Initial impressions were good-a conveniently placed hotel,with bright clean rooms,but one stairway to car park was dirty More importantly the breakfast room was unattended & was often therefore in need of attention. Hotel is fine for what you paid. I did not think it would be a great place, but was surprised that the beds were pretty comfortable. Continental breakfast was nothing to write home about, and things were missing such as creamer, butter. Room was ok, but it looked like the bathroom was not fully cleaned before we arrived. First let me say that wife and I stayed here 3 or 4 years ago and were VERY impressed. Very clean, well maintained and decorated, great breakfast, etc. But that was then, and this review is about last weekend. Property still nicely decorated outside and in lobby, but room was needing attention. No fitted sheet or mattress cover on king bed, lampshade […] needed replacing, broken tiles in bath/shower, and-biggest disappointment-breakfast was a huge letdown. We went to breakfast the first morning at about 9 (closes at 10) and it was nearly empty of food. NOTE: Hotel was nowhere near full, maybe 30-40% at best. Next day, wife went down and it was the same way. There must have been a management change, because service was nowhere near what it was, and employees seemed to be possibly even living there in some rooms. Management needs to make a commitment to maintaining/upgrading before word gets out and people stop coming. That may already be why the hotal had so many vacancies. The elevator didn't work, the ice machines didn't work on our floor and the water heater must've been on 60 degrees because I didn't get a hot shower the whole time I was there. Wouldn't recommend this hotel in the off season.

IT IS DISGUSTING!!! it had a dirty ring in toilet. Mold in the shower and shower curtain was covered. Wall paper was coming off several walls. The hall floors near elevator and floors without carpet had dirt caked all over it and shoved in the corners. it use to be a nice hotel. The outside phisade is cute, but inside is utter gross!

This hotel stay was the worst experience of any hotel we've ever stayed in. Upon check in, we had to wait for maintenance to tear apart our card reader lock and redo it so we could get in the room. There was no phone, no TV remote to operate the television, and the moldy, musty smell was overpowering. I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, […] and almost fell because a puddle of water on the tile floor from a leak overhead. An on going problem evidently since the ceiling was moldy and had been partially patched. I would guess that this also added to the abundant mold growth on the shower curtain. Add to this the security door at the outside rear entrance was broken and anyone could walk in and out at anytime. My recommendation for a stay in this hotel....DON'T! Extremely dirty, mold, tub full of water when we went into the room. Hair in the tub like it had never been cleaned, and mildew on the bars of soap the hotel supplies.

The room smelled horrible, had to go buy air fresher. It was a good place to sleep but that's about it. Also walls are very then, heard the people staying next to us.

I was very dissapointed in this hotel. At first, the front and the lobby seemed ok, but then we got to the room and it was badly in need of an update. Also, our rom had obviously once been a smoking room and you could still smell it. The room wasn't dirty, but just obviously well used.

Poor condition of rooms and not modernized

When we got to our room I always check the entire room before we unpack. I looked in the bathroom and found some "Curlies" (Pubic Hair) in the tub which was nasty. We washed them down the drain and was OK. The telephone wasn't working even though they told us free local calls I guess so if the phone doesn't work. They told us they would send the Maintenence […] in the next morning. They never came. The hotel is located not far from Historic Williamsburg which is a plus, but it is off the beaten path for restaurants. Upon checking in the guy at the desk was nice even though he was eating pizza and seemed more interested in getting back to it. Overall its a bed and a shower,not much more. The staff was very friendly and the Hotel was cute. The carpet in the room was dirty, I returned home with very dirty scoks. The breakfast room news serious hlp. The table and the counters very dirty and the coffee counter was literally falling apart. You would think that this would be one place where a good impression would be important. Breakfast […] consisted of coffee (yuck) and stale bagels and nasty pastry. The cleaning staff should do a better job, especially since this is in a historic area. OUTSTANDING!!! Very clean and staff were very helpful. Location was excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!!! I will stay there again when I am in this area.

Prior to staying at the hotel. I had read all the reviews and I'm not sure what those reviewers were expecting. My wife and I had a wonderful time there. The Bed was amazingly soft and comfy and the shower was the right temperature. My lone complaint was that the hot tub wasnt hot enough to my tastes, but I only had time to use it once in four nights. […] The hotel was perfectly located between all the shopping that my wife wanted to do and the historic area for me. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who asked. Oh yeah, the cookies were delicious. You gotta try them. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone, the rooms that we have were dirty. The first one the smell that it have was awful, the bathroom dirty. We talk to manager but they could not change the room because it was a very busy weekend and we have a pet with us. We finally have a second room after the door lock and could not be open with our keys. The second […] room was not better than the first one at least the sheets did not stink. But the bathroom ceiling was falling and have mold in the ceiling room.Only one lock of the room works. The pool, they said it was heated not really and very dirty too. we have to leave early because we could not stay in a room with those conditions, when we talk to the manager they offer another room " the previous room that we have. don't waste your money in this hotel. The hotel was convenient to everything but the hotel is rundown and outdated. Mirror in Bathroom was broken...not a huge deal but I have a small child so yeah...big deal. Bathroom not very clean and toilet ran all night long.

