Overall pleasant. Great beach. Unforfunately sheets not changed everyday not for the four nights we were there. Disgraceful hygiene. Wood floor not moped and dirty. Breakfast choice limited . Poor service . Have to look for hot drinks every morning for breakfast, walking around looking for clean table to sit.

I was upgraded to an executive suite and it was truly amazing - 2 balconies, an enormous bedroom, a lounge and a dressing room. I was in heaven. Excellent resort, good rooms spread out amongst the large grounds. Two pools, large beach area, free wifi in all areas and free soft drinks in room mini bar. Highly recommend to all for a relaxing time away.

My stay was really good I wished I had stayed for a day extra. The room is ok for the price and not fancy, bathroom setup is weird as if you open the blinds people passing by can see you in the loo. Beach and the swimming pool is very pretty in the morning. Food in the hotel is good and people must not miss the dinner bbq buffet. One instance I did not like was when I had requested the receptionist for a free room upgrade if possible on my arrival and mentioned she would look into it based on availability. During checkin when I enquiried about my room upgrade I got a rude reply "I said I will only look into it and did not promise"rather than giving me a reason why it was not possible. We had a great time at Meritus Pelangi. My wife and I had one room on the top floor of a villa and our three children shared the other room on the same floor (very convenient). The rooms were a good size, each had a balcony with a pleasant view and the bathrooms were bright and clean. The airconditioning and fans worked a treat. There are two huge pools […] and all of us enjoyed using them to the max. The poolside bar got a fair bit of use as well, especially around happy hour (5pm-7pm). The location of the resort is perfect, virtually sitting on the beautiful Pantai Cenang (beach) and close to a strip with dozens of shops and restaurants. Cleanliness ok. Updated bathrooms. Spots and traces on the windows and mirrors. Calc on fossets. Clean bedsheets. Dust under the furniture. The location of the hotel is great, as was the food at the Beach restaurant. But the service of the staff was absolutely dreadful. Right from Check-in to check-out the service was SO bad, particularly for Asian standards of hospitality. Very nice hotel for family vacations - the renovations are quite unobtrusive now and the benefits are showing. The new kiddy playpool area is great. My 4 year old son spent every day playing in the water there and had a real ball. Very nice hotel with good service. It’s close to the airport but far enough you don’t have to worry about the noise. Location is great. Hotel furnishings are a bit old and worn, particularly the bathroom. Toilet did not flush properly. Staff are quite friendly and room service is very quick and efficient and food is good. It was a bit of a shame when I went that they were undergoing renovations and lot of the hotel was closed off. The in house spa provides very good treatments.

Great hotel, 5 star staff, cant thank the staff enough, made our stay extra special, nothing was to much trouble, plenty to do within the hotel complex. My one comment would be, the cats keep any vermin away from the hotel, yes they are strays, however I think more could be done to look after them.

Have just returned from our April holiday and were so pleased that we decided to stay at Meritus Pelangi -such a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and cheery, the huge breakfast was fabulous, the Malay style accommodation with lovely grounds were a feature, the two pools and surrounds were just so great - big landscaped pools with sunken bars,water […] slides, lots of shaded areas with chairs, a pool where even I (who isn't one to spend lots of time at a pool) could happily spend a long time at, was excellent, and the huge magnificent lobby with high vaulted ceiling had excellent free WIFI. April is very quiet in Langkawi so there weren't many people around, plus a little monsoonal at times, with some rain every day which cleared quickly, and weather still hot and sooo relaxing. We stayed at two hotels during our stay and loved doing that for different reasons. We really like staying at both, this one being near Pantai Cenang where there is more activity and restaurants etc so to me, the place to be. Other hotel was in Pantai Kok which is picturesque and lovely, and we enjoyed the mix. We would choose this hotel again without question. We had a beachfront unit and the view through the palm trees was gorgeous, but we would have been very happy with any unit actually, particularly one near the pool areas, or maybe closer to the lobby as the resort is very large and can be a long walk from room to reception, though a nice walk thru the gardens. Travel with 4 eldly and 1 kid, sent a request to have rooms close to the main lobby. However, nothing was arranged, the rooms were far away from main lobby, we need to walk 10 mins under the hot sun to the main lobby to have breakfast, take a cap or other activities. We booked three beach front rooms, the air con in two of the rooms were not cool enough […] and unable to adjust the temperature! We found a big cockroach on our bad when we returned to room after dinner, horrible!!! We chose this hotel because of the facilities for kids, however, we could only find a few hens, goose and ducks in the Kiki Animal Farm; and the kid's club was very old and dirty, toys were old and torn. There is only two old & dirty carpets on the floor, no soft mats on floor. The actual environment of the kid's club is totally different from that shown in the hotel profile picture. The Hotel resort was very well kept and the ground were beautiful. The staff were helpful, however, there was a lack of genuine friendliness. We stayed 2 nights at the Meritus and overall it was great. Checkin there was a delay for an unknown reason but we were given a complimentary drink and asked to relax in the lobby. The lobby is open but cool, quiet and the decor is lovely. We did have to wait for an hour but we were given a complimentary upgrade as we didnt make a fuss! The staff […] are very polite and helpful, we were buggied to our room which was on the groumd floor. The resort estate was clean, tropical abd very well kept... The superior room was huge, with a huge bed, seating area and coffee table, tv, separate dressing area aka walk in wardrobe, the bathroom was small but in good condition and very clean (as was the whole room). We also had a lake view to the rear with veranda. The breakfast was good, lots of variety to cater to all, noodles, eggs, toast, breads, pancakes, cereal, jjuice, tea coffee etc. The pool area is nice and clean, again with nicely landscaped surroundings including being able to trn ariund and walk straight onto the beach. The beach was clean and the sand was white! :) there were lots of people, but the beach was very spacious and never felt crammed. We also rented a jetski for 30 mins. Seems expensive but when you consider dinner outside of the resort, for 2 costs about £5, theres really little to complain about! We rented a car from the airport, very cheap for 2 days... Located in the beautiful Pelangi beach, a drive of about 15 mins from the Airport, MPBR is a beautiful hotel with a private beach. Within a few minutes walk are located the many many eating joints. Helpful staff of the hotel makes your stay quite enjoyable. Wish I could stay some more days.
