Saint Simons Inn by the Lighthouse - เกาะ St Simons

A great location within walking distance of the business district. A friendly staff and very clean rooms. Stay here!

The Inn is right across the road from the light house and beach. The beach at times can be a little smelly from the fishing off the pier. We went down to the beach that was a half mile from the Inn.

I found out that the rooms are owned by 24 different owners so the rooms are decorated by each owner so they are all different. My room was fine except there was no closet and no place to hang clothes. Parking is tight, don't attempt it after a glass of wine but it is convenient. The location is superb there is a lot you can walk to. The staff is helpful […] and friendly. The room carpet was dirty, mold in bathroom, towels torn with holes, bed very hard and lumpy. Not sure what the staff do, only saw them playing on computer or watching TV.

My fiance decided to take a weekend getaway to St Simons. This hotel is very quiet but within walking distance to the pier, lighthouse, shopping and great food. It is not the most updated rooms, but they are very comfortable and very relaxing. I cannot wait to go back during the summer.

Much, much nicer and considerably less expensive than the King and Prince. It's really nice to be able to walk to the many restaurants and the trolley tour leaves from the base of the pier about 100 yards away. The staff is very friendly and the room was large, clean and very comfortable. We'll stay here whenever we visit St. Simons.

The Inn at the Lighthouse is a perfect location. We were pleased with it. The only drawbacks were a bathroom (toilet and shower) the size of a postage stamp and when we arrived, there was only one bath towel in the room, no second bath towel, no hand towels, washcloths, or bath mat. This was the very best vacation! We were in walking distance of the village with restaurants and shopping, and right on the water; beautiful park for walking dogs, riding bikes, walking, for a picnic; a playground for children; miniature golf; public pool, but the hotel had a perfect pool with a seating area beside it; right next to the St. Simons Lighthouse...it […] was perfect! อ่านเพิ่มเติม

OMG! This hotel is the greatest! Clean, Convenient, friendliest staff. Within walking distance to the lighthouse, the art gallery, the beach, the pier, a park with a huge playground, water bowls at alot of different places for your pet, shops, places to eat. The one thing that bothered me was the close parking spaces in the garage that was my own fear. […] Breakfast is bagels, cereal, grits, oatmeal, fruit, juice and coffee. Someone who wants more than that can hit the sidewalk and go to th restaurant just a few steps away. But the rooms are huge. These rooms are individually owned, decorated and care for. They do not belong to the owner of the building, but he lives there also. We enjoy talking with Camey at the front desk. LOCATION = EXCELLENT the hotel was really cute. I am military and am in training. I get to see my g/f (future wife) once a month. i want to make sure the hotel is decent. no concerns. this place was great. it's a hotel but not generic. the b-fast was not worth waking up for... (the lady at the front desk raved about it) juice and some fruit. not very […] impressed.. rather dissappointed about it. BUT the rest was great! clean, location, service. my g/f and i walked back (yes walked back) from "the village" the guy working nights at the desk saw us looking at the very nice pool. it was 2305hrs.. pool closes at 2300hrs.. he offered to keep it open for us. Very nice, quaint hotel with great service. Atmosphere is casual, staff was very helpful even accomodating in resolving a billing issue. Conviently located to the village area, water park and close to beach access. Only noticable drawback is tight parking places, SUV or large vehicle parking is uncovered. Lovely small hotel. staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient to walk into the town for shopping, eating and sightseeing. I would definitely recommend this location for a getaway weekend.

