"Le Meridien Tahiti"
Room was very noisy. Could hear all the sounds from room above. The chickens from the neighbor hood were very loud and always would wake me up at 5:00AM! Not good!
Outstanding property...beautifully cared for
"do not stay here!"
Personal items stolen on hotel property (snorkel gear, kobo, sandals, water bottle) i know its our own fault for leaving things unsupervised but people were around. the beaches are public (which we knew) but this was on the grass area on private property. manager even told us afterwards that the thieves take down the warning signs at night (the ones […] that say to not leave valuables out). well then tell us when we check in that theft occurs outside and we would have been a lot more careful. at lease the manager drove my husband to the police station to file a police report. to make matters worse i left a $400 gore-tex jacket in the coat closest and checked out (just came from rainy weather in NZ). I called the next day and they didn't have my jacket. i'm sure people forget items all the time at hotels and most have a lost and found. most hotels would actually hold it for you and try to reach you. this is a reputable 4 star resort and their own staff steal customers clothing!! highly recommend not staying in Tahiti at all. go straight to the other nicer islands in the French Polynesia. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"LeMeridien in Tahiti is beautiful and well run"
We spent 3 days at the LeMeridien in mid-December 2011. Hotel and rooms are beautiful and the pool and grounds well maintained. Also enjoyed the Friday night Polynesian Folk Dance show. Great food at the LeMeridien and other good choices easy walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is also quiet compared to staying at a hotel in downtown Tahiti. […] We will reccommend this hotel to any of our friends who may decide to vacation in Tahiti. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Superior service and subline setting."
I have put off writting this review for weeks because I can't put together the words, to describe what a beautiful and well managed hotel the Le Meridien Tahiti was. The reception staff was kind and thoughtful beyond my expectations, the grounds are postcard views, the entertainment on the weekends was magnificent. OK got it, I loved my stay there and […] will make it my home on many returns to Tahiti. I lived a life of snorkling, kayaking and then a dip in the sand bottom pool, then walked out the gates, where I could access a market for affordable food options, and the local bus that took me to and from Papeete for $2.00. With the locals that wear flowers from their garden, and sing on the ride. I saw other properties that were very sterile and "Americanized". The Le Meridien will make you sigh with it's charming staff, and modern take on Tahiti. Enough, book now. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Great pool, room was fine, food is horrible and $$"
We stayed here for 3 nights before departing for Bora Bora. the pool and onsite beach were nice, but the chairs at pool are old, some broken and uncomfortable. the room was nice, but nothing overly nice. The food in all sectors of the hotel and their respective prices was absolutely horrible and expensive. foretunately, there is a grocery store just […] outside the hotel property where you can stock up on snacks since you may not wish to eat a meal there after your first. service was spotty and the hotel didnt offer any "frills" or extra touches to its guests, like some other places. Overall, its a nice property with a rare beach in tahiti, but the food and service have a lot to be desired. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Le Meridien Tahiti"
Beachfront property with beautiful grounds and a large sand bottom swimming pool in center. Quite impressed with size of the dlx room we stayed in...Spacious, very comfortable king bed, large bathroom with 2 sinks, bathtub and separate shower. A/C worked really well. Small fridge in room with coffee/tea facilities...good start in the mornings...However […] can't comment on restaurant (Le Carré) as we went out for lunches and dinners daily. Great staff and service, welcoming and friendly in pure polynesian style and culture. Check it out for yourself, if you get a chance to visit French Polynesia. Hotel is 20mns (max) from airport...a good stopover for a nite or more. The sunsets over the island of Moorea are spectacular ! อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Le Meridien in Tahiti"
Very clean hotel. Our room had a view over the mezzanine fishpond to the swimming pool and lagoon. Service was unobtrusive but efficient and cordial. We found the restaurant quite expensive, with the buffet breakfast extremely so, and several guests preferred to buy food locally or to eat at nearby restaurants. Decor and art in the hotel were top c […] lass. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Slice of paradise with some qualifications"
An attractive hotel, light spacious & comfortable situated within stunningly landscaped gardens, with a large beautiful sandy-bottomed pool at the edge of a coral/ exotic fish filled lagoon with magnificent views of Moorea Island. The rooms are chicly decorated & well-appointed & maintained. Restaurant, bar, pool & reception areas were attractive & […] staffed by attentive, well-trained, friendly, multi-lingual staff. Quality of food in restaurants & room service was high. I would recommend this hotel to others with the following qualifications:- Because of the open, horse-shoe shaped design of the hotel, the noise of entertainment from the dining areas carries very loudly to all rooms of the hotel. There are frequent Polynesian shows that can last in the evenings for a couple of hours & at times loud bands playing in the late evenings. This disturbs children & those who are forced to bed early to catch sleep before the regular, very early flights out or before meeting day-trips. Tahiti is one of the most expensive, over-priced locations on Earth to visit & this hotel is one of the more expensive, over-priced hotels in Tahiti. The cost of meals, especially breakfast, is exhorbitant. The cost of internet is exhorbitant & prohibitive. Guests are provided with a 'passport' by which they can access free towels at beach & pool, but will be penalised approx USD 50 if this cardboard ticket is lost or not returned! Airport transport is usually provided complimentary by other resorts, nothing is offered by Le Meridien. The cost of transport for the 15 minute journey to Papeete, the airport or ferry terminals is an enormous USD 35-45 one-way. This can add enormous cost to the overall prices of day-trips or evenings out in town. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"A good option"
