Marriott Hollins Hall Hotel and Country Club - Shipley

we stayed at Hollins Hall for 2 nights, in a family room with our two children. We had booked what we were quoted as Bed and Breakfast rate for 2 adults and 2 children....however on arrival we were told that we would have to pay for breakfast for our 15 yr old, at a price of £10, although this was not stated on our booking form!! Overall the hotel was […] clean, but the ladies showers in the leisure club were appalling. The smell of drains was overwhelming, and they needed a thorough clean! The jacuzzi was out of order (although we were informed of this by reception) which was a disappointment, the steam room was not very warm and the swimming area was quite dated, considering it is a 'spa' and leisure club. On our 2nd day we were going to a party which started at 5.30pm. We returned to our room at 3.30pm to get ready, only to find that the room had not been cleaned!!! It was eventually cleaned at 4pm, which is unacceptable! i would happily recommend this hotel to anyone, the staff were absolutely superb and the hotel to a fantastic standard - breakfast was also superb with a huge choice.My only slight quarm was the pool - they are doing maintenance which caused parts to be boarded off btu i guess they have to do it some time :) and the pool was a bit cold - but to be honest […] the rest of the stay made up for any misgivings there and i would highly recommend this for business leisure or golf. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

We stayed in a family room (two double beds) with our two kids. The room was spacious and comfortable, only thing was we had to phone for maintance on arrival as toilet flush didnt work. they came to fix it but it still wasnt right but workable with a few attempts. It could have been cleaner, quite dusty. The pool was nice but very cold, there was a […] big bag of toys, watering cans etc that the kids were not allowed to get out and the swimming teacher was very abrupt with them when they went to look. We ate dinner in the Zest bar which was very good for kids, they both got fantasic colouring packs. The kids meals were good value, they got loads but the chips were covered in salt whioh I wouldnt expect for a kids meal. The breakfast was lovely and lots of choice. Loved our stay at this hotel. It was clean, friendly and great service. The only disappointment was the wireless. It was useless even for my phone, let alone my iPad ! Would have been a major issue had I needed to work on my laptop or pick up email. As we were on a break it was just annoying! I would go back though as I enjoyed everything else.

We were on our way from friends in Chester to friends near Leyburn. This was a last minute Valentine's "treat" for my wife and 2 boys! I was impressed with the reviews with this hotel - as a business traveller, I pretty much know what to expect. When we arrived I was pretty impressed. My wife was concerned that they wanted to swipe my Visa card - "no worries" I said - "all standard stuff". The room we had been allocated they had an issue with a shower curtain so they put us in an alternative room - same spec as ordered - 2 double beds. Cutting to the chase - the room was excellent - clean, roomy, beds perfect for us and the boys (7 and 10 years old). Ice-making machine in the nearby corridor perfect for our own bottle of Prosecco. As per usual I greeted everyone I met and they were all very polite. Facilities - excellent! We used the swimming pool twice - once in the late afternoon, and again the following morning. The boys absolutely loved it - as did my wife and I. The jacuzzi / spa pool was great. The pool was great. The changing rooms and showers were great. I got up early the next day and had a good session in the gym - a mix of free weights and machines plus a separate cardio room. The rower I used was latest Concept 3 (rather than the Concept 2s I have at my gym). In the main weight room, I managed to Leg Press the whole stack, bench nearly the stack (but not quite), did a load of chin-ups and dips but was slightly disappointed the dumbbells only went to 30kg (66lbs) but hey-ho, not a powerlifter's gym. All very impressive. BEST hotel gym I have EVER been to. FULL STOP! The dinner was in ZEST - great service, superb meal - I actually thought it was pretty good value when comparing the quality of the meal to other restaurants. The biggest plus was the breakfast. A top find and very good value for money. Friendly staff, large room with 2 king size beds. All set in a beautiful suroundings. Excellent pool, big jacuzzi, menthol in the steam and sauna. Great breakfast's with good food in both restaurents. We have found our perfect weekend stayaway location. Never found a place that combines such space & facilities […] to feel cosy and warm. Reception staff very welcoming and very helpful, felt like we were made to feel welcome Room was beautiful, clean and the bed was very comfy slept like a log! Would highly recommend this hotel for its accomodation and the surrounding views etc, only one thing a little below standard for me, the pool other than that excellent

