"Huge room with great breakfast"
The room was huge and beds soooo comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in the lobby and saw the huge fireplace, beautiful breakfast area and homemade cookies by the desk! We were there only for one night, but we made use of the amenities by eating their snack food at night, and having the morning breakfast (eggs, sausage, fruit, cereals, […] waffles and great coffee with flavored cream). I would highly recommend this hotel. "Average at Best"
My fiancee and I spent 3 nights here to see Helen, GA. It was just "okay" and I think I know why people rate it average. The staff was friendly, the mattress was comfortable. How much you like it depends on what your needs are and what you are accustomed to in a hotel. A few articles in the room showed fingerprints and smudges (i.e. desk, nightstand) […] but the room was basically clean. The room layout was a nuisance in that there is no sink to wash your hands in the bathroom, you have to do so in the main area. Also, if someone is showering you have to wait as there is no privacy door or stall for the toilet. The complimentary breakfast was just okay. Powdered eggs and sausage patties, 2 coffee types (reg & decaf), biscuits, and pre-cooked waffles in a bag that you simply microwave to your liking. Apparently they hate wasting food as the sausage patties that didn't get eaten on Sunday morning were re-warmed and served with Monday's breakfast. Yuccch! The place could use some remodeling, starting with the older TV sets and the cheap wall prints. We stayed in a 2 queen bed non-smoking room that somehow at times had a hint of smoke. The heating system was also a nuisance in that the thermostat did not respond well to suttle temperature ranges. As such, we endured a room that was either too hot or too chilly during our stay. The greatest benefit of the hotel was the location, which allowed us the option of a short walk to several restaurants and attractions. "Outdated, Dirty and Loud"
We had never been to Helen so we decided to stay a night and check it out. At first glance the room was your typical lower-end hotel. The carpet was stained and the decorative pillows were ripped and dirty. There were spots on the ceiling where an attempt was made to touch up paint but it was grossly mismatched. The shower mat was brown and grungy. […] We hadn't stayed in a room this bad since college (25 years ago) but we decided since it was only for a night we could rough it. We walked to Helen knowing this hotel was not really very convenient to the main action. After spending a very nice day in Helen we walked back to the hotel and my daughter took a shower. She came out very upset; the water had some kind of odor to it and now she reeked. She wanted to drive the 4 hour drive home so she could get that stench off of her. Not long after that we discovered that the toilet did not work and my husband got it working but it was clearly not going to keep working. My daughters said the water smelled like sewage and I have to agree that is was that strong. The rest of us did not take a shower as we did not want that stink on us. She had to take another shower with our bottled water so she could get the smell off her. There was loud partying and motorcycle revving most of the night. Sure it was the last weekend of Oktoberfest however this noise was beyond what we could tolerate. We didn't get much sleep; drunk obnoxious people were banging on the door and window as they walked by. In the morning I went to the front desk to complain and right in front of the entrance someone had thrown up all over the sidewalk, you could not miss it (my husband said it looked like it had been there a while). When I complained about the room I was told that I already received a discount so take up my complaint with Hotels since we booked through them. "comfortable hotel"
Very comfortable rooms with down feather bedspreads. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only problem was the internet would not stay connected. We were in room 210.
"Great town to visit and hotel to stay!"
Convenient location. Playground for kids and a walk to the river was less than 2 minutes away- across the street. Wonderful German town feel! We loved having snacks and drinks available 24 hours...Thanks!

"Comfy but noisy"
The room was very comfortable and larger than expected. Breakfast was a disappointment though- the eggs we decidedly fluffy by 9am and there was a lack of variety. Also, the odd numbered rooms face on to the parking lot and outside deck of the neighboring bar which can make for a convenient walk to dinner but a long wait for a quiet nights sleep.

we had an awesome time.hotel was great rooms were very clean staff was friendly.we had our privacy sign on the door for the 3 nights we were there didnt really need room service cause were pretty clean people but they did leave a bag on our door every morning with all clean towels,toiletries and coffee.awesome stay will be back
"Mixed reviews"
The fan kept the noise from the bar across the way tolerable. There was some basic cleaning that could have been done in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was a nice variety of food. We could walk downtown easily and enjoyed state park and the falls nearby.
"Quiet and clean"
The room was very clean and comfortable. There were not alot of people staying there so it was very quiet, which was great! It was also very close to everything in town. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

"Helen's Best Western - nice hotel, great staff"
Our visit was in December during a slow period before the Holiday season officially kicked off. The Hotel is older but it has been updated thorought. The lobby was cozy and comfortable. Our room was very clean and spacious. We always felt welcomed and we enjoyed sitting in the lobby by the fireplace and visiting with other hotel guests and staff. Very good hotel. Spacious and clean rooms and friendly staff. The complimentary is good but the dining area is kind of small.

Perfect hotel have stayed in just about every hotel in Helen and this is at the top of the list. Centrally located very clean great staff.

I'd stay in Riverpark again...if I had to. But I wouldn't want to. It's a seedy 1950's motel in a seedy Bavarian village going downhill fast. without even being aware of it. I've stayed in worse. The rooms are enormous, but the beds are too soft. I hate it when I sit on a mattress and it sinks like a hammock. It's probably the best palce in town, but […] that isn't saying much. The hotel was great! We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was great, the breakfast was delicious, the room was comfortable, and the hotel was a warm place away from home. The hotel was located just far enough from downtown Helen that the late night party noise was not an inconvenience, but close enough to walk to events and town shops in less […] than a minute. "Nice experience at Best Western in Helen, Ga."
Although this hotel is not luxurious, it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was satisfying and the location was great, close to the shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

"Convenient, clean and a great breakfast!"
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of our stay here. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast buffet was very good. I would have liked a syrup substitute for the High Fructose Corn Syrup that was offered but other than that...it was a very nice experience.

"We would definitely stay here again"
This hotel was on the main road in Helen, Ga but was just on the edge to where all the traffic started. Everything was in walking distance of the main attractions of the town. The pool was ok, looked like it needed a little maintenance as did the outside of the hotel. Our room was very clean though. The beds were extremely comfortable and so was the […] bedding. I actually wished I could bring it home with me! Pillows were very fat though, so if you don't like that then bring your own. Since we were staying 3 nights, we did not want anyone coming into our room while we were out to clean. So we hung the "please do not disturb" sign on our door for the whole time. Each day we came back from town, housekeeping had left a new bag on our door knob with clean towels, washclothes, coffee, cups, toilet paper, trashbags, shampoo and soap. I have never had a hotel do this before and found it very considerate. The hotel has 2 stories and no elevator, so request the 1st floor if you don't want to climb steps. We were also within maybe a block to the Cool River Tubing check-in point. We walked from our hotel room to there with no problem. Seemed to be a very safe area. Breakfast was complimentary every morning until at least 10am. It included belgian waffles, biscuits, gravy, sausage, an egg casserole that was so-so, instant oatmeal/grits, cold cereal, fruit, and maybe bagels(not sure, we had the waffles everyday). "Helen Best Western"
Everything went well. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The housecleaning staff honored our "privacy please" sign and left us alone. Every day they provides us with extra towels hanging on our door. The only drawback was the proximity to the restaurant/lounge called Bigg Daddy's. "niets bijzonders hotel in leuke omgeving"
Hotel niet bijzonder maar oke. Centrum is aan te lopen. Ontbijt is gratis naar niets bijzonders. Ontbijtruimte klein voor grote van hotel. Ruime parkeer gelegenheid. Hele dag gratis koffie en thee in de lobby.
