Drove to the motel at first when we saw it we were concern about the outside appearance! Needs a new roof and some paint! But once we got to our room which was small but extremely clean! Front desk was so helpful getting us to the right bus's . We stayed 2 nights we weren't in our room much but we there to see the sights! It's close to a main road, so we figured out how to have the fan on at night to hide the noise from the cars. It was easy to catch public transportation to get to all the tourist attractions. Very affordable. Walgreens was right around the corner.

Very good hotel for the price. Very helpfull staff. Lively area with plenty of bars and restaurants. Very regular bus into the centre of san fran. Only downside is that its a bit noisy, would be quieter in the room if the door was a better fit! Overall though had parking and comfort and no problems. Stayed 2 nights in december

clean and convienient. staff is friendly and helpful. the only thing was the street noise.. but i suppose that is the trade off for all "motel-type" places.

This is a no-frills motel. No lobby, no elevators, no in-house restaurant, and no view. But our room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and everything worked. The bed was awful!!!!! It felt like sleeping on a piece of plywood with some springs beneath it. When I got there to check in I had to wait over 5 minutes without anyone even coming to help me, despite having rung the doorbell and seeing people through the window. The rooms were very clean. The service was good when needed and the location was great. Your just a walk or taxi ride away from all the hotspots. The outside of the hotel wasn't the newest looking place but I'm more into room cleanliness then a fancy façade, in which case it was perfect. I would definitely return.

This was our second trip to San Francisco in the same motel! Both experiences have been wonderful! Location was perfect and the neighbor was great! Definitely going back!

With in walkin distance of the wharf. Has microwave and mini fridge in room. Easy and cheap. Comfortable but not top of the line. Cheap ad easy.

Excellent location with buses right outside that takes u anywhere u need to go in city.Very nice are with shops and plenty of good restaurants nice neighborhood

Has a nice "Old Sonoma" feel. Wifi is mostly not usable. Cafe next door for breakfast or lunch is nice. A bit out of the way - I liked that.

Loved the location, but room was uncomfortable and we had a lot of noisy neighbors at all hours of the day & night. I was awakened multiple times because of the noise from these other people, the thin walls are horrible. Staff was friendly and helpful, and good food nearby. Location right next to Marina area. Lots of shops, restaurants, cafes. Room was clean and had all regular amenities: coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge. No complaints. Hotel well situated in the middle of San Francisco. We could walk to the Fisherman's Wharf, and there also are plenty of buses passing by. As the title says, about 2 miles walking from the wharf on lombard street and a mile to the crooked street...a mile to the palace of fine art and great resteraunts surrounding the hotel. So convenient and nice. Only con is that the room was a little small - all rooms have double beds but are tightly spaced. Overall a pleasant stay. I think Marina area is a nice place to stay for those who drive and needs free parking. Back of hotel is Chestnut St with Starbucks, Pete's coffee, plus a host of dining options esp recommend this Sushi bar called Naked Fish - fabulous sashimi i had that for almost 4 nites straight. Also a big supermart Walgreaves. No complaints […] overall except that the walls and ceiling abit thin and you can hear some thugs on the floor when people walking in the room above. Obviously this is not a 5 star hotel but for what a Hotel is suppose to be, to sleep, it's fine. The neighborhood is nice surrounded by restaurants and happening bars.

This was a terrible place. No one ever in the office, couldn't call the office because of a phone system problem, the place needed updating, and there was a chance the customers may have to park on the street because their parking lot was too small to acommodate them. I can't believe Expedia listed this "joint" as a hotel.

Good location, friendly staff, free parking, free internet, but not so fast. Cleaniness is OK, microwave, TV etc appliances available. Quiet place, if your neighbours are quiet :))) The location of this place is the most significant for me for choosing this motel. By the way, Lombard street has a plenty of similar motels - some better, some not.

It's a "nothing fancy" hotel but the location is perfect for walking around San Francisco's Marnia area. Lots and lots of great eating places were no more than a couple of blocks away. The room is kind of small, the TV was funky, but over a good place to stay for what we paid.

I thought the room was great for the price and loved the location. All the other hotels in the area were much more. We only wanted a place with a bed and didn't spend much time in the room so it was perfect for us.

I asked for a roll away bed in requests only to be told at check in that they do not have any at this property. They don't change bed sheets, i guess, because my husband counted 6 long hairs on the sheet after pulling the bed spread down to get into bed. The hotel is located on a very busy street but it met all our needs. The room is functional and clean whilst the hotel itself is very close to a large number of bars and cafes in nearby Steiner and Chestnut Streets. Public transport options are pretty good. The location's great - Chestnut Street right behind the hotel is wonderful for shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and even a supermarket. The bus into town (no 30) stops right there too, very handy. It's a motel format where your room opens directly onto the courtyard where the cars are parked, just off the main street. The hotel's basic but all you'd […] need if you're on a city break like us and not spending much time at the hotel. The fridge and microwave in all the rooms was handy too. It was really clean and we had lots of space in our room. It was noisy, both from traffic on the very busy Lombard Street (and we were at the back of the hotel, as far as possible from the road) and from other guests coming back to the hotel late and talking loudly or even shouting late into the night and the early morning. We also had an unfortunate incident of a drunk couple talking and taking cocaine right outside our door at 2am one Sunday. They were guests at the hotel, but this had nothing to do with the hotel, it could have happened anywhere, so I'm just mentioning it to remind others to keep their hotel rooms locked when they're in them. Any other hotel in any city could have had this happen - it just happened to be this one while we were there. The location for this little hotel was great. We especially like the surrounding neighborhood. Lots of great places to eat and drink. Perfect access to the Golden Gate Bridge if you're heading to Napa.......

I would stay here again. I did not have great expectations as the hotel was inexpensive and it was exactly what I expected. All the previous reviews mentioned location and feeling safe in the neighborhood which is exactly what we wanted and what we got.
