This hotel is situated off of highway 29 and very convenient to all restaurants, shops, gas stations, etc. My stay was very nice. Initially, there was a problem with my keys. New locks were put on the doors and the keys did not work. The hotels personnel were very nice about my inconvenience and gave me free breakfast. The room was very cozy and comfortable. First and foremost, be sure you know which "Courtyard by Marriott Silver Spring" you're booking yourself into -- there are two. This is the one way up north, nowhere near Silver Spring. The other one is in downtown Silver Spring. The rooms are on the small side for a hotel of this star rating, and the amenities aren't quite up to what I would have […] expected. We also had an issue with a loud party that the desk staff took quite a long time to do anything about. We got a refrigerator with our room, but were disappointed in its size -- it was so tiny that we could barely put anything into it. All we wanted to do was store a couple of two-liter bottles of soda and a few other things, but it couldn't even handle that. A three-star hotel really should have a complimentary breakfast. Instead, it's $7.95 for a "continental" buffet that's little more than cereal, or two bucks more for the full buffet. Yup, ten bucks for something that many less expensive hotels give you for free. Squeezing every penny out of the customer, obviously. The exercise room was equipped with some dumbbells, two treadmills, a stationary bike, and an elliptical. The elliptical is the worst such machine I have ever used -- whoever designed this thing (Star Trac brand) evidently had never used an elliptical before. I also used a treadmill, and it was decent enough but the TV mounted on it was controlled by a remote strapped to a bar on the machine, and the cable connected to that remote fell out frequently, making it difficult to use. I could switch channels but not control the volume (buttons didn't seem to work). Didn't try the other treadmill or the bike. There was a party near our room one night that was obviously full of minors, and it took repeated calls to the front desk before they took any kind of substantive action. No complaints about this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff was helpful and professional.

it would be nice if a continental breakfast was included.
