I had a seminar in New Rochelle and decided to save on a hotel. The room was clean but the bed was hard. There was little more than a sheet provided to keep warm. The foot traffic outside my window and through the hotel kept waking me up through the night. I received a call late at night asking me if I received my guest??!! It was the front desk.... […] I told him no and he hung up quickly. I don't even want to know what that was about. The neighborhood seemed dangerous, but I did not have any personal trouble. The hotel was easy to get to and very close to the subway. I did get into the city and catch some great tunes for the evening. The staff seemed sketchy, but, I survived. The hotel and staff were AWESOME!!

This hotel is clean and close to pubic transportation, my only complaint is the bed! I felt I was sleeping on a bed of nails! All that was needed was a pad thick enough to suppress the coils.

Over priced, right under the subway so very loud inside as well. I had tried to prebook my stay but was told only 2 of my nights had openings. Got there then they had openings but at almost twice the rate.

Went to a baby shower is the Bronx and the hotel was at a perfect location, very near to where we were going. Our room was to the back didn't hear the train at all. I would recommend this hotelt to family and friends.

Stayed there to take my son to St Barnabas Hospital the following morning. No one knew where the hospital was - it turned out to be 3 blocks away - no one spoke English. Was given a Smoking Room - Wanted Non Smoking - Toilet didnt flush - the Hallway smelled like marajuana - Dont stay there with KIDS>

I spent one night . I wanted to go for a gateaway with my girlfriend and it was perfect. The only this.g that could be better is that there was no microwave or refrigerator . Also the train its too close and there's a lot of noise but other than that I was happy because i just wanted to be alone

The only thing that was not good about the hotel was that the staff could not give us proper directions as to how to get there, we called numerous times and were given vague directions which isnt good! When we finally arrived at the hotel after being lost for 2 hours it was pleasantly and surprisinlgy nice!! The room was very clean and comfy and the […] bathroom was spectacular except for the smal shower curtain that didnt seem to fit since it didnt go all the way around the tub. All I could hear was the subway all night. The towels in the room were stained yellow. Didn't take a shower the next morning because I didn't want to use the towels.

This is my second stay at this hotel. I am a native New Yorker so I had no problems with the location. However, if you are a tourist looking for a cheap rate, this is NOT the location for you. it is deep in the Bronx in a not so nice neighborhood. The bed was just ok and there were no rats or roaches which is always a good thing. Best feature of this location? train is literally across the street, there's a parking lot so you always have parking which can be hard to find in NY, and the best part? the rate! i got a 3 night stay here for the price of 1 night in Manhattan. you can't expect much from the bronx, and you shouldn't. the bed here was quite unpleasant. room temperature control was poor. no large towels. bathroom was a pain in the /// to flush. breakfast was a joke. The Place for crooss the street are very dangerous. The Hotel no problems I refer to place around the street, West Farm Square Park place transit.

Decent hotel for a few nights, very close to metro which is a huge plus. The guy that works at night is a cranky dude. The rooms look clean for the most part, I was only there temporarily. The crowd/area seems kind of sketch but the room will do. I would go there again.

I was in the Bronx for 1 night for an interview. I stayed at this place and was surprised at how good it was. It was close to the place I interviewed and I recommend it to anyone who is just going to in be in an out of the Bronx - especially if they are use to a suburban lifestyle ie me. Don't be fooled.....we looked between the mattress...the wood....only to wake up the next morningt with an infestation all over the bed!!!!! Omg we were horrified. We did the research and took the proper measures to make sure we didn't bring them home! Hotels know when they have bed bugs...how wouldn't they.???

The neighborhood was pretty seedy, and it's a little ways from the city. But it's near a train and the price was awesome.

