Club room just the right size for a sleepover after attending a performance in the city. Comfortable and quiet.

The standard rooms are very basic, no refrigerator or safe, but the rest of the hotel has plenty of amenities, my favorite being the rotation of free snacks and hot and cold drinks in the lounge area to which you can help yourself every day. I didn't use the gym myself, but one of my colleagues who went was pretty happy with it, and they'll even deliver […] exercise equipment to your room, such as yoga kits and steppers. Free WiFi would have been great but it was way too slow to use! I often found myself using my smartphone instead of my laptop as the connection was so unreliable. The vending machine on the third floor was very reasonably priced, with I think everything costing a dollar or less. The location was good during the day, but in the evening there's not a lot going on around this part of town, and there's hardly anywhere good to eat. I only had breakfast once at the restaurant downstairs and although the atmosphere was nice and staff friendly, the food took forever to come out and was only average. The best place we ate in the area was at a German restaurant called The Berghoff which had excellent food and cocktails and a nice selection of beers as well. In all, I'd recommend this hotel for a business traveler, but perhaps spring for a room with a kitchenette if it's within your budget. We really enjoyed our stay in downtown Chicago. The hotel is conveniently located to attractions and transportation. The room was a little small, but we were only in it primarily to sleep.

We stay here because it is near Union Station; we ride Metra in from the suburbs and stay here overnight when we have a play with a run time of over 2 1/2 hours so that we'd have to take a late train home. Convenience of location is this hotel's strong point.

Hotel is located right next to the Blue and Red 'L' lines and very close to Grant Park and Lake Michigan. The Elephant and Castle Restaurant adjacent to the lobby has an excellent menu and is perfect if you have been sightseeing all day and don't want to put in too much effort searching for a place for dinner. The hotel staff was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Great location, close to bars, restaurants, theaters and shopping. Overall, it was a great stay.

This is an old hotel but the room was clean and the ammenities were nice. My only concern was the size of the bathroom. It was clean and all but VERY small. And since we were on the 8th floor we had to wait 5-10 minutes for the hot water to reach our room. The hotel was lovely, with excellent service. However, my reservation was for 3 adults and we were given a room with one queen bed. We were able to switch to a room with 2 twin beds, but ended up referring to our room as our dorm.

We had a great time in Chicago, and the hotel was perfectly placed for us. We went on vacation, however this hotel is right in the downtown loop conviniently placed for both business and leisure. I would highly recommend this hotel. The standard rooms are smaller, but they have everything you need. They also supply water and bottles to all hotel patrons. […] The business area is great with several work stations, a print, and even conference areas. There are plenty of places within 2 blocks to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This is also within a couple blocks of the Willis tower. All of the staff was friendly and accomodating. Being in the Loop had many positives for site seeing. The hotel was busy and generally well run tho because of the number of rooms and occupancy the daily cleaning schedule fell behind.

Overall we were very satisfied. Would like to see them add vending and ice machines on each floor instead of only 3rd floor. Room was a bit small but also walking distance to many attractions. We would stay here again.

Pretty room, loved the free water bottles and filtered water. Really nice staff, check in and check out was easy. We will be staying here the next time we visit Chicago for sure.

Great location. Close to the major attractions. Good restaurants nearby. Bed is comfy and clean. The bathroom needs some work. Water pressure is weak. No fan in the bathroom.

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The room was a bit small, but more than adequate for just me. I was very happy to see outlets all over the room - might seem silly but I've been in hotels where I've had to unplug a lamp to plug in my laptop! They give you a pot of coffee instead of just one cup (also easy to take for granted) and are generally nice […] and serviceable. This hotel is not as good as i thought when i stepped into my room. There are nobody help to carry your luggage to your room even though uou have many luggage and you are only one person. The room looks a bit old to me althought it was quite a big room. There are no bath tub too. You even can hear the next room conversation if they spoke out loud. Location […] wise was ok only. We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The rooms are a little small but very clean and well supplied. The exercise room is great and we appreciated the security features, using our room key to gain access. We would recommend the property very highly.

Hotel staff was VERY NICE. Room just fine. Only thing we didn't care for was the King size bed was 2 twins pushed together and it was uncomfortable do to the dip and separation. But everything else was perfect. We will stay again.

There is no question that the staff went out of their way to please the guests. This was appreciated as it counteracted the queasy sensation created by the unusually configured rooms (we changed rooms after one night due to constant noise from the nearby elevators.). It felt as if the hotel was carved out of an office building...which it probably was. […] It had the feel of a David Lynch movie. The helpful staff was terrific and saved our visit. While the room was a little crowded, this was a very nice and affordable hotel with luxury splashes. You can do Chicago right by staying here and it is in the heart of all the action.

I truly enjoyed staying at the hotel. One of the few hotel chains that is not trying to milk its customers. It offers free wireless internet in the rooms and free printing for boarding passes. I stayed here for a conference at a nearby hotel, so the location was excellent. I also think the loop is centrally located and is a short walk or bus ride to more neighborhoods. The room was perfectly adequate for my stay, and I especially liked the coffee and fruit in the lobby in the morning. Free internet and printing was great. The bathroom was […] a little strange and reminiscent of a cruise ship as there was no bath and the shower floor was level with the rest of the bathroom. It was large enough that I could keep from getting everything wet. There was also zero counterspace in the bathroom which was annoying since I was there for several days and had no place to put my toiletries. The location is perfect for walking to the Magic Mile, theater, landmark restaurants, and the financial district. This hotel may the best kept secret on the Loop. My room was quiet, the bed super comfy and the internet connection speedy. My only nit was that on Saturday evening, after I got back from Book of Mormon, I wanted some chocolate. A very good place to stay in central Chicago. The check in was on the 'efficient-welcome' side but the rooms were clean, functional with good quality bedding, towels and toiletries. The 'club room' is cosy with a range of periodicals and books, I haven't dined at the hotel. The location is only a couple of blocks away from all the shopping on State […] street, plenty of inexpensive food places right on the doorstep, two Metra stations and all the wonders of the Chicago Art Institute and the Magnificent mile.
