas and easy chairs to relax in, and a few sofas in front of the awesome fireplace. We spent part of our first night just camped out there. We got one of the jacuzzi tub rooms. On top of the tub, the room had a dual head shower for two. Plenty of space in the bathroom, which was nice. The only negative, and it was probably specific to our room, was that our mattress was slanted. Appears that people sleep closer to the door more times than naught! We were just looking for a place to "land" overnight on our way to Central Coast. WHAT A GEM. We were made to feel welcome upon arriving. It was very easy to find and yet the area was so charming. We stayed in Room#307 the carpet needs to be updated. The mattress sagged. The bathtub needs to be re-finished. overall the room was clean. The Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Would be nice if the icemaker worked. No Pool.

We stayed at the hotel for one night. The hotel looks pretty but the furniture there is old and surprisingly I found a lot of dust behind my bed when I was trying to rich the charger I dropped. Didn't communicate much with the staff.

Ok sooo I booked a room but I wish they would be more specific about the room. It said bath with jets, in a sence of o like a jacuzi tub. I went to shower and I'm like where? And the paint in the shower is chipping and it's a pretty small shower and tub might I add. If you enjoy staying in a European "Pension" with character this lovely hotel has all that - history, mystery and historically significant location. Staff was helpful and friendly, restaurant was affordable with decent sized portions. Good for solo traveler as well. Good location to many other destinations without the higher prices.

I choose this hotel since it sounded so unique. Our room was delightful and we enjoyed the downtown. We decided to eat at the hotel....and the food was great. We would stay again and again.

Fun place to stay if you like history. Hotel is over 100 years old. The rates are exceptionally reasonable, so don't get picky about the details. I'd certainly stay there again.

With a truly good restaurant and bar on the premises, a fantastic staff, clean and comfortable rooms this charming little gem gets my five stars.

I took my best friend to the Glen Tavern Inn as part of her 50th birthday celebration. We had so much fun! The hotel is beautiful with all the charm and grace of a fine old building. When we asked about the "haunted hotel" legends, we were moved to a lovely room on the "haunted" 3rd floor. The restaurant was Fabulous, first rate food and service. If you are looking for a sterile corporate environment, look elsewhere. This was a great choice for my husband and me. It was a cozy and comfortable two day getaway. The hotel is minutes from downtown Santa Paula and equally close to the freeway so we were able to spend large amounts of time enjoying Ojai and Santa Barbara. While the hotel is a landmark and a beautiful building, the service was somewhat lacking. When booking the room I made reservations for a family of four, yet the room only had enough towels for two people. Call down to the front desk and no answer. So I found some towels on my own. The location was great and the staff was wonderful. The bed needed to be replaced as it sunk to the middle badly. Food at the restaurant was wonderful. We would stay here again but need to be sure to get a more spacious room like 208.

Some people might complain that the rooms are out dated but this is a great inn at a good price. Workers are friendly. Bartenders give good advice for places to eat and make good drinks. I would defiantly go back.

This was really an eerie place to stay. Almost totally black both inside and out...one person finally showed up at the desk and was the only person there. This place looks like the ADDAMS family owns it. It was clean and that was about all.

