Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre - Ballarat

Didn't get off to good start because since booking hotel name had been changed without notification and therefore I wasted much time searching for a non existent hotel before going into this one as it appeared to be the same address! Staff disinterested, room was cold and whilst reasonably well equipped this seemed to be by reference to a check list […] rather than for actual use eg kettle but no where to plug in except on floor using a lighting socket. For the price, it is somewhat disappointing. Internet charges are ridiculous & send a very negative message of gouging. Why is it in other locations Mercure offers free Internet as one of their benefits to business travellers? Maintenance could be better, the bathroom door handle fell off when opening, & the aircon was not heating effectively.

HAVE STAYED IN MANY ACCOR GROUP HOTELS, GRAND MERCURE[LUX], IBIS [PARIS], BEST WESTERN [CORSICA], MERCURE [GEELONG], GRIMALDI [NICE]. ALSO OTHERS IN ANYTHING UP TO FORTY COUNTRIES, [TRAVEL IS MY DRUG OF CHOICE] ALL VERY NICE WELCOMING CLEAN AND A PLEASURE TO CALL HOME FOR A DAY OR TWO. Overall the stay was pleasant. We were surprised that wifi connection and pay TV were not automatically part of the facilities. The location of the power point above the wash basin made boiling the jug for coffee a dangerous operation.There was some confusion in provisions of the overall package.Staff were friendly and obliging.

We were very happy with the location of the accomodation and the assistance provided for extra bedding for my family. If we needed to stay in Ballarat again, the Mecure Ballarat Hotel would be a first point of call.

I was extremely disappointed in the standard of the room- it looked very different to the website photos and video which was misleading.I felt that the price for the room only, no breakfast,was unreasonable. I would not stay here again!

Alt though the hotel was handy to ammenities, I found the rooms were very dark with poor lighting and there were some cobwebs in the rooms, the door mat in front of our room was covered in dirt and leaves not what you would expect from a Mercure resort.

Only stayed for one night, but was more then happy with accommodation & the service. Freindly bar staff & wait staff made it a pleasurable experience in a quiet town. Great proximity to Sovereign Hill.

One night stay was most comfortable and the atmosphere was pleasant.Quiet aqnd well kept grounds. Will stay again.

This hotel has pleasant surroundings in a very green location. The staff are friendly and the service meets most expectations. Rooms are spacious and quiet.

Only spent one night here but would have like to stay longer. Seems a very nice place and I enjoyed what little time I had here. Thanks guys.

The Mecure was a lovely place to stay. If we had had more time we would have loved to have stayed longer and enjoy the Motel and Ballarat.
