Meh, The staff was interesting to say the least. The lobby is kept locked in the evening, and I had a difficult time getting the desk clerk to open the door. Given the location and the price , overall a decent stay.

We loved the location of this motel, right in Old Town, and with super convenient parking. The breakfast was good, in a nice restaurant setting. The bed was a little hard, but the room was great for the price. Being right next to the Old Town Metro Station is a big plus.

Walking distance to Old Town but motel is dated and the beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. Motel is run down and in dire need of a renovation.

Everything was great, comfortable, nice neighborhood and very clean . Awesome restaurants and shopping near the motel. Yet, check out the plumbing before you settle in, bad toilet plumbing.

We really liked it ... Close to the interstate and Old Town San Diego. If you're looking for a clean, friendly place to stay with an included breakfast in the morning and don't want to break the bank, this is a nice place to stay, we are going to be going to Old Town again before too long and this is where we plan to book our stay ...

We really enjoyed it, the front desk staff was friendly, professional and accomodating. The housekeeping staff was friendly and when we asked for more coffee ... they were very accomodating. Room was spacious and clean except for the carpet I would advise you not to walk around barefoot or let children play on the floor... The furniture really needs updating/fixing as drawers did not open or almost fall on you.. The hotel is really good, it is clean, the location is great, and the service was excellent, very friendly and "Mike" was very helpful. Didnt spend too much time in the hotel, just sleep overnight, eat breakfast and then out for the whole day. They offer continental breakfast, which is good. I did not realize from photos that it was a motel. I don't believe any of the rooms look like the pictures. We booked 2 rooms. The first was already occupied and the second room had the most horrifying stench. Suffice it to say our stay only lasted 2 seconds. The staff was very gracuoys and helpful

8 minutes away from Mission Beach and Belmont amusement park. As well as walking distance from old town San Diego this hotel was in a great location. My room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful shush and the continental breakfast included they make your own waffle station. My family and I will definitely return.

great value for the money we paid...convienent to downtown and olde town San Diego. right around the corner from the highway...down fall.. central heating and cooling system...needed fans to cool the room..staff was really nice, gave us their fan and then I bought one also..and left it with them...

It was alright, although the maid service was not as good as the other times that I have stayed at Padre Train Inn. I try to book this hotel for my bimonthly trips to visit my family in San Diego. My third time here. Fare place. Not too fancy but is not mediocre. Employees are friendly. Rooms are clean the beds are hit or miss some of them are hard as a rock but comfortable. There is a lounge bar in facilities and is a cops hang out so it's safe. Very close to Old town and pretty much everything else. Very satisfied

The room looked "tired" but the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay in that area again for the convenience of location and transit, but would compare the other area motels/hotels. I was disappointed with the high tax fee ($60) after I booked - guess I didn't read the fine print well enough!

We were pleasantly surprised and happy because the hotel is right across the street from Old Town San Diego so we didn't have to pay to park and could just walk across the street to enjoy the town. Not far from Sea World, etc. Nice continental breakfast with nice waffle maker too. Liked the little fridge in the room and the coffee maker as well.

Overall the room was clean but the furniture wasn't in the best shape (one night stand actually had a piece of the drawer cut out and it looked like it was used to repair the other nightstand). The bathroom door wouldn't close or lock. When taking a shower the water would get extremely cold, then extremely hot, then ok. An older hotel, but nicely maintained. Perfectly located across the street from Old Town and very convenient to the Tour Trolly. We visited all the sights we wanted to see in San Diego and never had to drive or worry about parking. Close to MCRD where I wanted to visit and easy on and off from I-8. The location was good, close to church which is convenient. Although the room needs an improvement, the water on the shower changed the temperature all the time which was annoying, the blanket sheet had some hair on it. Overall, it was okay considering it's close to most restaurants and tour sites.

The motel was extremely affordable, spotless, close to Old Town, and the staff was polite. A five minute walk has you right in Old Town but you do have to walk through some nondescript neighborhoods to get there. The value is undeniable - wi-fi, "continental breakfast", plenty of hot water... My room was immaculate but I did have some neighbors sitting […] in front of their room smoking and that did seep into my room. Yuck.