We wanted to visit New York City but didn't want to pay NYC prices for a hotel. We found this HoJo and it was perfect. The rate was a third of what I had previously paid elsewhere in NYC and it was across the street from a subway station which made getting to anywhere on Manhatten Island a breeze. The hotel is not a five star but it's was newly renovated […] and our room was nicely done and had the accommodations we needed for our two night stay. It really was not as bad as I was expecting after reading others reviews. The neighborhood is definitely not the best, but with how close it is to the train, we did not have any problems. slow and rude staff. bad neighborhood staff walked right into our room without knocking or anything, and for no reason ( was not check out time) TV and toilet were not working upon arrival. After 4 calls and 2 hours, they came to fix it. Absolute worst. The location of the hotel is definitely its best asset: it's very close to a subway station going stright to Manhattan. Unfortunately, its proximity with the subway also makes it almost impossible to sleep unless you wear earplugs... It was better than I thought: I was simply awed by the size of the room and the cleanliness of the whole hotel. The view from the window was as expected: transit trains passing by but not disturbing once the windows shut. Upon arrival, the personnel was very courteous and everything was taken care of within 5 minutes. you get what you pay for! No wonder why it was cheaper than most hotels. The room was spacious and ok but the hotel is located right next to the train rail therefore it is very very loud. I woke up at least 7 times through the night. As far as service, they have no fridge, no microwave, no elevator, no wireless. and when I needed to find the city location […] of s specific zipcode, I asked the receptionist if he could assist me in checking on google.com/map he told me his Internet is not available. We picked this Howard Johnson because we visited the Bronx Zoo. Very close to the Zoo and very convenient. We asked for extra pillows etc. and the staff was very helpful.

I did not expect for the hotel to have the "L" right at my window. I did not expect to have roaches in the room. I did not expect for the towels to be in the condition they were in (not good). I did not expect to see so many ladies of the night with their guest. I also did not expect to be dealing with Con Edision right outside my window at 8am Sunday […] morning doing work. Hotels in NY are expensive, so for the price it was great. Unfortunately if you are not familiar with NY your better off staying in Manhattan. You have to take a few trains to get around and the "hood" is not the safest, but if your a Native New Yorker returning home for a visit it's not bad at all. The room was not very clean. Service desk was poorly maintained, and at one point had no one who could even understand English. The hotel is located under the elevated train so if you're looking for peace and quiet, you may want to reconsider. The price was extremely reasonable, but we at least expected a clean bathroom with clean towels.

tHE SUROUNDING AREA WAS TERRIBLE

This was the worst experience I've ever had at any hotel and I travel alot. This hotel is right below the overbridge that transports the subway trains and causes hell lot of a noise...i stayed two days and shifted to other end to avoid noise..the hotel is not very clean and toilet flushes had to be pressed really really hard if you want all your s** to get flushed out.

離地鐵走路二分鐘，即使就在地鐵站旁 也不至於吵雜到無法休息 附近就有速食店或洗衣店 對於不想花大錢在住宿上的自助者 是家不錯的選擇!!

O Hotel se situa a aproximadamente 40 minutos do centro de Nova York de metro localizado praticamente na porta. O trem passa em um viaduto sobre o hotel, mas o quarto dos fundos não tem muito barulho. O local tem mercado próximo. O custo é bem razoável mas tem de enfrentar o trem. O atendimento é bem razoavel e o café é o típico americano.

L'hôtel est très bien situé à environ 30 minutes de Times squares (vraiment 30 minutes), il y a une station juste à côté et c'est pas très loin (10 minutes de marches) du zoo du Bronx. En couple, nous y avons passer 1 nuit. L'hôtel semble un peu délabré, mais la chambre était propre. Par contre, on pense que c'est vraiment 1 hôtel pour dormir, se laver […] et pas plus! Il y a 2 bémols: -L'hôtel est situé très très près d'un métro aérien, donc le bruit des rames est vraiment conséquent!! -L'hôtel se situe dans le Bronx, les gens sont sympas mais à l'arrivée tu sens vraiment que tu es dans le Bronx... Vous êtes sous les rails du métro alors cela fait beaucoup de bruit. L'hôtel est en rénovation alors sest sale. Nous avions payer pour une carte d'appel pour faire des long distance. Le téléphone fonctionnait pas. Nous avons su que il fallait payer les appels locaux ensuite. Odeur de cigarette et de humidité.
