Drainage in bathroom needs immediate attention as the floor in constantly wet, and one has to paddle through water to use the toilet. This has been a problem for sometime as the skirting boards at the entrance to the room have been water damaged.

Perfect fir what we wanted which was to go to the grand prix. Internet and prints facilities in the business centre were old but reception were kind enough to help with printing.

The room was not good. Some rooms don't have windows at all and it was assigned to me first but upon request they changed it but the bathroom tap water didn't have any pressure. When i complained, they didn't care. I would not stay in this hotel...

excellent location to be in the CBD. right outisde flinders station. across the river from southbank. Plenty of food options around within walking distance. No wifi which is a shame. most rooms face adjacent buildings so no view. good value for money.

Ideally situated opposite Flinders Street Station and central for CBD and retail therapy. Surrounding properties a little scruffy but once inside every thing changes. The staff could not be more helpful and rooms very well presented

Friendly staff at the reception. Let us check into our room earlier than 2pm. Clean rooms with very comfy beds! Hotel is in a fantastic location. Would stay again!

The hotel is perfectly situated especially for anyone going to the Australian Open. It is definitely value for money. The staff at reception do a terrific job and are very helpful. Only minor gripe is some of the towels are a bit shabby.

Over the first week of the Austalian Open we found the Citigate hotel to be very conveniently situated to the free shuttle to the tennis, Flinders station and the free tourist city tram. Great location, right opposite the Flinder Train Station, by taxi only 25 mins, $57.80. The tram stop also close in front of hotel and it includes the free city loop (No 35) tram. The room is spacious and very comnfortable. Easy walking distance to the National Museum, Federation Square and most of the city attractions. Lots of eating places and shops […] nearby. very handy part of the City close to shops and Southbank and very clsoe to transport as well, sevice was a little slow at the checkin and the 100 bucks they take due to the mini bar was also news to me has not been refunded yet either, but told it would take a few days, overall room was comfy and cool.

Hotel is nice. Service was great. Our in-room air conditioning didn't work but we were too tired to make a big issue over it. They didn't offer to let us change rooms. We would stay at this hotel again only because of its convenient location.

There was nothing terrible about this hotel, it just is not a 4.5 star, or a 3.9 on guest ratings. We booked it based on the reviews/rating from beforehand which had it beating other hotels (which when we saw them in Melbourne, they are nicer!) Also we booked for 3 people and got two single beds. Staff were so helpful. We arrived very early morning and were given a room to rest until our twin room was available. First hotel I have ever experienced to do that!

The front desk agreed to our request for twin bed but it didnot ...i must thank to Irwan for arranging the bed in the middle of night, as the housekeeper was already off duty. housekeeping was badly done even after being assured we would have it done nicely the next day.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel, however my room was situated right next to the lift so I was constantly hearing the lift throughout the night and people talking and laughing while I was trying to sleep. I could also hear doors closing from my room. It was in a brilliant location and the staff were very friendly.

Great potential but horrible wifi issues. Some employees are rude. If you put the do not disturb sign on your door then you get an automatic interrupting annoying ring from the hotel staff in your room. Do not disturb means just that!!!

Very good stay,except that we thought that we had a 24 hour use of the parking(offsite).We misunderstood Expedia.We thught that we could use the parking for $25 per day unlimited access(in and out at will).

What sets this hotel apart from others of its type is the quality of the staff. I very much appreciated the service provided by not only the front-desk staff but also the friendly/efficient housekeeping staff.

The Reception staff was very helpful. Prepared to change room for us to the one with better view. However, they missed the room service on our second day and they did not have staff to change our sheets when we rang up since we came to the room at 10 pm that night. The previous guests complementary toiletries were still in the bathroom (half used) which was a bit off putting, however a phonecall soon got me a fresh lot (although the used ones were not taken away!) The hotel is well situated for and on the whole a pleasant stay.

If you are considering this hotel a few important facts to know.....great location with tram stop outside and fantastic laneway nextdoor of cafes. We booked a hotel room and when escorted in it looked like the room had been ransacked! Nothing but a bed and no view. With the price you are paying, you get the best overall package for this hotel. What we like most is the location: near to metro (Train) station and CBD. 25 mins walk to Queen Victoria Market. 15 mins walk to Chinatown. 5 mins walk to Collins street. Hotel staff are helpful. The hotel is in the right location , in front of flenders street train staion and tram services. Shuttle tour bus is just one block on the left Federation square, south gate and shopping arcades are very close. The hotel rooms are nicely fitted with standards amenities. Staff are helpful. My only concern is cleanliness of their bath towels