Elevator had a very musty oder, almost unberable. Ice maker on the second floor did not work at all. Ice maker on the first floor only gave me a half of a bucket once. Screens were missing from 2 of 4 windows. HBO never worked the entire weekend. Many stains on the carpet in our room. Management was unhelpful and seemed irratated by my conplaints. Over all pretty clean. there were two issues in the bathroom. One concerned cleaning and the other was repair. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was above average.

We were waken up twice (4:00-5:00am) by fire alarm. Every ran out of the building (esp. the first time). It turned out it was because of the swamp fire (smoke) near the hotel building, which had nothing to do with the hotel. It should have been clarified at the first time, but why did it happen twice? It was really annoying!

Everything was fantastic!!!! Keep up the good work!!!! :)

I was dissappointed with the fitness room as it was below standards. The hotel needed improvement and some things weren't readily avaiable.

You get what you pay for, a place to sleep, don't expect anything extra. Bathrooms were a bit dirty, doesn't look like they scrub the toilets or tubs.

The hotel had the doortrim fall off when I opened the door. As I entered the room the strong mildew smell was noticable. Then you see the dirty stained ceilings and sticky, dark, filthy carpeting (I didn't want to put anything on the floor or walk barefoot.) The wallpaper was peeling, There was dark black mold in the bathroom ceiling. It was a Sat. […] night and no other vacancies so we tried to put up with it until my girlfriend went into the bathroom and found large brown spiders crawling around. They were huge. The stay there ruined our weekend and we decided to drive 2 1/2 hours back home at midnight and end out trip early. Did not received appropriate housekeeping services. The room was extremely damp and moldy. It was a very disappointing experience. The hotel is in a good access area.

The hotel was very tired looking inside. The ice machine on our floor was broken. The toilet in our room ran. We never had enough towels and when the front desk was called about problems like not enough towels or broken remote for tv, we were told to come to the front desk. When I asked for a knifein the breakfast room, they said they had none and proceeded to leave the room and not return. Do not book at this hotel.. The room was not clean. The shower had hair all over the walls. Do not book here.

The staff was very friendly. They let us check in 5 hours before actual check in. That was the only good thing about this hotel. Room was very dark. Wall paper was peeling off the wall, sheets and towels were dirty. Bathroom ceiling was very moldy.

Close to dining and within six miles of most attractions (Water country, Busch Gardens, etc.). Cheap rate on Hotels.com was our reason for staying here and it suited our needs - a place to shower and sleep :-) The continental breakfast had cereal, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, etc and is good enough for a day or two. They had fresh coffee available 24/7 […] and that was a nice perk (no pun intended), however, if you are a freak about a clean new room then this is not the place for you. The room was a bit old, a little musty, and the bathroom had seen better days but again, not horrible. Each staff member we ran in to was very warm, courteous and helpful - even when we asked for extra towels. My Wife found bugs on the bed when the covers were pulled back at bed time. The basement/lowest floor was very musty and needs serious work. The breakfast is not that great, even though I wasn't expecting much. But the price was good and the location great.

The hotel was fine. The front desk was always helpful, and friendly. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner, but the hotel served the purpose we wanted. The pool was nice for the kids. We recently stayed at the Days Inn & were disappointed with the staff as well as the condition of the room (Rm. 231). The staff were unwelcoming & uncommunicative in general. The lobby was beautiful & deceiving as it turned out. Our room was tidy but here are a few details that were not acceptable: scraped-up walls, our door frame was damaged, mold […] on the shower curtain, the remote control was not functioning & not enough linens for the bathroom. My Family enjoyed our four days stay at this hotel. The room was clean. The stuff were nice. We enjoyed the pool and the Jaccuzi. Breakfast was good and they had coffee all day. The price was reasonable for this hotel.

This was my third stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located close to shopping and many restaurants. It would be nice if they had a waffle maker with their continental breakfast and more fruit.

I had read other reviews and was a little nervous about staying at this Days Inn. It was great, I took my sister to Williamsburg and she really loved this motel, she even got a business card to share with her friends. I would stay here again. My fiance and I decided last minute to do an overnight trip out of time in Williamsburg. When we got to this hotel it was cute as a button. Rocking chairs on the wrap around front porch, very clean looking pool. When walked inside to a very cute old style parlor, wooden stairs to the upstairs and all. The place smelled like cookies! We found out when […] we came back from dinner the young lady at the front desk was actually baking cookies! The young ladies at the front desk were very cheerful and polite. The location was wonderful, short drive to get to numerous restaurants and it was probably about twenty minutes at most to busch gardens and watercountry, as we passed the exits for both. on the way out. The price was right, service, location, and atmosphere was great. The only negative thing I have to say is about the breakfast, which left a lot to be desired.