Hollins Hall is a high quality hotel, offering many luxury facilities including 2 gyms, pool, steam, sauna and a spa - I tried them all so can recommend them ( spa treatments will need booking 24 hours in advance). The room was spacious, quiet and comfortable - all it lacked was a fridge. The breakfasts were good. We didn't try the evening meals as […] the menu looked pricey. The room service menu was good but pricey. The hotel is really set up for golf, with an 18 hole course and driving range on site. We were looking for a hotel in the area. It was very reasonably priced we felt as the tarif included B&B for two. The total cost was about the same as a travel lodge + two breakfasts, but the room was as I would expect for a Marriott hotel. We tried to go for a walk in the grounds. The front desk should have had a map of the walk but couldnt find it. […] We got lost. Booked this hotel as a girls trip for shopping in Harrogate and Christmas markets in Knaresborough. Nice hotel, rooms fine and breakfast ok too. Only complaint was that the girl serving us was miserable and didn't acknowledge we were actually there, completely ignoring our please and thankyous... other staff were nice... such a shame we were made to […] feel uncomfortable at breakfast. Nice hotel, expensive restaurant with mediocre food. Good breakfast other than rubber fried eggs.

Although we only stayed 1 night, it was a very pleasant experience,staff were very kind breakfast was good no complaints at all.

The refurbished room and the state of room equipment and plumbing were a great improvemrnt over our last stay in this hotel in 2010. This time we were treated as well as guests who had booked directly with Mariott.

This is a very comfortable and well maintained hotel. The lobby has the feel of a modern US hotel, the rooms are spacious for the UK, decor of high quality, and the bed was big and comfortable (with pillows to die for). No a/c ,but the room was well ventilated. Blackout curtains for sleep-ins during summer. Bathroom was forensically clean, well stocked […] and shower-head sited for even the tall man. Great meals here - at least in the Zest bar and breakfast room. Didn't try the fine dining restaurant , but the menu was interesting. Zest is a sport bar with a relaxed atmosphere and a good short menu with hearty meals for the golfer. Drinks were a little expensive , although a great selection of tipples. Service very good, excellent really - three cheers for the waitresses..! Staff were very good elsewhere too - and it looked like they were pleased to help. Super efficient. Breakfast room(s) were busy, yet again the service was very good here - maitre d' ensured hot drinks arrived within 1-2 minutes. Busy buffet - the food was well prepared and lots of choice. Breakfast rooms were buzzing with staff to tidy your table and keep it well stocked. The hotel benefits from a good sized spa (good by UK standards) and onsite 18-hole golf course (plenty of buggies). Golf shop is really only for apparel (I admit, I did buy the "polo"), but the basics were there too (golf balls, gloves, tees etc). If you tire of the onsite course, The Bradford is close by, just 1-2 miles away. Both are on rolling parkland, some trees but fairly open. Lots of parking close to the hotel entrance and much more in the overspill area outside the Country Club. Grounds are well maintained - with nice patio outside the Hollins Bar. If you care to leave the hotel, Ilkley Moor is only a short drive (just beyond The Bradford) with some interesting pubs (Hermit, Cow & Calf) and with old victorian Ilkley Town beckoning just beyond (must try Betty's Tearoom and visit the shops too). Good value for money in a nice setting.

Impressive building, nice rooms. We took dinner on our one night stay and the meal was excellent. Staff are friendly.

Very nice hotel and grounds, had a lovely meal in ther Zest Bar and Restaraunt. Did not get the best nights sleep as the king bed sunk in the middle and the mattress was well past its best

I took my wife away to the hotel for a quite weekend only to find that there was a wedding reception taking place which caused considerable noise at night, as our room backed onto the function room, apart from that the staff are excellent and overall the hotel is very nice, would go back but on a quieter night.

Really nice hotel, the pool was nice too, but no children's pool like it says on one site. But great place, would definitely stay again.

Stopped here as i went to a wedding near by, brilliant price for a brilliant hotel. Room was great, staff was very pleasant, free phone taxi service which was spot on. Breakfast the next morning was lovely, great choice and plenty of seats available.
