We were in the Prince Edward Suite for Friday and Saturday night of Mardi Gras weekend. Even though I rated the four categories as superb, I gave an overall rating of pleasing due to the high cost. The suite consisted of 3 rooms. A living room opened off the hallway. It had a door to the outside shared patio, 2 comfy chairs, tv and a wet bar sink with […] mini-fridge and expresso maker. The bedroom included a king size bed, nightstand, dresser, bench, TV, and a walk in closet. The bathroom was huge with a glass walled jacuzzi tub, a shelf, pedestal sink, and toilet. The outside patio included stairs down to the pool area but the door only locked from the inside, so you can't come and go by way of these stairs. The patio, covered in wood decking, that I think is the roof over the continental breakfast area (meaning, the patio is solid, not wood decking like you'd see at a house) was always wet from periodic rain showers. So I would suggest the hotel place a squeegee on the patio so guests can brush the water away. We wanted to sit outside and drink coffee in the morning but we didn't want to have to wear shoes or roll up our pants. Parking was the only other issue. On Esplanade it is 15 minute check in or out parking only. After checking in, we foundthe NOPD writing us a ticket. She was rude and didn't want to take our explanation as guests checking in for an answer. I was excited about staying here but disappointed in the service and over-hyped amenities. It started before we even arrived as I had booked one of their Master Suites and specifically needed (due to a health condition) the room with the jacuzzi. You can request for this room but they won't guarantee it?! We did end up with the jacuzzi, but it wouldn't […] even fill up before running out of hot water! We also weren't greeted upon arrival. We arrived around 10 AM due to an early flight, and wanted to drop our luggage off so we could start enjoying the city. You would think we were making an unusual request and it was clear we were in the way. The "upgraded continental breakfast" is coffee, juice, yogurt and pastries. They were all good, but I'm not sure what makes this upgraded? Some hard-boiled eggs and some fruit would be a nice addition. They also don't tell you when breakfast is available or the wine/cheese they serve at night. A card in the room with these details would be a way to improve overall service. Finally, when we checked-out there wasn't even a simple "Thank you for staying with us" or "We hoped you enjoyed your stay." This was not what I had in mind for southern hospitality! Overall, however, we did enjoy ourselves. It's clean, well- designed, and the location was perfect. I just think there could be a few small efforts on the part of the staff to make you feel welcome. We got to the Melrose Mansion for our first (and last) trip to NOLA and were impressed. It looked really nice and had a lot of charm. The young man working for the hotel that night was nice and helped us check in. The picture for the Napolean suite online is not what you are guaranteed. Our room was not the picture. However the Napolean suite #5 does […] have a small area to the front that seemed private, at first. We woke up to construction early every morning, the cleaning staff works outside of a room just outside the door, you also get the surprise of your stuff getting wet because the custodial staff sprays the doors with no seal down with a full throttle hose in the mornings. There arent covered walkways- so expect to get wet any time you need to navigate the hotel. There was an option to pay a high fee to park in a very small parking area (might be able to get 2 cars in the lot). We didnt go for that option. We parked just on the corner of Esplanade and Burgandy right outside the hotel, LEGALLY. We came back the next night to discover our car missing. It had been towed and impounded by the city that was hired by a production company, "Remember Sun", to relocate it. The Hotel staff was to notify all tenants to inform us of filming- because filming signs were not up like supposed to be 48hrs in advance. We spent hours trying to figure out where our car was, what was going on, and what to do. Nobody would give us any info or own up to this costly mistake [$175!!!]. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

The location allows you to enjoy the tranquility of the neighborhood with easy access to the madness of Bourbon Street and not have to deal with all the chaos at night if you do make it home to sleep. The hotel had a couple of glitches, hot water ran out the night we were there and we had to call down 3 times to get a blow dryer for my wife. The place is nice and yes we will give it another chance, staff was nice as they could be.

The hotel was beautifully designed, with comfortable bedding and a nicely maintained pool and garden area. To a pair of really picky eyes, the room was not as clean as it could have been, but overall it was fine. The thing to love is feeling like you're staying in a gorgeously designed home while you soak up New Orleans culture.

I loved this hotel because it wasnt a generic room at the multi room chain. The staff was so friendly and attentive...gave us wonderful reccomendations on the surrounding neighborhood and even some local history. I would definitely reccomend this property for someone looking for some old world southern charm.
