Friendly staff and great facilities. A fun and easy way to ski and stay at Squaw.

Convenient, lots of amenities. Our room could have been a little larger, but the facilities were great and the staff was accomodating. Certainly would recommend.

The Resort at Squaw Creek is what we can call an outstanding hotel. All the expectations we had about the hotel were completly fullfilled. The room (Firepalce suite) was really confortable and spacious with a wonderful view of the mountains. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. It's indeed the best choice in the Lake Tahoe area.

Holiday decorations were great, and the place was lovely. Staff was very good and seemed to be trained well and were helpful. Some snow and cold at night, but loved it all. On reservation noted that it was a anniversary and birthday. It would have been nice if a call was given to see if we would have liked wine or flower in the room.

We came to town for the tough mudder at squaw valley. The room was more than perfect for us. The location was close to the event and the hotel provided a shuttle to and from the event. The rates were reasonable. We had a nice porch area. The hot tubs are amazingly perfect. I would definately stay here again.

This Hotel/Resort was a great suprise on our recent trip, very comfortable rooms, good food and only a short trip to Tahoe or 50 min to Reno. Would love to visit during the winter.

When you stay here you are entering into a quasi legal arrangement to rent from an individual room owner: resort fee per night, transient occupant tax per night, Village civic fee per night. They shove this expense account under your door at 4 am on check out morning. They require a deposit on check in which turns out to be the way you pay for this […] hidden expense. hotel was empty. Seemed like a ghost town. Charged a hefty resort charge however some pools closed and the poolside bar/snack bar was closed. Some shops and restaurants shuttered. Checked out and the front desk forgot to send someone for the luggage even though there was a verbal acknowledgement to do so. (the car park guys rectified and says it happens […] all the time). Pool furniture showing signs of wear....the hotel staff has lost their attention to detail. This was my thord stay and I will not go back.....lost value in the experience. if you can afford the upgrade cost, get the mountain/valley view rather than the forest view. spectacular view.

This is our 3rd. visit to Resort at Squaw Creek. We are never disappointed. Really friendly and professional staff. What I love the most about this hotel ( other than the glorious views of the mountains) I love that this hotel is so quiet. You can actually get a good nights sleep. The rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable. Not located on Lake Tahoe […] but a short 8 mile drive into Tahoe City or even closer Olympic Village where there are shops and restaurants. This location and hotel is beautiful. Our view from the room was amazing. The room was very large and had a very nice kitchen area that we used alot. My husband loved that the golf course was right next to the resort. No driving necessary, its all right there. Thanks so much for a relaxing vacation.

This was our 2nd stay at The Resort at Squaw Creek. The hotel and surrounding mountains are beautiful, a great place for the family. Our kids chose swimming in the heated outdoor pool over playing in the snow, but the best of both worlds were available to them. The room service food is not the best tasting, especially considering the cost. Beautiful hotel - very well maintained. All the amenites that we needed seemed to be at our fingertips. The staff was ultra courteous. Not one time did someone say "no" or "we cant do that" The kids did mountain buddies and loved teacher Jordan. We ate at 6 Peaks multiple times - our steaks were cooked to perfection! The good news - a perfect location, great pool, multiple jacuzzi's in a stunning setting with waterfalls and bridges; comfortable beds and well appointed rooms. Great spa services and an above-average fitness center. Highly qualified staff at the ski shop and full-service valet for everything from skis to luggage to cars. The bad news - the resort's […] best restaurant is closed; all restaurants close at 10pm!!! and the bar closes at 11pm!!! In general, food quality was good but not outstanding and customer service was adequate. Pillows are down with a synthetic option but are too small. We stayed at the resort for spring break 2011. Had never been to Tahoe. Beautiful area. The early part of stay wasn't great since a lot of things at the hotel were closed (outdoor patio snack area, skating rink, dog sledding, etc). This was due to rain/sleet/snow. Once the weather got better, which was end of our stay, I could see how great this resort […] was. Not much in the area to do outside of the resort though, without rental car, so if you are not into skiing every day you may be limited. Our room was great - go for the fireplace suite with Valley view. I wouldn't have given up that view for anything -and the room space was great, along w/the small kitchen area. Service overall was great. Consierge employees nice but not really helpful - you really have to manage your own stay since they didn't seem to be clear on some things. We booked noting the advertised "ski in and out". There is a lift (and a ticket booth) near the back of the hotel, but upon looking at Squaw ski map there and asking some folks it was found the slope is marked blue (intermediate) so is the link to the main Squaw ski area. Also if you just stay for a night, don't […] bother storing the gears in their basement and boots in your room to ski out next day - it's a great hustle and you have to tip their multiple bell boys well. My wife and I got away for a quiet weekend. The resort was perfect. We took the valley view fireplace suite and were very pleased. The view was beautiful and the room well appointed. What really set it apart was the level of service of the staff. From the valet to house keeping, everyone was concerned with making it a wonderful stay. The shuttle to […] Squaw Valley was very convenient, and we found no need for a car for the weekend. Every thing you need is available at the resort. Great location. There is a free shuttle service to the village: where you can get on various ski lifts. The cross country course is excellent: for both beginners and advanced skiers. You can also cross country ski to the village, if you are fit enough. Not much shopping at the hotel, restaurant food is ok.

