Downtown Santa Fe has some of the nation’s oldest buildings. The Palace of the Governors has been in use since the early 1600s. For 400 years, Santa Fe Plaza has hosted markets and special events. West of the plaza, Santuario de Guadalupe is the oldest U.S. shrine to the Virgin Mary. The New Mexico State Capitol is also downtown. Nearby, the acclaimed Santa Fe Opera conducts performances alfresco.

"do not stay there"
The hotel is overpriced; the rooms are extremely small and inconvenient. Furniture is very inconvenient as well. There is no even wending machine in the hotel, so when the restaurant is closed you will not get a glass of water except from the tap in your room.
"St Francis Santa Fe, NM"
This is a very nice hotel. The only issue was the noise. This is completely out of the control of the hotel but there is an alley behind the hotel that people would walk home from the bars late and every night about 1am we were awakened by fighting and glass breaking. Otherwise the staff was awesome, the room was clean and comfortable.

Clean, quaint and great location. However, likely the smallest room with tiny bathroom we've ever seen. Also, no coffee available until after 7:30 a. M.!
A lovely restored historic hotel right in the heart of old Santa Fe. I'll be staying there for my next visit! A great staff too.
"St Francis Hotel, Santa Fe NM"
Rooms are very small..Shower / tub very small with old window that did not seem clean that was wet with the shower. No room in Restroom to dress and have aminities spread out. Sink right as you open door that had musty smell. did not like standing litterally at the front door brushing teeth and room service knocked. had to dress; move; and make room […] w/ front area being crowded. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

The rooms are small but perfect for an overnight stay. Would definitely stay here again. Very clean and quiet.

"Great if you upgrade room to deluxe"
Once we upgraded, very comfortable. Beds are great and comforters cozy. The classic room is tiny and sink was in room, couldn't fit in bathroom. Two adults couldn't walk by each other. Once we upgraded, very comfortable and would recommend.
"Great stay!!"
This is my second time staying at this hotel and I would say that it was even better the second time around. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are so comfortable and clean. And the location is ideal. Can't wait to go back!
"Charming Hotel in great location"
My daughter and I went to Sante Fe for the first time and absolutely loved this hotel. The food was incredible, the rooms were charming and the location was great. I wish we were going back next week. Highly recommend!

The only negative is that even though I stated there would be 3 guests, the room given was 1 queen. I was told they never look at the number of guests. So I had to pay an extra amount to get 2 double beds.
"perfect location"
Everything about this hotel is great, but the standard room is very small
"Nice place"
Nice room, friendly staff. Room was small and had no desk.
Excellent location in Santa Fe. Restaurant was great. Room small but very comfortable.

"Nice..."
The hotel was built around the late 1880s and has been remodeled since the last time I stayed there which was about 8 years ago. Is is a very nice hotel but you do get what you pay for. I had to change rooms when we checked in because the first room was very small. My wife and I kept bumping into each other as we tried to go to one side of the room […] to the other. Word of advise, if they give you the first floor rooms going up a small stairway, avoid it and request another room away from there. The second room was a bit larger even though the lady in the front desk informed me it would be smaller so we stayed at this room. I would recommend to try a cocktail at their bar espcially if Todd is the bartender that day. He is excellent!!! He will make you drinks with fresh fruit or vegetables and they taste great. The hotel is centrally located in the historic area of Santa Fe so it is perfect walking distance to any of the shops and restaurants. Speaking of restaurants, I would recommend going to the "Roof Top Pizza" for lunch or dinner which is located in the arcade mall on the 3rd floor. After pizza you can walk across on the same floor to a bar they have and experience the local beers they have while overlooking the historic plaza at their patio. I can keep on and on about what things you can do while staying at the Hotel St. Francis which their location makes it easy to do things within walking distance. Overall the hotel is beautiful and centrally located. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"TIny, tiny room with paper-thin walls"
The room is 50% larger than the bed - there isn't room to move around with 2 people. The sink is outside the bathroom which is equally small (bath + toilet + 50%). The plumbing noises in the hotel wake you up at night. We could hear people above us pouring water and doing the most simple things. There is absolutely no privacy. When parking, the spaces […] are limited but the hotel charges a fixed rate per day so you may still have to pay to park on the street. The front desk staff aren't very professional and the in-house bar has slow service. Overall, this is not a high quality hotel especially for the price - we moved to Las Palomos for the same price and had a room 5 times bigger with better facilities. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Great location"
Great location. Clean quaint queen room. Room 204 right across from the elevator BOO! Very noisy in the am. Bathroom small with no shower light. Overall lighting in room very dark making putting on make up difficult. Only stayed 1 night so we managed well.

