Hill Country Inn & Suites at Salado Creek - ซานอันโตนิโอ

Filthy (black feet) floors, broken TV, broken dresser, burned out lights, no working ice machine, sheets not on bed, beds so hard may as well sleep on the ground... May be cheap, but it's cheap for a reason. At least the staff tried to make you comfortable. Will never go back.

When we got to our room, somebody else was already there. The maintenance guy outside the room took charge & tried to get us another room. After personally going back to the front desk and getting a talk by the front desk staff on why we were wrong & there shouldn't be anybody in that room, we got a key to another room. The second room's door was wide […] open when we arrived. There were mosquitoes and moths flying outside. I was a little hesitant getting into that room. We did anyway, since we were tired & wanted to shower & get to bed. Upon surveying the room, we found several things: AC didn't cool the room, stains on the toilet, ripped carpet, and torn window drapes. While we were trying to figure out what to do, somebody knocked on the door, looking for the person in the first room we were given. We had 3 children with us & didn't feel safe staying in that hotel. The neighborhood is marginal & our night's experience sure didn't help. After calling a Hotels.com rep, we decided to check out & find another hotel. I wonder if we stayed in the same hotels as the other reviewers who gave glowing reviews of this property. After a couple of days to process what had happened, my husband’s theory (no proof) was that the friendly, take charge maintenance guy was selling the room under the table & the front desk didn't know anything about it. My family had stayed at Hill Country Inn while on a family vacation. I was very impressed by the pictures on the website. I loved the porch, playground area for kids and pool. I was although upset that the air in our room just wasnt cool enough. The tiles in the kitchen area were cracked and considering we had a 1 year old it was also a little unsafe. […] The tvs could use updating. I appreciated that there was 2 but the one in the living area did not work. Other than that the location was great. We are recurring travelers to this location. The service is good, the people working there is very nice, and the place is very well located. New freeway bridge makes easier and faster to come or go.

It was good for the most part. The location is great and easy to find. There is a playground that our kids enjoyed. My only complaints are that the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable and the breakfast was nothing to write home about. (cereal and pastries)

In some respects we liked our stay there BUT our room was not very clean and I personally bought windex and cleaned the front door and bathroom door. There was no place for a towel or light at the bathroom sink which was right next to the kitchen sink. We had strange silverware too and bought some ourselves at the Walmart. Nice hotel within about 5 miles of the airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed in room 227. No noticable unpleasant odors and the room was very clean. No water in morning after our first night, and they made us go to other side of grounds to take shower and do our necesities. No WiFi in one of the rooms and staff could not help. Room was not cleaned after first night stay. Staff is horrible. Stay somewhere else, I will next time I am go to San Antonio.

you can't argue about the price! the lay out of the hotel was good and our room was quiet. A log cabin feel to the hotel which was nice. The pool was really great. Beds were fine and the room was fine - just a bit tired - staff friendly and helpful

There were several lights in the room out of order. The coffee maker wasn't working. The mattress was dreadful couldn't sleep and worst of all the a/c was t working. Two words NEVER AGAIN!!!

The swimming pool area was nice. Pool was clean. Bathroom was to small. My closet is bigger than that and its not a walk in closet. You could hear when the room next door flushed the toilet because the water ran and ran.Sofa in room was torn. We found a roach dead and stiff in the kitchen area. Breakfeast could have been a bit more.

Hotel was different from most hotels and had a great charming quality. Desk staff was awesome. Rooms were pretty cool, and featured 2 tvs, and a seperate "living room" type area. Bathrooms were horrendously small. Overall good experience.

The only draw back is that I expected the room to be more clean. Found a few items behind the night stand that should have been cleaned. Otherwise, the maintenance was great (toilet running), the breakfast was good, grounds were well maintained. Great location and will stay again.

This hotel has a lot going for it. The pool and playground are great for kids, the grills outside your door make smores an evening event to remember. However, the rooms need remodeling. Our curtains have come unhemmed at the bottom and were only half hanging on the curtain rod. The bedspreads have well served their lifetime and need retiring. The beds also need replacement, one was rock hard, the other soft and squishy. This place has so much potential if they would just spend some money refurbishing it. My stay was nice and quiet. Hotel was older but for the money it was well worth it. As with any hotel, some things could be improved but having individual enterances, drive up parking... not having additional guest walking down the corridor "any" time of night, was nice. Considering the very low price through Hotels.com, we honestly didn't expect much, only needing a place to sleep for a few hours before catching a flight (airport is just a few short miles away). But we did take advantage of the pool (crystal clear!) and playground (in excellent condition!). The room was clean and comfortable with one exception -- we lifted the sofa cushions and were a little put off that they obviously hadn't vacuumed there in quite a while. They offered a free continental b'fast, which was fine -- although more fresh fruit would have been GREATLY appreciated.
