I would not rate the room I had (283) as a four start room. Take away the size of the room, the wallpaper seams show that it is time for an upgrade. More electrical outlets would have been great - very difficult to reach and did not make sense with the layout of furniture. I had to rearrange the plugs by the TV to plug in my cell phone and move the […] bed in order to plug in a heating pad. Also, the remote for the TV is awkward to use when in bed because the sensor to change the channels is too low on the TV stand. This was my second trip to winter carnival and the second time staying at this hotel. The first time was great, the staff was so helpful and friendly. This time it was like I was staying in a different place, staff wise.

This hotel is a combination of old and new buildings. For the same money, the rooms are of unequal size, and a night for a basic, one-queen-size-bed room is not worth the high price paid for it. Very expensive parking. No hot water for the shower with freezing cold water, tube TV sets using 1980s remote box technology, with a 12 x 13 room. Friendly staff, safe area, easy access to historic Old Quebec City (over 400 years old) and museums. The 3 1/2 star rating for this hotel is not warranted, at best a 2 star hotel. The perfect spot to feel the tradition. Very in the middle between historics quaters, modernity and night life. Peoples are kindfull

The hotel was very nice, staff was helpful & friendly. Only thing was that it was a busy weekend there due to a cyclist race that was happening, making it very busy on sidewalks, restaurants & shops. If we knew this was happening, we would have booked another weekend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Chateau Laurier. It was close to restaurants and just a three minute walk to the Old Quebec gates. The room was spacious and clean. We really enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs. Old Quebec City has a very romantic feel to it, and your trip won't be complete until you go on a horse-drawn carriage ride through Old Quebec […] city. This is a wonderful location when you want to walk to the best Old Quebec has to offer. Unfortunately, my room was very small... as was the bed for two people.

All staff of this hotel are very kind, polite, friendly and helpful. I really appreciate it. There is a restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel where you can have a breakfast. The staff at the restaurant are also nice. They are always smiling, which making all guests happy!!

This was a bad experience for the price I paid! I had to take 2 different elevators at different ends of the hotel to get to my room. Rooms are tiny, beds are old and not that comfortable. The hotel has a confusing layout with multiple wings and poor signage.

Great hotel in a very interesting location between the Plains Of Abraham and Fauberg St Jean. Perhaps a bit far for some to walk to Lower Old Quebec, but near the Upper Town. Nice hotel in great area, however, the rooms are some of the smallest I have ever stayed in in North America or Europe. It is a nice facility with a competent staff just wish the room had been bigger.

Great location, great front reception staff, however the maid service was absent. stayed for two nights and made the bed myself as well as took out the garbace and the recycling as no one came to our room while we were out to clean. I would still stay at this hotel as the other staff were wonderful

So my partner and I stayed at the Chateau Laurier this past weekend for the Quebec Summer Festival. I must say the hotel overall is fantastic. Great loaction, the front reception was excellent with their customer service, and they have a great courtyard to sit and relax. We were there for 2 nights and the beds weren't made the second day, I took the recycling out (as well as garbage) and luckly i kept the coffee pack i used the day before because I had to use it again the next day. We stayed here for 3 nights, having been in QC earlier on this trip when we stayed for 2 nights at the Chateau Frontenac. Big difference. But we liked the location and the salt water spa on the terrace. Be advised that this hotel is uphill from both the upper and lower towns -- great on the way down, pretty steep on the way back up though. It was in […] the 90s (f) while we were there so the heat combined with the incline was a bit much -- in cooler weather wouldn't be quite as taxing. Did not provide breakfast coupons or choice of coupons. Provided drink coupons which we could not use. Some customers had breakfast coupons without which breakfast is very expensive for family.

great hotel very well situated enjoyed my stay very close to old quebec and conference center. Room taken in new wing was clean confortable

Hotel looks nice and staff are friendly. Love Quebec City. However, my room was located on the first floor facing a busy tourist street. I could make eye contact wth passers by! No privacy. To make the matters worse, the level of noise (mostly from the street, but to some extent from the corridor) was excessive and unacceptable. There was loud music […] and street noise everynight until 4:00 am. I could not sleep at all. When I complained to the desk and the manager asking for a different room, they told me that the were fully booked and promptly gave me a pair of ear plugs to use. This is not acceptable given the hotel's almost 4-star rating. Even if they were fully booked, I should have been given other options: e.g., upgrading, or sending me to another afiliate hotel. This hotel is in the thick of things downtown, but much like a European hotel, it lacks any kind of ammenities or comfort. Fine if you are traveling in the summer and just need a place to sleep. Choose differently if you need a room to stretch out in.

The hotel is perfectly located for visiting the old city (just a 5 minute walk). In addition, the main street in front of the hotel is loaded with outdoor cafes with excellent food. For the price, you can't beat this hotel.

This hotel was very convenient to Old Quebec, however, the hotel did not provide us with the room we purchased on Hotels.com. We reserved a room with a king or queen bed, we upgraded so that we would get a larger room size. When we arrived, we were early and the room was not ready, so we put our bags in the storage room and went and spent the day sight […] seeing. When we came back at 4 pm, we got our room key and it was the smallest room I ever had with regular double bed, but no queen or king. When I went to the desk, they told me that whatever is reserved from hotels.com or expedia is not honored or guaranteed, that all rooms are the same size. This was a lie. I was kind of ticked off, especially after the wonderful experience in Montreal at Hotel DuFort, but Quebec City was so much fun, I did not spend much time in the room anyway. Location of this hotel was fabulous-within walking distance from all attractions. Staff was very friendly and concierge was helpful planning our visit. The only drawbacks were that the room was quite small and the plumbing was not well insulated. We could hear the water running through the pipes in the wall whenever anyone used the water. Hôtel bien située, près de tout. Notre chambre donnait sur les plaines d'Abraham et était très claire et confortable. Nous avons bien apprécié le jacuzi extérieur après 2 jourd de ski au Massif de Charlevoix. Excellent petit déjeuner.