The St. Simons Inn by the Lighthouse is comfortable and convenient, located an easy walk from the village of St. Simons, the pier, and Neptune Park. It was great to have a kitchenette in the room -- we were able to make our own lunches and save some time and money. The hotel's continental breakfast was fairly typical . . . cereal, coffee, juice, etc., […] but welcome, although the breakfast room was very small and sometimes crowded. The room was comfortable and clean; our only complaint was that the water pressure in the shower could have been better. The only other issue we had was with the parking spaces, which were evidently designed for Smart Cars and MiniCoopers. My husband is licensed to drive everything from a passenger car to an 18-wheeler, and he even had trouble fitting our mid-sized rental car into the parking spaces. We spent the night at this hotel and were very pleased. The location was GREAT! We had never been on St. Simons Island and were on the way to move my mom into an apartment in a nursing facility in Florida, so wanted a little R & R. The temp knocked me out flat (August in GA), but the hotel was great. I walked to the fishing pier four times, went swimming […] in the hotel pool, and found a modest little restaurant with great seafood (Iguana Seafood--recommended by the hotel staff), two short blocks away. Clean room, a bit of an unusual layout, and door knob lockset fell out when i checked out and the door couldn't close. A clean hotel but nothing that special.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. The staff were great (Camy was so helpful and polite) and the room was clean. The hotel is old and the room we stayed in really needed renovated but you could see and hear that the hotel was working on many of the rooms. Staying in this quaint little inn was all but perfect. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been a better view from the rooms, however, don't let that stop you from staying here. There's really nothing they can do about the lack of view. Everything else was awesome about this place. The lighthouse giftshop (the place to buy tix […] to climb the lighthouse) and the lighthouse was right across the road and the beach, pier and "boardwalk" just beyond that. Admittedly, there isn't much of a beach unless the tide is out, but it's still nice. There was a public pool and miniature golf course as well. We enjoyed an awesome sunset at the end of the pier. Others enjoyed fishing from the pier (fishing license required). The quaint village contains plenty of places to eat and shop. If you're looking for some beach time, just a short distance down the road are several areas available for sunbathing. We took our bicycles with us and enjoyed exploring the island by bike. The other beach areas were close enough we were able to bike to them. The mid-season cost to stay at this Inn was very reasonable. There was a continental breakfast available, but we chose to eat breakfast at one of the island restaurants instead. The hotel pool is situated among some trees which provided some shade if needed. The hotel is decorated very nicely, the staff were very courteous, we were within easy walking distance of the lighthouse, the restaruants, and shops. My sister and I had a wonderful weekend! If you are looking for something better and more intimate then a hotel, but don't want to the cost of a condo then this is the place to book! Each room owned seperately and decorated with flare and style! The pool was very clean, and had a great view of the lighthouse day/night. The location is the best part. […] We could walk EVERYWHERE! Shopping, the pier, dinning, etc... There are many to choose from at various prices that can fit even a working girls budget! Hotel needs a serious up graded.My room looked like a 17 year old decorated it with items from a local souvenir shop, the carpet and beds need replaced! long over due! not worth even the discounted price. This was a perfect place to stay on St. Simons Island. Very nice room, clean room and hotel, friendly staff. The room was slightly smaller than chain rooms as others have listed in their reviews, but it was perfect for us. The convenience to the village and the pier was perfect. Been coming to SSI for years. The first time staying at the inn. Very cute with the perfect location to everything in village.

This is the place to stay for convenience to shopping, restaurants, the pier, and the parks. The hotel is comfortable enough, but you will miss some of the niceties offered by chains: blackout curtains, more seating in the room, counter space in the bathroom, more variety for breakfast. The location made up for a smallish, but adequate room. Clean, but rug desperately needed to be replaced. Pool was closed for maintenance. Hotel is walking distance to fun shops and \restaurants.

Stay was wonderful. I would SO love to have that mattress at my house! The only disappointment was the complimentary breakfast which is only served Monday - Thursday, so we didn't have the breakfast we were expecting on Saturday morning.

Room was comfortable and service was good; only problem was there was no alarm clock in room and I was there for a conference. Everything else was fine.

We arrived a little early and asked the gentlemen to call us when/if the room came available a little early. I could tell we would never hear from him. When we actually checked in the room smelt horrible of smoke. I went down to the lobby and let him know and the gentlemen told housekeeping they were still having problems with that room. By his own […] admission the inn was not booked and knew there was an issue..so he moved us to a much nicer room. Why would they give us that room if they knew there were issues and they had others available? I took the kids down to the pool and it was filthy. It was filthy the entire stay. I really preferred the kids not even get into it. There continental breakfast was the cheapest of cheap. It was if they picked it up at the local gas station on the way in to work. We loved St. Simon's Inn. It has been very tastefully renovated and is in the best island location adjacent to the visitors' center, lighthouse, pier, and waterfront. The village restaurants and shops are just up a block but the immediate hotel area is quiet. Great location to the downtown area (village), Lighthouse and the popular dining places. Staff went out of their way to correct error made by hotels.com. Would recommend highly and will consider for future vacations.

For a couple in their early thirties, this trip (no fault of the inn) turned out to be a bit of a flop. The weather wasn't very good, and there just isn't all that much to do on the island. Of course, this _was_ early March, so I'm certain that people staying in-season will have a different story. The room (108) was nicely furnished. The staff was […] very helpful and courteous. I was late for breakfast one morning, but a very helpful young man volunteered to fetch various things for me from the back anyway. It really is right across the street from the lighthouse, and a couple of small blocks from the main street and pier. There isn't much of a beach right there, except at low tide, but decent walk up Ocean Blvd brings you to a nice park with a beach. If you drive a bit further up, there is a larger beach that is where we spent most of our time. I cannot stress enough our disappointment with the food on the island. We must have tried just about every (non-chain) restaurant, and we failed to find anything of quality. Mind you, we are both pretty spoiled when it comes to good food, living in Atlanta, and it was off-season, so you may take this with a grain of salt. The breakfast at the inn was very basic, with bagels, toast, and cereal, but it wasn't bad for what it was. Still, we mostly went to a small cafe on the main village street, which, while not terribly good, was at least hot and served a late breakfast. I paid extra through hotels.com to have a deluxe room. When I checked in they gave me a regular room. When I showed my confirmation printout they said that did not guarantee me a deluxe room and all the deluxe rooms were booked. The room was very small. But the hotel is in an excellent location. The room was great and very comfortable. You know the room was comfortable if my 4 year old that wakes up every morning at 7am awakened at 10 am instead!!! The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

Really enjoyed the place. The entire staff was very friendly and offered help in any manner. Cozy feeling. Would highly recommend this to anyone on vacation or traveling. Location on SSI is around the most popoular eating places.
