Staff was able to provide a room by noon and on a rainy day in Chicago, that was great.

Clean, spacious room and gracious staff. One downside is no fan in the bathroom.

If you are planning a trip to Chicago, I suggest you consider staying at The Sofitel. It was not only beautiful, but the service was impeccable. The Sofitel is extremely clean; even the lobby smells amazing! The location was perfect. It is a very short cab ride (in nicer weather you could walk) to the busier downtown area and it is within walking distance […] of many restaurants, the Water Tower Mall, and other shopping. I had the small hotel feel when I stayed there and received excellent service from the doorman to the hotel desk, room service, maid service. Very cozy, clean and beautiful.

The stay was great but there was no where to refrigerate our food as we returned to the room from dinner at Lawry's.

We stayed for 3d/2n on the 32nd floor (the highest) with a city view. The room was what the pictures show it to be as a King Bed superior room. It wass by the elevator and perhaps this was the main issue that there was a constant buzzing type noise and it seemed to be caused by the actual operating noise of the elevators. The hotel is fabulous, well maintained, friendly and polite staff, convenient location. I would only suggest a coffee machine in the rooms.

Lovely hotel, really great room set up. I liked the small touches, like the loofah and nice toiletries. Hotel is 1.5 blocks from Michigan Ave. The concierge was really helpful, too.

This is a good location for people who want to stay near the Water Tower and Miracle Mile. The service at the hotel was outstanding, especially for a special dinner that I attended. Many of the staff speak French so this is also a real advantage for French speaking people visiting Chicago. I came here for my wedding night. First off when we arrived at 2 am our limo driver had doubts that we would recieve service at the late hr. we were amazed to see a bellboy ready to assist with our bags, we had fast checkin service, and the room was amazing. We even had a conplimentry surprise desert with congrats written on it sent up to us that night. […] They have 24 hr service and the best staff ready to acommodate! This is a great hotel in a great location. I love Sofitels. The staff were very helpful and the room was clean and lovely. The only issue was that there really isn't a view at all from this hotel, so if you're looking for that you might not get it here. Everything else was great. Stayed at the Sofitel for one night for a special birthday getaway - the bellhop asked why we were staying at the hotel as we went up to our room and we mentioned that it was for my birthday...next thing we know, there's a knock at our door and a bottle of champagne and two delicious chocolate desserts are being delivered! We chose this hotel because we were looking for a quick luxurious getaway in Chicago. For the money, we weren't satisfied with our room. We had a suite which was small and average. Our view was of a parking structure. The room had a funny odor, not awful, just not right. My husband and I disagree on this point: I didn't like the small shower with poor […] water pressure. He liked the rain-like shower. Aside from the front desk staff, other staff members were very friendly and helpful. The gentleman at the front desk was condescending and unfriendly. Our stay was perfect. The price was excellent, the location cannot be beat, the atmosphere at the hotel is gorgeous and the room was fantastic; clean and a great size. The food in the dining area was delicious and the service was really good. Tres chic hotel!

We had a wonderful visit. We got to the hotel early to store our bags so we could go to the museum. They worked hard and got a room ready for us within 15 minutes so we could unpack before going. The service was wonderful and the room was glorious! We will definitely come again!!

I stepped it up from my usual lower budget spots because of a decent deal on a junior suite. I'm glad I did. Parking was a little steep for either valet or the nearby garages, but that's to be expected in the middle of the city.