The pluses: you can walk to a supermarket and 2 restaurants just outside the hotel. Also, a shop with internet for 600 an hour. Nice pool and nice bar/restaurant with a nice view of Moorea. Negatives: overwater bungalows have no direct access to the water. You have a balcony but have to walk back to land to get in and out of the water. Bungalows were […] a little small. On arrival, we were taken by golf cart to the bungalow. The first thing you pass by on the ride is the hotel's junkyard/storage area with shipping containers and a junk golf cart. Hellooo??? อ่านเพิ่มเติม
The bungalows out on the water looked nice but the rest of the hotel was not what was expected. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Although a little further away from town than the airport hotels, it offers a real break from the hustle & bustle of traffic and is in a lovely setting. One would be wise to have a car, although the hotel has a convenient shuttle a couple of times a day for about $20. The Lagoon is wonderful-lots of different fish, warm water, calm, shallow for a good […] distance - which is especially nice for "senior" snorklers or children. The hotel is nicely arranged and within walking distance of a couple of restaurants & cafes a grocery store. The rooms are large and comfortable. The menu was varied and delicious. The staff were particularily helpful and anxious to help. We would highly recommend this to anyone, especially families. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Le Meridien Hotel in Tahiti"
Checked into a garden view room. Nice view of garden and pool and partial view of ocean. Room was musty smelling and outdated with old, chipped furniture. Not nearly enough lighting. Would not stay in garden view room again unless renovated. My sister had renovated lagoon view room which was lovely. Food was expensive but nice breakfast buffet and fairly […] decent supper. Had to eat here because restaurants at adjacent mall are closed on Sunday. Service at the pool bar was poor. Pool was nice with sand bottom. Ocean was calm and clear but weeds on the bottom and very little coral to view so don't book here if you want to snorkel. They have a place to hold luggage and a travel room for those with late flights. They offer late check-out if available for an extra few hours at no charge, and past late check-out time you can pay to keep the room until evening at a fairly reasonable rate. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"make sure the room has been maintained ..."
see the comments from that of Room #439 and my comments from the "Check-In" comments for Room # 441 -- feel very strongly that we should have gotten a discount on our stay and/or a reduction on our final billing for our stay at this hotel. One should NOT have rooms that we had for such a hotel of this character or name -- we had high expectation for […] this hotel, but was quite disappointed by what we experienced. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Le Meridie is Pretty Good!!"
I gave it a "4 stars" because any hotel can always improve and there are definitely better hotels in Tahiti that I had not stayed. But I was pleasantly surprised for my stay at Le Meridien because of the misgiving from reading so many negative reviews about this and in general, most other hotels in Tahiti. Let's face it - it's not "perfect" but it is […] reasonably nice for the price at a location that's far away from any major cities in the world - almost everything has to be imported - so everything in Tahiti is expensive - as expected! Taxi from the airport to the Hotel is about 2000 XPF (if I remember it correctly!) , one way per person. The Hotel is reasonably isolated form the outside even though it is next to some "strip" malls. We had an "ocean view" room - not those expansive cottages on the Lagoon - very comfortable and roomy, one complanit I had was that the bathroom somehow had a very "minimalist" feel. The Hotel has nice beach for walking and perhaps, a little snorkeling. It is jam packed with (the more affluent) locals coming for the Friday evening buffet dinners - so don't check in on Fridays if you don't like this kind of "local" scene. However, its proximity to the "Malls" also allowed us not to eat at the Hotel at all and to venture out a little bit . We went to some nearby small local restaurants (food is not that great!) and a Pizza joint (food is good but not great!) that had a concrete dance "floor" with a 2 person band on Friday evenings. We even danced a little bit while the local couples did their versions of modified native and Latin style dances. We're not the intrepid adventurer type that need to be in the water almost 24/7 doing scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. and would not "waste" their time in an urban city like Tahiti. When we travel to a new place, we like to try to see/learn about it "as is" - the good and the bad! Staying in Tahiti for a couple more days after the cruise (even though the ship had already docked there for 2 days/3nights อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Le Meridien just awesome!"
