Kamandalu was a fabulous place to stay for our time in Ubud. We had rented a Chalet, but were pleasantly surprised upon arrival that we had been upgraded to a Villa. The room was impeccable, as was the entire property. The staff were beyond friendly and made us feel like royalty! The only potential downside (though it didn't impact us) was the location. […] if you are expecting to be able to walk into Ubud this isn't the place for you. The hotel does run free shuttle service, but the times were a bit limited for our needs. Kamandalu resort location and staff where excellent. Will definitely be returning to this resort. It is currently undergoing upgrades and expansions which has been handled well by management and will only make it better once the new Spa is completed along with reception.

Lovely hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Staff is warm and friendly. I found everyone in Ubud to be a delight to deal with. Food is delicious. Great options, from Western options to Asian.

Great hotel, staff and area. It was very peaceful and well maintained and the service was superb. One thing I'd improve is we were given a room with two smaller beds, not ideal for a honeymoon. The grounds are stunning. We stayed in a pool villa which made all the difference. The room itself was only ok. Not as big as I thought. Substandard closet space. Poor fridge. Beautiful hotel, great breakfast, beautiful rooms. They have a shuttle that takes you to downtown Ubud in 10 minutes. Definitely would stay there again.

The pools were well kept and the swim up bar was a great feature. The hotel is a little remote but accessible to Ubud by taxi and the hotel shuttle so not really a problem..

Loved it, loved it, loved it... the only negative issue I had was that the air conditioning unit only went to 18 degrees, so would have been better if it was a touch colder @ night.

The infinity pool at the bottom of the hotel was a haven for us, spectacular views and so peaceful and quiet, exactly what we came to Ubud for. Our outdoor shower was also a real treat! Lovely staff and a very pleasant atmosphere at the hotel.

The hotel upgraded us to the 2 bedroom villa which was amazing, loved the pool, outdoor shower and day bed outside. Staff are extremely nice, always very helpful! Breakfast was ok, could be a bit better though for the price paid. The room was great & grounds really well maintained,however we werewelcomed by noisy construction that should have been mentioned upon booking which was the downer as we booked to have a relaxing time not stay on a road works site during the holiday..................

We loved this place - after a long haul flight and arriving in the middle of the night we were warmly greeted and given refreshments before being taken to our rooms. Our rooms were very luxurious and there were lots of small extra touches that added to the luxury of this Resort. Kamandalu is a lovely hotel - extremely quiet, comfortable and very much like a village. We had a two bedroom villa, room 102, and the overall space was enourmous, bed was huge, clean and comfortable and the garden spaces where imaculate. I spent most of my days (we stayed for 10) reading on the beautiful thatched roof outdoor bed, complete with flynets, […] big comfy pillows etc. Staff were really lovely and always happy to help. There is currently major construction work taking place at Kamandalu but every effort has been made to 'hide' this and our villa was some distance away so noise wasnt a problem. It may be worth checking the location of the room so this isnt an issue. My only real complaint is that some aspects seem rather temporary and I suspect this is because of constuction work underway. The guest Lounge/gallery where afternoon tea is served is a soul-less space and we gave up going for this because we couldnt stand to sit there. Very nice hotel for our honeymoon in Ubud Bali. Staff very friendly. The hotel is very clean, new and modern equipment always in Balinese style. The villa is amazing and very big. My husband and I loved this hotel, everything is great, the private room-village, the views from every single point of the hotel is amazing! this place is everything one hope for a great relaxing vacation. The pool has the most amazing view to the rice fields. A plus definitely is the complementary shuttle to town.

This is a great hotel and we had a lovely time. Staff are super friendly (as always in Bali) and massages are of really high quality. HOWEVER, there is construction work and noise between 9am and 6pm so if you want to sleep in then this may not be the hotel for you but if you get up before 9am then it's the best you can get in the Ubud region. Stayed in a Pool Villa and wow - very romantic setting. We had 3 nights of pure luxury. Kamandalu is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are gorgeous (we had a garden villa)... my only reservations are that there aren't enough free shuttles into Ubud centre (5 a day and none at either lunch time or dinner time!) and the food at the hotel is expensive and not good for vegetarians... but other than that it was just lovely.

The hotel is pleasant but i dated: it has a very small swimming pool and normally all the deck chairs were taken. The staff is very helpful and kind, but the property needs a make over to compete with other up market resorts.

Spent 4 nights at Kamandalu in a pool villa and had a great time. The room and service was fantastic. They are currently doing a lot of renovation work to some of the villas and public areas and judging by what we saw, the resort will be stunning when it's finished. If you happen to get an unrenovated room, you might be a little disappointed, although […] we never saw one. My only complaint was the breakfast.
