If your looking for a place to rest, it is adequate, no frills lodging. Reasonably quiet, one can hear the rumble of passing traffic from the I80 but it is not too intrusive. Good value for money as in season lodging anywhere in town or closer to the ski resorts is a lot pricier.

The hotel had a nice lobby, clean rooms, free breakfast and a hot tub. So, in general the stay was fairly pleasant. The location was ok. It is right off of the highway and there is nothing nearby other than a gas station. It is a 15-20 minute drive/taxi ride from Squaw and the surrounding restaurants and bars. Nice hotel and rooms, decent price and sastifying breakfast.... What else?

The hotel is very well maintained and comfortable to stay. I recommend this hotel.

Our room was right next to the carport. There were no blackout blinds, just thin, see though ones. Had to ask for blankets, and use one of them to cover the window. In room coffee maker, but no coffee cups.

A great place to stay. Convenient location. Room is spacious and clean, carpet is clean, including the hallway and furnitures. No smell. Front desk clerk is friendly. Breakfast service is very good. Will definitely stay there again. Only problem is the room air conditioner is a little bit noisy for me. Give it a four stars.

Very clean, quiet, and the workers were friendly and professional. For the price, it's definitly not luxury, but the most for your money.

By far the worst king size bed I ever slept in. I woke up with a very bad/sore back and still recovering two days later.

I've stayed here several times and always enjoyed it. Located at the back end of Donner State Park. The fresh air and pine trees smell great.

Service was very good, breakfast contained varied items, easy access to/from freeway, and a clean, spacious room, all for a good price - I was well satisfied. And the chocolate chip cookies were very good too.

Nice rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast. Only real downside is you have to drive to get to restaurants or retail. Good and affordable staging location for Truckee or Donner Lake fun!

I had a quick, unannounced business trip. Went on line and made my reservation. Got to the hotel late (10:00pm). The room was clean, bed comfortable, easy chair in the corner, nice big screen TV (plenty of channels), work desk to do e-mails, etc.. This was a short stay but I was very comfortable in the room for the night. Wifi was free and easy to connect […] to (didn't have to be in the lobby). Clean room , hot coffee and tea available 24 hrs a day. Breakfast in the morning was good. Walking distance to Donner Lake. Beautiful views. Close to town and gas stations. Definitely will be staying here again.

A nice place; I was pleasantly surprised. Big room. Good breakfast. Very convenient location.

We didn't use the pool or other amenities. Continental breakfast was unappealing. Apples were a good idea, but putting them right next to the heatlamp ? Clean and up to date room, but noise from freeway trucks and heat/air unit were bothersome. Friendly staff.

The hotel was very clean and served a good breakfast. The bed was comfortable. i was very satisfied.

Though in name a lodge, this is just a Holiday Inn Express. Clean, nice enough, but nothing special. The front desk was also not at all friendly.

Big room-very comfortable-Great breakfast with hot food & good variety convenient to Hwy 80 & town of Truckee. Short drive to South Lake Tahoe. Would highly recommend

We were able to walk to the Donner Lake Rec area & were able to go hiking and fishing. There are canoe, kyak & boat rentals at the lake. Warning, the walk was along a busy road. It is only 5 minutes or less by car. Front desk and house keeping staff very friendly & helpful.

This lodge had the feel that it is owned by family for families. Very close to Donner State Park, great access to picnics lakeside. Pool is functional, needs sprucing up.

We lost internet conection for 24 hrs

It's not a budget hotel, but it's very nice for the money. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable; and the hotel overall is nice, if not a little dated. They provide a nice breakfast spread and the pool and hot tub are also a plus. The location really can't be beat. Our toilet did run the entire time we were there, but we were never in the room […] so it didn't really bother us. It was too expensive for a room that cannot close curtains. not comfortable for the price. However the location is ideal.

We needed an affordable (clean) hotel that wasn't far from North Star. The only negatives I have to say about the hotel is the elevator is slow (and somewhat small) and the walls are pretty thin. Very pleased with the cleanliness of the room! Loved the constant flow of coffee throughout the day. The hotel was fully booked, but was quiet; got a great nights sleep. The continental breakfast was AMAZING! Wasn't expecting biscuits and gravy; but they were great. Close to Truckee, yet next to the woods, and by a stream. We loved sitting in the Adirondocks chairs and putting our toes in the water. Nice touch. The breakfast was better than we expected. Value. We chose this hotel because of it's location right off the interstate and the closeness to our intended purpose in Trukee. The hotel was clean, plenty of towels and amneties in the bathroom. The morning breakfast was a nice touch, we didn't have to drive anywhere for bacon and eggs with biscuits and gravy. Not to mention fruit and cereal. The rooms in this hotel were large, spacious and extremely comfortable with great bathrooms and laundry facilities on site. We have stayed at the Truckee Donner Lodge in the past. It was the Holiday Inn Express before, but it has not changed much as far as amenities from our last stay about 8 years ago. The hotel is not fancy, but clean, comfortable and has a convenient location. It is a non-smoking hotel, so there are no worries of having a stinky neighbor and I found it […] to be very comfortable for our quick ski weekend. It has a very nice free breakfast in the morning including hot items such as bacon and eggs, along with the regular continental items. There is a computer to use in the lobby which was great for my teenager, as she left her laptop at home and "needed" to check her facebook. The people at the desk were very friendly and helpful, especially when the road closed due to the snow and we had to stay longer than expected.
