In all fairness, I was in this room for one short night as I had a late arriving flight. In summary though, thought the hotel was very nice looking and stylish. Great patio and nice kitchen and bar scene. Guest passes to 24Hour Fitness a short block away was a very nice perk as well. My room was clean and nice, although nothing special. I am not sure because its thin walls, shared air conditioning vents, but the noise was the loudest I have heard from all my travels as of recently, and I travel a lot. The location is ideal--right on a Max light rail line and not far from the Portland Streetcar line, it is easy to get to and from. The neighborhood includes several great restaurants close enough to walk to. The hotel itself has a very nice restaurant with a great outdoor seating area. I stayed here when I was traveling around the Portland area for business. It is very convenient to I-5 and the airport. When I was in the room I was at ease. It was quiet and comfortable. There isn't much in the immediate vicinity in the way of food, but there is a lot just a short drive away.

This is my fourth or fifth stay at Hotel Modera. It's great. The front desk staff is super nice. Only issue is that the HVAC is very loud. Not a super big deal--you get used to it.

We really liked the hotel overall. My only complaint is that they gave us a wheelchair accessible room, which meant that we took our showers practically on top of the toilet. I called to see if they had a non-accessible room available, but they were all sold out. We didn't actually eat at the restaurant, but had a beer on the patio by the fire pit one […] night, which was really nice. Lovely hotel and rooms, just more sterile than we like. Very ultra modern, minimilist. If that is what you like this hotel is for you. Furniture in the lobby is extremely uncomfortable but the beds were good.

My son booked this hotel for me since it is right down the street from where he works - The Raven and Rose. It was very comfortable and the staff was friendly.

This is a lovely, modern (dare I say: hip) boutique hotel in the south end of Portland, right across the street from a Portland State University building. Nice, modern hotel: it showed particularly in the lobby and the room's bathroom. I particularly liked the furry-looking blanket that was included at the foot of the bed. From top to bottom, the Hotel Modera was excellent. The staff was always friendly, courteous and knowledgable. The room was clean and comfortable. The pass to the 24 Hour Gym a few blocks away allowed us to work out in a full service gym with pool. The valet service was quick, efficient and worth the extra charge. Spent the weekend exploring Portland for the first time, and this was an excellent base. Very convenient to public transportation, and easy walking all over downtown. Everyone was extremely friendly, the room was not generous, but not tiny. Nice amenities, and very quiet. would stay here again!

The staff was very friendly. I was in Portland because of a work training, I needed to print something and they printed what I needed for me. They were always ready to give direction and recommend a place to eat. I will defenitly stay there again.

Our stay at Hotel Modera was lovely! The staff was super-friendly, extremely helpful, but not annoyingly so. The lobby was beautiful, the room was perfect. The location was quiet and close to public transportation. I would gladly stay there next time I'm in Portland.

I travel to Portland for business monthly, and have become accustomed to a few simple amenities such as a fridge, microwave, ice machine, free parking and complimentary breakfast. ..not happening at the Hotel Modera. The rooms are nice enough but they seem just a little too impressed with themselves for my taste.

I would recommend Hotel Moderate to those who enjoy the boutique style. I will stay there again. The only issue I had was that the Hotel does not have a pool or any amentities like that. It does offer a free pass to a 24hr fitness that is one block over. Overall great.

I stay in 100+ hotels a year and see a lot of properties. The Hotel Modera is my favorite of at least the last six months. Great looking, trendy, chic property that is well maintained and clean. Nice amenities, comfortable room, good breakfast. I highly recommend the Modera

great hotel for the money. gym a block away. enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant. staff was great. room very clean and pleasant. room was small but had plenty of room.

Coming from the airport, just one transfer on the light rail system left me 1.5 blocks from the hotel. My business involved meetings at city offices on the edge of Portland State and it was a short walk to get there. The only concern was the non-secure wireless network otherwise I had no issues. I would certainly stay there again.

Located on the south edge of downtown, the hotel is within walking distance of downtown / Pearl District restaurants & bars. If you don't like walking, you can always take the tram. The rooms are very nicely finished, with funky bathrooms. The front counter and valet staff are super friendly and helpful.I would definitely stay here again!

I love the decor and ambiance of Modera's modern, chic boutique in a great location in downtown Portland. However, we got in after 11pm, due to our flight delays from California, and were disappointed to learn that the lounge and room service were all closed on a Thursday night, in conjunction with the restaurant - separate services from the hotel. […] We wanted a night cap post flight, and it was 12/20/12 after all - an evening of festive reflection for all the Mayan calendar hoopla! The front desk was nice enough to send up a complimentary bottle of wine, since we were first time guests. This was a nice gesture that will not be forgotten as we consider our next hotel stay in Portland.
