Good location conveinient to all lines. Hotel staff was friendly. One complaint is that the first night they did turndown service and then the next two nights they did not provide turn down service even though I requested it. good location, friendly staff

the employee there is so nice and remember me. however, the hotel is pretty old even thought they re-design. it is a pretty good hotel but you would feel old when you live it.

Great place to stay south of the Chicago River. Small size makes it more personal. The bartender took special care of us. (Two friends catching up after not seeing each other for years.) He became part of the family.

We had a 15 hour layover on our trip home from the Bahamas so we made the best of it by getting a room at the Monaco and checking out a few highlights in downtown Chicago. The check in process was a total breeze - 5 minutes we were in our room our luggage delivered by a very helpful and super friendly young man who even wanted to go get a bucket of […] ice for us. The room was a queen double and was very clean and decorated in a very hip cool way. We took a quick shower (nice bathroom and toiletries). When we went downstairs to hobout we stopped at the front desk to get some advice and the gentlemen working the front went over and above to get us answers to all our questions. They were awesome. The hotel location is right on the river and excellent for walking around and seeing the sights. The only problem I had was our room faced the parkade across the street and when we finally went to bed it was so noisy. I think if you need quiet you need to ask for a higher room and one not backing onto the alley/parkade. We were on the 5th floor. Lavish hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago. You get what you pay for. Definitely not a budget hotel. But worth the $ for a special, pampered stay where u can walk anywhere downtown.

There were six of us who flew in from other states to have a long Easter holiday weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate several times in the restaurant and the food was great each time. We enjoyed the evening happy hour. Overall, our experience was very nice and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The rooms were not huge but they were very comfortable. What stood out was the exceptional service from all the staff. We were traveling with 13 month old twins and everyone was very accommodating. My fiancee and I recently stayed at the Hotel Monaco for a night. We were just looking for a couple of days away from home, away from our daily lives and stresses, a chance to relax and get away. I stayed for 5 days on a business trip, so coming back to a hosted wine hour at the end of a long day was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly - it's clearly a well-run place. I arrived at the Hotel Monaco Chicago around 11 PM and was pleased with the boutique feel and decor. The room was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. My only word of caution is that although I was told there was 24 hr room service, I called several times and no one answered the phone. Visit Chicago frequently and normally stay at different hotel. Wanted to be closer to Parade route and St. Paddy's Day activities so decided on Hotel Monaco after reading reviews. We especially appreciated Ryan's help in finding bicycles to rent, and tours to take. The early morning concierge was helpful also. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact the hotel does provide us with free toiletries if we have forgotten things. A nice touch.

Although the view from my room was the building right next to me which is kinda scary during the night, the overall quality of the hotel was pretty nice. And the staffs were fairly friendly.

The hotel Monaco is in a great location. It is very close to all necessary bus stops and train stations. It was very easy to get around. There is a great little bar right across the street as well and the food is wonderful. The staff here was OUTSTANDING. The manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. From the outside, the hotel's appearance looked questionable, However once you step through the doors you 'll be pleasantly surprised. We traveled to Chicago for a getaway weekend. The hotel was perfectly located. It was beautifully designed with a welcoming staff. They even polished our shoes for us. We will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a romantic getaway.

It was very straight forward. Not a ton of frills but for the price and location, it was an EXTREMELY good call.

My stay was brief, but relaxing. The room was to my exact specifications, though the down comforter was a bit weathered, none the less I enjoyed myself. Oh, and I must not forget the South Water Kitchen restaurant. My meal for dinner was absolutely amazing.

It was a very good stay at Hotel Monaco I would stay there again. The worker at the hotel was super great and very helpeful.

Service was upbeat and friendly upon check-in. Our room was big, 2 queens for 3 girls, and best, fresh carpet. The adjacent restaurant had good service and good food. Can't beat the location, easy access to the L, theatres, State St and Michigan Ave shopping.

Very pleased with our stay. Hotel lounge is beautiful which mimics the rooms. Room are newly renovated. Our rate was reasonable and location was perfect.

I stayed at this hotel for my birthday getaway. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was small and would be cramped if there was more than two people sharing the room, but the room was clean and nicely decorated in rich and vibrant colors. We had an awesome stay, the staff was exceptional. Was a very unique place, and close to everything we wanted to go to.

perfect for exploring downtown, loved the window seats -we had mediterranean suite and double queen room, asked to be on the same floor, and the concierge made sure the rooms adjoined, which added to an already excellent stay. Will definitely use again.

A few spots nearby like a drugstore and 2 restaurant bars. No bar in the hotel. However, the room and staff were wonderful. Hard pillows though! They hurt my ear. But, I'd stay here again.

Kimpton does a nice job with all of their properties including this one. The room was a good size, had a fair view, decent bathroom and good bed. There was nothing wrong with the stay, it just wasn't one that knocked my socks off. I was very pleased on my recent business travel to the Hotel Monaco. It was close to all the sites, area restaurants and entertainment and to my office. I was impressed with the beautiful clean room and friendly staff in all areas of the hotel. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Chicago - business or pleasure!

The room was clean and very nice. The hotel staff was very helpful in accommodating all my requests. The only drawback was that my room on the 6th floor had a view of parking garage structure. I liked complementary tea and wine service. Overall, I am happy with my stay and definitely will recommend it to everyone.

Great place to stay! The staff is friendly and accommodating; the bed is comfortable; the room is spacious and clean...and it's 2 blocks away from Millennium Park--you can't beat this hotel

I stayed at the Kimpton while attending a conference. It was an easy walk to the conference site at the Intercontinental (other side of the river) as well as to shopping and restaurants (both sides). I am sure that I got more luxury and service for dollar than those at the big hotel! Great job!