Older hotel but has been kept up and has nice lodge feel. Close to base of Squaw. Chairlift on property can be used to get to the rest of the mountain, or take the hotel shuttle. Lots of winter activities on the property.

Our stay was excellent. The weather was great which enabled to take advantage of the beautiful pool and hot tubs. We stayed in a Fireside room which was very cozy .

I cant believe the 5 star ratings here. Very old hotel. The rooms are compartmentalized and feel very cramped. Weak fireplace and the valley view rooms get a lot of noise fro the village bars. We had loud par tiers well into the morning hours which kept us from keeping the windows open. Great views of the mountains though

I had stayed here previously and there was a problem with the room size for five people sharing two rooms. This problem was resolved, but it was a hassle, and very time-consuming. This time my husband and I were supposed to get a first floor room with a "private" veranda, overlooking Squaw Valley (ski resort). The room did NOT have a veranda/porch...in […] fact the view was TOTALLY blocked by a supporting structure of the building! In this era where hotels are cutting costs by reducing staff, shortcutting services, eliminating in-room products, and generally regard visitors as mere revenue opportunities, it was a delight for my wife and I to find a resort that still regarded us as guests. Our room number 660 was outstanding! The bed, the linens, the kitchenette, the views--everything was simply top notch. We generally do not go back to places once we have experienced them. In order to cool the room and avoid hearing the neighbors on both sides, we had to shut the pocket doors.

Everything we experienced here was great, with only a couple of exceptions. 1. The suite, although nice, was a bit cramped and smaller than I expected. Be warned however, Everything here is Expen$sive. The Food, the drinks, bike rentals, Room Service, an extra air mattress for the room, spa treatments. This resort is a beautiful facility with gorgeous surroundings. We stayed in a forest view suite and the room was impeccable. We had room service for breakfast one morning and the food was delivered exactly on schedule and the waiter set up the table and food plates like we were in the restaurant. It was wonderful. There are a couple of restaurants […] and pubs in the facilty. Food and service was great. There is also a nice deli for coffee, food, and just about anything else you could want. We chose this location because of the history of the winter olympics in Squaw Valley. The hotel was very good, clean and professionally staffed. It was our rotten luck that the couple in the next room was incredibly loud. We called maintenance for a slow draining sink but they couldn't fix the problem. There were several events that made our stay disappointing: •Resort fees were not listed when we made our reservations. Knowing internet access was needed the fee was paid. The first surprise came when neither room was able to connect to the internet. The only explanation offered was: "we've made some changes and have had some problems with internet […] access.” We were directed to the business center for internet access at an additional change. Second, we asked about transportation to Olympic Village and were told that most everything was currently shut-down pending the start of the ski season. Remind me again why I was being charged a resort fee. •Customer Service. One evening we returned to our rooms to find bottled water, with a note. "compliments of the Hotel" on the counter. The next morning, our friends in the next room received a call informing them the water was placed there by mistake and not to drink any more of it as it would be removed when they cleaned the room. We did not receive a call, but sure enough, the water was gone when we returned; no note, no message. •Parking. we were again nickel and dimed as anything withing a mile of the hotel was valet parking. Having stayed at other Destination properties, we were expecting a similar experience at this location. Unfortunately, it was not. The Resort at Squaw Creek was clean, comfortable and moderately priced. It was one of a very few area hotels that did not require a multi-night stay. The staff was helpful, especially the valet staff. They were polite, fast and most efficient. Went for Labor Day weekend. Overall good hotel. Did upgrade ourselves to the fireplace suite with valley view (with extra cost). The forest view looked bleak. Have to walk outdoors to get to the rooms. Drive to the lake was shorter than expected, a bonus. Tried the food at Six peak restaurant. I think the food was adequate but should be better. Would […] recommend going somewhere else if you don't mind driving outside of the resort. A deeper swimming pool would be nicer. Staying at the resort at Squaw Creek was an outstanding experience and I would recommend this place to everyone!

The hotel, surrounding area, staff, restaurants, all A++! Would absolutley recommend this to friends and will absolutly return again. The only thing I was mildly disappointed about was that the rooms do not have a balcony....too bad because the views would be even better.

Over all the resort was beautiful and picturesque like the photos shown on Hotel.com. We had a room with two queen size beds equip with two dreamy pillow top mattresses that gave us a restful sleep. The space in the room was a bit tight to hold two queen size beds. We really didn't spend much of our day in our room though to let this bother me. One […] thing that did bother me was that the resort charges a mandatory usage fee of $16 per day that covers the use of their fitness room, pool, and tennis courts. I was surprise because at most hotels the use of the pool and fitness room are included. Took a Mini Vacation to Tahoe and decided to splurge for the "resort" experience. I was totally blown away by everything. Awesome location, great hotel with very nice layout. Had a great time and will definetly go back. if i had to write a negative i would say that if you are too cheap to splurge for the Valet Parking then it is a little bit of a walk […] from the self parking to the hotel lobby.