"Lovely hotel"
We love to stay here when in Santa Fe. It's very comfortable, serene, welcoming, safe, and clean. My only one complaint is that we stayed in room 330, and I was awakened by the noise of the plumbing pipes rattling and straining. I mentioned it to the front desk clerk, and she said the hotel was upgraded, but the plumbing was not, so sometimes it is […] noisy. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Santa fe hotel"
Chris at bar secreto makes it worth staying here, along with location, but street noise is incredibly loud. Rooms are too small with very little room to move. Stay somewhere else, but definitely visit the bar with axing drinks!
"St Francis Hotel Santa FE"
This is a great hotel within walking of all major downtown attractions on the plaza. We have stayed at this location many times and never been disappointed.
Hotel was in an awesome location, very rustic with a great lobby. The room was small and the bathroom was very small, despite this, we enjoyed our stay and would go back.
"Charming, but not quite luxurious"
This hotel has beautiful common spaces, both the lobby and the stair landings. The location for access to the Plaza area and Canyon Rd. couldn't be better. Room decor is simple and pleasing, as well, and the bed was extraordinarily comfortable. The staff was gracious and friendly. The hotel bar is hopping. Alas, a couple of things keep it from being […] worth the price. The most important is the failure to provide bath areas that are convenient to use. Our bath was plenty roomy, but had only a pedestal sink with a small shelf above that was mostly occupied by the hotel-provided bath supplies. There was no place for additional items, so toiletries had to stay in their travel bags and either sit on the floor or be moved back and forth from the room. And the lighting . . . on a scale of 1 to infinity, with 1 being a burned-out light bulb, the bath lighting was a 2. So, put in a usable vanity, hang a lighted make-up mirror on the wall. Last item, is small, but, for us, significant. No coffee is available in the hotel until 7:45 AM. No in-room coffe maker, no coffee in the lobby. Before that time, it's a trip to the nearest Starbuck's. We love this hotel and would like to be able to stay there. At their prices, however, management needs to visit each room, pretend to be a guest, and figure out what their competition would do. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Hotel St Francis - Convenient to Plaza"
Very nice quaint hotel in the middle of Santa Fe. Walking distance to many shopping museums and other local attractions. A very nice getaway spot.
"love the ambience"
Although the rooms are small, the bed was comfortable. it was quiet and lovely new remodel.
"Small but central and stunning"
The self-depricating descriptions even the St. Francis provides of its not-especially huge rooms might be a turn-off to out-of-towners used to rambling suites, but that's not the name of the game at this recently renovated Santa Fe charmer. With a lobby and common areas overflowing with the religious character (and appropriate relics) of the nearby […] churches in 400-year-old Santa Fe, the St. Francis is a different beast indeed than its larger and more spa-heavy contemporaries in the surrounding area. And yes, the rooms are not gigantic, but if you have the fortune to be placed (or simply ask) for a slightly larger standard room, you'll have plenty of space to circulate ... and windows to check out the uniformly adobe-colored surroundings outside. Inside, it's rustic meets modern as a small antique bureau doubles as your stand-up closet and an ancient writing desk hides a flat-screen TV. The floorboards, covered by carpet, squeak as you walk, but that's charm, not a defect; you can hear your neighbors down the hall so keep that in mind. My room featured a reasonably sized bathtroom with full tile and a new sink; space for toiletries is somewhat limited. The free wi-fi partially makes up for the lack of free coffee or tea service. Hallways and the stair landings overflow with historical photos and religious imagery; I did not try the newer-than-my-last visit restaurant or the bar, but did enjoy a late-night cocktail on the hotel's outdoor patio area during my last visit. A unique experience, to say the least. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Hotel St Francis less than expected"
Small cold room. Very little hot water both days of our 2 day stay. Disappointing.