I stay at any place and every place, from Loews Coronado bay to the Motel 6 in Compton, so I know how nice and crummy a place can be! GLEN TAVERN is more than an INN, though the structure is perfect for its title, the service is OUTSTANDING. Ofcourse if you're reading this, you must know about the history of this place as its known to be "haunted". […] But the cool part is, it is not "haunted" but spooky in a thrilling way. It was so worth staying at this place even just one night and I would go back any chance I may get. Didn't get to grab the breakfast snacks but we had a very wonderful dinner at the restaurant. Wife and I took the 8 week baby along for our 1 yr anniversary and we were treated like VIP, seriously, we stayed in Rm 308 which is the penthouse with all the bells, whistles & jacuzzi tub! There isn't an elevator but I tell you, making 2-3 trips down those squeaky stairs with our baby's belongings, there was a lot of excitement at this place. We really enjoyed our stay and knew this hotel was 101 years old. Loads of old world charm like going back in time. The room was cozy and not at all like your typical "freeway noise" establishment. Of course the bathroom was small as it would have been in the "olden days" the best part was the sitting/lobby area where we could have spent more time. […] The "continental" breakfast in the lobby/great room in the morning could have been improved with the addition of some "danish" etc along with the "rustic" breads and coffee. I believe the restaurant has breakfast in the summer and is a cozy addition even though under separate ownership. We had Italian food sent upstairs from the restaurant as we were tired. This hotel is approximately 10 miles from the coast. It was a good value and quick drive to the beach. Other than having very noisy people above me (at 3:30 in the morning I woke up to a very loud verbal argument... I really didn't appreciate hearing the F word on Christmas morning...) the room was very pleasant and I would stay again.

Excellent value for the price - in the heart of historical sites in Santa Paula, close to Ojai and hiking sites. Coffee and donuts/breads provided in the morning. Nice restaurant is part of the Inn for more substantial meals. Friendly and hospitable staff-even on Christmas eve/day when we were there.

Stayed here for 3 nights while a friend was visiting from out of state. we are both ghost hunters so i thought it would be fun to stay in a well known haunted location. Nothing paranormal happened but the hotel is adorable and the staff is very friendly. easy check in and out and the hotel was very quiet the whole time we were there. Santa Paula is a small town and I was there for business. The Glen Tavern Inn is celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year. It's a beautiful, old building. My only complaint is that the mattress in my room really should be replaced. It slanted to one side.

The hotel has the original look and feel but keep up great. There is great history at the hotel. It is straight across from Santa Paula Train Station and walking distance the shops. The staff was very nice. We had no issues. Great price...great hotel....

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and explored the local area. The hotel was in an ideal location, the staff is very pleasant and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. If we find ourselves in the area again we would not hesitate to stay at the Glen Tavern Inn

The Glen Tavern Inn has offered comfort to travelers for 100 years, probably going back to the time of train travel as it's just across the street from the nicely kept Santa Paula station. Quiet, comfortable and quaint, it is fronted by a welcoming garden. The lobby and the rooms take one back to the era of wood beams, cozy corners and a peaceful ambience. […] Beds are comfortable, and rooms have amenities such as coffee maker and frig. Certain rooms include a jacuzzi in the bathroom - which also sports a shower with two showerheads and double sinks. Enzo's restaurant serves excellent food and wine selections. This hotel has a lot of character, it is older and has charm. It is in the heart of Santa Paula. The room was large and comfortable. There is a restaraunt and bar but they are not open late, so I was a little disappointed.

We booked a King/Jacuzzi room and when we arrived they upgraded us to the Penthouse Suite! It was wonderful and fun. The floors were marble and the granite counters were shiny. The King bed was comfy and we slept very well. My husband had his quiet time reading at the long entertainment bar. I enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and read my book. We ate at Enzo's […] restaurant off the lobby and it was delicious. The menu selections were varied and tasty. We were too full for dessert. Paula was our waitress and she was delightful. This hotel does not have an elevator. All romms on 2nd or 3rd floor. The bed was comfortable, but too soft for us. The biggest complaint would be the bathroom. It is not made for the bigger people such as myself. Single shower stall, not much leg room for the toilet and you had to step up into the bathroom. Booked this hotel based on previous reviews and was not disapointed. Lots of history of hollywoods bygone era with movie posters and pictures of actors and thier movies. Well kept and clean rooms. Hotel is older yet well maintained, although walls are a bit thin. Would definatly stay again!

Beautiful historic hotel. We stayed in a recently remodeled room, and it was very comfortable, with large newly renovated bathroom. The mattress was a little worn, and I had to kill a baby spider on the bed one morning, but other than that, we found it very nice. It is old but well maintained. If you don't appreciate a historic atmosphere, and want "new", this is not the place for you. If you appreciate character and history you'll like it. Service is great.
