There were mentioned about the surrounding neighborhood and I would agree using U.S. standard. It is definitel gritty, but it is safe like any other urban city. People will approach you selling fake Rolex and various other products and services. My husband and I always enjoy staying at the Diamond Hotel everytime we go to visit our folks in the Philippines , before we go to our hometown in Batac , Ilocos Norte and before coming back to Canada. We only stayed at the Diamond Hotel for one night, we didnt have breakfast there so cant comment. Everything was fine, but just looking a little tired and wifi was only available in the lobby. The service and security were great as was the quality of the bed!

It is not worth the money you pay for, I check in 1 hour late and my room is still not ready. I stayed in cheaper hotels but I get better service. Maybe it is the close proximity of the US embassy, but I get the impression the staff does not think highly of Americans. From my arrival after over 24 hours travel where I found the room I had reserved was not available then I had to debate with the counter staff to get what I had paid for in advance, not a good way to start the trip. My safe malfunctioned […] twice, getting staff the first time took over an hour, the second time they did not respond at all, I was forced to use a generic password. On my departure day, I was burdened with two bandit cab drivers, unlike at the Dusit Thani, the front door staff do not document the driver's license plate. The first driver did not set his meter, my bust in not calling him, I allowed him the rate he asked for, 300p, then he took me too the wrong terminal. The second driver, he again did not set his meter, I again did not request his fee in advance, he charged me 400p for a ride from the Delta Terminal to Terminal 3. My fault, but lesson learned. 700p for a cab ride! The Diamond is a beautiful hotel, but the undercurrent of hostility to Americans, I would not recommend it, I have definitely had a friendlier experience at the Dusit Thani. i arrive manila around 10:30 am, but i went to the hotel for check-in around 5:00pm, i presume that there is no reason for the room not yet available, but yet it was disappointing we were able to get into the room around 7:00pm already, my friend was so ashamed coz he highly recommended Diamond hotel to us.

I thought it was great. Its a great hotel. If your looking for a hotel that going to make you want to stay in and not leave. Then this is the one. I recommend that you book online, due to the fact that if you book there your going to end up paying alot for the basic room. Which by no means is basic.

Hotel is very clean, staff are courteous and buffet food is superb. I don't usually give reviews. This hotel was well worth what i paid. 5 star hotel, everything was good except wifi not so good but there is a hard wire if needed. I didnt stay here just to use the computer so i will still give it 5 stars, excelent!

Cleanliness was only a 4 b/c of an odor in the room. It smelled like mold but might've been mothballs ? Otherwise, our stay was fantastic. Great views and the room was huge for what we paid. Very close to MOA, seaside and a bunch of other points of interest. Someone wrote a review about getting searched "too much". I prefer it over not feeling as safe […] as we did. We had the last 3 night of our holiday at this hotel. We had booked the superior room which included free breakfast. The room was on the 22nd floor and was excellent, quite big with big flat screen tv,and sofa. It even had those universal plug sockets so you didn't need travel adaptors etc. having seen the pictures of my room on the website now i think […] they gave us the deluxe room instead of superior. But can't complain. The swimming pool was nice with waterfall feature but a bit confusing too get too. on ground floor but access via 2nd floor. I can't comment on the breakfast as we never woke up early enough to try it. But we did try the buffet lunch and dinner once which was great but a little pricey. the rest of time we ate out in nearby restaurants. The staff were polite and helpful and check-in and out was smooth and quick without any hassles. All the taxi's know the hotel so its easy to get back to the hotel. Its also easy to get a regular taxi if you want to go anyway. just walk 20m infront of entrantance of the hotel and lots of taxi will come to you. If your on a budget you can dine outside nearby restaurants which are within 5mins walking distance. restaurant chains like Shakey's restaurants, Max's restaurants, Aristocrat restaurants ect The only bad comment was if your walking outside near the hotel you encounter a lot of beggers but its not the hotels fault but an observation so you need to be carefully at night. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Hotel appearance, and equipment, building itself are amazing and outstanding. i wanna use again this hotel next time. however, sadly the service from staffs are not so nice and unbalance to the hotel. hopefully some improvement in future.

The hotel was clean and nice overall but the front desk staff was horrible. They were very rude and it took over 40 minutes to check in. I think the clerk was doing everything he could to make it take longer because I said I was late for an appointment and needed to check in quickly. THey say they specialize in Japanese guests but while we were checking […] in there were two Japanese business men trying to check in and no one could understand what they were saying. It was very frustrating for the guests. Luckily, my wife speaks Japanese and she was able to translate and help take care of the guests. I feel like Gomer Pyle, I loved it , loved it, loved it. All smiles from the staff, even when we came down late for breakfast and they had been closed for 14 minutes, they made me feel welcome as the fed us. The spa treatment is inexpensive and great. All clean and secure. Walking distance to Robinson Mall.

From check in to check out, the Diamond Hotel is a real 'diamond' experience. If your primary stay is Manila you have a few choices of stay which offer very different experiences. Manila is a city of contrasts, with many poorer areas and a few super wealthy ones. The Diamond Hotel is in a area somewhat in-between in the old part of Manila, not far from […] Intramuros which is right on Manila Bay. The area is a real mix of old and new Manila, Robinsons Mall is a few blocks away for any shopping (M&S, Gap etc) and there are street sales etc right out front. Manila traffic is a real eye opener for a newcomer- it is really chaotic! But the airport is only 30-40 minutes in a cab, you can easily walk to Intramuros and the Bay, and Green Hills shopping mall (best shopping) is about an hour and 15 minutes. Taxis are really cheap but make sure the driver has the meter on and only negotiate a price if you are experienced. Upgrade to the Diamond Club room as the extra price is really worth it- we felt so cared for by the staff, they took care of everything- also the view of the Bay from the Club Lounge is brilliant. The ferry terminal and SM Mall of Asia is a short cab ride (15 minutes) from the hotel also. You can stay in Makati and have a 'Western' experience not unlike any other city in the world or you can experience the real Manila (and great views) from the Diamond Hotel (at better value). อ่านเพิ่มเติม

I stayed for one night in March 2012 and this hotel was a great option as I needed to be near the harbor. I stayed in an Executive Suite which was very large and clean. We were entertaining people throughout the day and the room was large enough for that. There are 2 full baths (one with shower and tub, and one with shower), a large bedroom with view […] and LCD tv and living room with pull out bed in the couch, a dining room table with chairs, and a large LCD tv. The suites are on the corners and had a great view of the harbor. The only negative that I found was some of the lack of things that came with a suite. When I checked in, they tried to get us to upgrade to the "Diamond Club" which was basically amenities that are usually included in a suite stay at other hotels. The Diamond Club amenities were things such as free cocktails at happy hour, free snacks, and free wi-fi all up in the lounge area. With the suite, only 3 hours of wired (no wi-fi) internet was allowed and that was really slow. They also included 2 bottles of local bottled water and 2 bottles of iced tea. All in all it was a very positive experience. The room was very large and allowed us to have people over during our stay. It was very safe with a lot of security around doing checks of all vehicles as well as key-only access to the floors on the elevator.