"St. Francis Hotel in Santa Fe - heart of the city"
The hotel location is superb, the staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient, and the public areas of the hotel were large and pleasant - even romantic. Our standard queen room was charming, but small. The lighting was charming, but very awkward for the sink, which was in the bedroom. The toilet/tub area was adequate in size and appointments, but taking […] a shower while sandwiched between the window curtain and the shower curtain was somewhat claustrophobic. The wireless internet connection was free and adequately fast. Staying here in late November, we could keep the room adequately cool by opening the windows, but the thermostat for the room was unreachable, and I'm not sure whether the heater was putting out any heat. On the other hand, I like a cool room. I would stay here again, but travelers who like to spend a lot of time in their hotel rooms might opt for a different place or a larger room. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"historic feel"
Front dest was nice and very attentive. The restaurant waitress was great but the bar staff was a disappointment being stand offish and rude. Rooms are small (like a spare bedroom small) and there is no place to hang clothing or anything to set your luggage on. Not a complaint since this is an old historic hotel that is very clean, historically simple […] and has good beds. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"A great place to stay in Santa Fe"
In November, my girl friend and I spent 3 nights at the Saimt Francis. Its a beautiful, historic building located in the heart of downtown. Our room was small but comfortable. The dining room was exellent. We had a dinner and 2 breakfasts that were reasonably priced. The dining facilities were quite nice. Staff was attentive and friendly. We especially […] loved the front patio that receive wonderful morning sun. Great for reading and people watching. Our only complaint is that the shower water was cool on two mornings. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
"Great stay, even during a power outage"
Friendly service, great bed with super comfy sheets. Power went out in a snow storm and the place was cozy and well run. Simple and elegant.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, but it was over priced.
"Great hotel"
Little nosiey -we were on the first floor.
"St Francis Hotel in Santa Fe"
When we checked in the attendant had taken my mom and all of our baggage up to the room and as I was coming in after parking he came up to me and said that he felt like mom and I would be much more comfortable in another room. He was so right and we appreciated the hotel's hospitality in making us comfortable. The room was a little small and the bathroom […] is also a little smalll but the room is so well appointed was didn't care at all. The only thing I didn't check on that there was no air conditioning but we survived with 50 degree weather in the evening. The hotel is within walking distance of all restaurants and entertainment along with the plaza. Loved our stay and will definitely come back. Leslie อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Fantastic location just off the plaza, yet quiet and restful. Recently renovated, with beautifully understated decor, handcrafted furniture, wonderfully comfortable beds and linens, and windows that open to let in fresh air. The only downside: Standard rooms are very small--too small for a desk or chair--although thoughtful use has been made of the […] available space. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

"Hotel St. Francis in Santa Fe, NM"
I was disappointed in this stay at the St. Francis as the new owners have changed it dramatically from a beautiful and charming hotel to a "monestary like" hotel. Our room was very simplistic and sparse of lights (I couldn't even turn my side light on it was so difficult). The sink was difficult to use as it's a very modern bowl which might look good […] but nowhere to put your toiletries. The shower head was also impractical as it sprayed all over the place, including the floor being flooded because the shower curtain is not long enough. However, the bed and pillows were comfortable enough. The restaurant and bar have also changed dramatically and are now dark and monastic. Where or where did the old St. Francis go? Our disappointment was monumental. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