Finishing a cruise, we couldn't get a plane home and had to stay an extra night on Tahiti. We decided to splurge and stay in an over the water bungalow at Le Meridien. It was pricey and well worth it! The hotel is gorgeous! The staff were some of the nicest people I'd ever met! We breezed through check-in. We never had to handle our own luggage, they […] loaded it all on a golf cart for us and drove us to our bungalow. It was absolutely beautiful and the bed was super-comfy. The bungalows were built over part of a coral reef and I noticed that Princess Cruises brought passengers to this hotel for a snorkeling shore excursion. Our room had a nice balcony, a 5 1/2 bathtub, separate shower and a/c. One problem is that it's hot there and during the afternoon, the a/c doesn't keep up with the heat. At night we opened all the shutters in the room (2 walls were full of shutters), kept the a/c on full and it actually got a little chlly in the room. The price of our room included a bottle of red wine. There was a small refrigerator in the room. The hotel pool is covered in sand which was way cool. They provided complimentary snorkel gear including fins, complimentary pool towels and even complimentary kayaks! There is a restaurant but we didn't eat there because of the price. There was a pizza restaurant next door but it wasn't open when we went there at lunch time. We ended up walking about 7 minutes to a supermarket (closed on Sundays). They have hot dishes you can buy. For $11 American dollars we split a large serving of Spaghetti and meatballs and the food was pretty good. We also bought water here because a small bottle at the hotel was oer $5 American dollars. Much cheaper at the market and there is an ATM at the market. The snorkeling was just fantastic and I got great pictures. There are eels living in the coral under the bungalows. I cannot recommend this place enough for it's beauty, comfort, wonderful landscaping and super friendly service. I would stay here again in a อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"don't plan on a quiet resort"
OK, I know it was the week before Christmas, but the parties and family day at the hotel for the locals should have been announced at the time of booking. We stayed at the hotel for 3 days after our cruise. When we checked in it turns out that the Sunday buffet is a popular local event and the restaurant, the lobby and the grounds were nearly unaccessable […] to any paying guest until late evening. On our last full day a large Christmas party had been booked for the kids from a local company and families and literally hundreds of kids inundated the hotel. Inflated jumping gyms, slides, trampolines and various children play equipment were set up all throughout the resort. The pool (man made lagoon) was filled to the brim with infants many w/o diapers. Needless to say we elected to avoid swimming in the toddler toilet for the rest of that day. So much for a quiet finish to our vacation.I'm not a Grinch or anything but they should have posted a notice when we booked, warning of the pending event Also they are doing major updating work to portions of the hotel so construction noise and materials are laying around throughout the property. Nothing was said about that as well. The staff was friendly and helpful enough, the rooms were so so. Not a 4 star or even 3 star by any stretch. Think it though. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Le Meridian, Tahiti"
Not expecting much because we booked a room at a very reasonable price, we were very plesently surprised when we opened our door to our garden view room. It was dark outside, so we could not see the view, but the room was typically Polynesian, clean, and large. The next morning, we saw our garden view and even some ocean, over our 4 ft. hedge on the […] bottom floor. The hotel personnel were fantastic, and even upgraded us for our 3rd night to a higher room with a gorgeous pool & 180 degree ocean view. The food at the hotel is very expensive, but there is a great little grocery just 2 blocks away. Taxi to the hotel was 3750 xpf, or around $40 -- a major disadavantage if you cannot share with someone. Overall, a great experience. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Le Meridien Papeete"
The reception staff had little concern for accommodating guest. The prices for all ammenities (especially food) were excessively exorbitant. The meal we had at Le Carre was the least appealing meal during my visit to French Polynesia. The wait staff was unprofessional but the food was extraordinarily bland (inventive but bland) and the fish I ordered […] was inedible. The hotel is in a beautiful location, and the rooms/bungalows are potentially exceptional. The bungalows are poorly maintained--signs of wear was particularly bad in the bathroom. The ongoing renovation work and the uneven service made it unacceptable. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Excellent Local for Snorkling, Relaxing & kayaking"
This place has it all for R&R. You can walk to restaurants if you do not want to eat at the hotel. It is far from downtown, so you do have to take a taxi or Le Truck (public bus). They have many things within walking distance including a Museum, Pharmacy, & Excellent pastry shop for breakfast & sandwiches, & Supermarket. I can't brag enough about how […] clear the water is to watch the fish in the lagoon either snorkling or Kayaking watchout for lowtide. SUPER Friendly staff and they even have a shared complimentry room for guests to shower off or take a nap for the late flights so you don't have to just wait at the airport for hours. You can still enjoy their hotel pool, beach, & relaxing. You can even have your luggage stored in a safe room while you relax until your time of departure. Super friendly staff and local people. We loved our stay it was sad to leave. Wish we could have stayed longer. One of the best trips I ever had!!! อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Le Meridien, Tahiti"
I thought parts of the hotel looked like it needed a coat of paint and some of the furniture needed replacing, but my room was spacious and clean. I thought the layout of the hotel was superb. The breakfast at the Plantation Restaurant looked a bit "tired" and was expensive - but tasted good. The food at Le Carre was absolutely outstanding and the […] staff helpful and courteous. The beach and pool were excellent and very relaxing. Aquagym with Sebastian was worthwhile and, even though I don't speak French (but can understand a bit) he was very good at explaining every move to me. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would go back there again. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
