The ceiling was leaking in front of my room and for 3 days the didn't fix it. The gym is filthy and has equipment from the 60's, and it smells. My room was the size of a shoe box. The remote control was broken. And the shower knob was jammed so I could not open it . I called the front desk and they gave me the wrong directions, they basically told me […] how to dissemble it. The shower was very cheap the water came out very slow I guess they are trying to conserve water . But it took me 1 hour to shower instead of 15 min because the water was coming out like 1 gallon per min . My room was located next to the service elevator shaft. The room was constantly shaking and the noise was intolerable. Furthermore, the housekeeping staff was overwhelmingly rude and disinterested. What a pity....the room was very nicely appointed and comfortable besides these problems.

This hotel was very nice and the location was perfect. We had great service the entire stay! The rooms are a little small but they were very clean and comfortable. Loved the area the hotel was located and the options for dinner and shopping.

I travel to Boston every 3 months for my sons medical appt. so I stay at alot of different Hotels and this is one of my favorites. This visit was the 3rd time I stayed at Royal Sonesta. Only there for one night but had stayed here about a year ago. VERY close to the Boston Science Center which was the primary destination but just across the street is the Cambridge Side Galleria which we visited so the kids could do some shopping. Food court and other shops convenient there as well. Kids used the pool. It would be nice if there was […] a whirlpool which I would have used. Took the T in to Boston so didn't have to park a car which would have cost $30 overnight. Ouch. Rooms are fine but the beds are on the "short" side, being six feet tall. This was a great hotel that had modern, clean room and was set on the Charles River. It is conveniently located across the street from a mall that has several nice dining options. The only major drawback is that it is not terrible close to any T station, so there is a short walk to the green line and a longer walk to the red line.

It was so great staying there..The young lady at the desk saw that I was having difficulty with my balance while pushing my walker and offered me a handicap accessible room. It was the best vacation. The service was great and the staff was wonderful and pleasant. No matter what time it was. My boys loved the pool. Wish there was a fridge in the room.

The rooms my family were assigned were greatly dissimilar yet all the same rate. My room was a handicap room one third the size of the other king rooms, with no adjustment in cost. There is an oily black substance throughout the garage floor , it gets on your shoes and it's revolting, all floors, the whole floor. Finally even though you are in the middle […] of nowhere in Cambridge, with no local attractions within walking distance, they charge you a substantial amount each night for parking. At the price each night all inclusive with parking we could have stayed at a much nicer, more centrally located hotel, compared to the price we were marketed. This felt like bait and switch. A very nice clean hotel with friendly staff. The only negative is the automatic 15% tip and 15% service charge in the restaurant even when having the buffet.

I got a great deal on Hotels.com for two nights at this hotel. The view was fantastic and there was 24 hour room service. Although it was a rainy weekend, we could have walked right across the street to go running on the Charles. My wife and two children had a great stay and found the hotel to be all we expected. The river view from our room was great. The only down side is that you have a limited choice of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel.

They have one of the best hotel pools anywhere, but they just got rid of their hot tub because they're too cheap to comply with ADA regulations. This is a big disappointment. I used to look forward to relaxing in their hot tub while my son plays in the pool.

We arrived and the valet parking attendant was fast, helpful and extremely nice. Check in was a breeze. We paid for a Cambridge view and we got a river / city view. Our son attends Boston U and this hotel is our all time favorite for a romantic get away or family visit. The location is directly across shopping area and PF Changs....you can take a walk immediately outside and enjoy the Charles River...or simply stroll through the hotel and absorb the world class art exhibit.

I loved the location of this hotel. The staff was fabulous and very accommodating. The room was impeccable and the food in each of the restaurants plus room service was excellent. Dante's was a bit pricey but the food was good. Definitely will stay here again.

If you like a water view, this place will satisfy. I stayed in a smaller one bed traveler room. It was perfect just for me. The room seemed high tech. and something like a space station. Responsive staff did well in response to noisy, drunk neighbors. (Thin walls between rooms and hallways.) Hotel is not convenient to anything but Science Museum, which is among my favorites. The staff at the hotel were friendly and very helpful. There was a smile on everyone's face, even though it was 12/31/12 and very busy. The room was a little small, but beautifully appointed,great view of the Charles river & fireworks. We opted on room service for dinner which was a great decision. The hotel is right next door to the Boston Museum of Science, always a hit with kids. Across the street is the Cambridgeside Galleria shopping mall, with many restaurant options and a food court. The hotel has some of the best views possible of the Boston skyline, and the kids enjoyed looking out at the Charles River.

Good location. Children will enjoy the pool and adults the sauna. Short drive to Harvard Square and to main Boston attractions. Close metro station. Welcoming and helpful staff. Beautiful views. Close to mall. Double beds a bit too small for two adults.

I asked the receptionist to move my room to the newer east wing of the hotel and she obliged. Not only that, she moved my brothers room next door to my new location without my asking so it was taken care of when he arrived later that day. This was my second stay at the Royal Sonesta, but not my last.

The hotel is comfortable all around. There is interesting art everywhere, which the hotel seems to pride itself on. The gym is run down with outdated equipment and the parking was expensive. Other than that, its an excellent hotel.
