Visited the Novotel Birmingham as just somewhere to sleep on a night out in the city. Of course found a great rate on this website, but were very happy with the quality of the hotel. I would recommend it for cleanliness and location if you are wanting somewhere near the nightlife, but don't book in here if you want a quiet night!

Wanted a hotel near the city centre and this fitted the bill perfectly. Clean room with seperate toilet and shower room which suited the two of us as we were staying over night to be reay for a long day of business meetings. Checked in quite late, but this wasn't a problem as they have 24hr reception. The car park was underneath the hotel with full […] height barrier so the car was safe overnight, but was a little on the expensive side. Very nice hotel, pricesarerather steep but the location and quality of the hotle is good.

Nice and convenient for Broad Street and all that it has to offer. Car park is underground a struggle for the average saloon Food and bar area niVce and pleasant, surprise was the TV table for the single traveller which allowed me to eat and watch the footie! When we arrived the check in was fine and efficient. Unfortunately our room felt like it was from the 70s and done up on a shoe string and hence, very dated. There was also a large 'bogie' on the wall which had not been cleaned. Quite disappointing.

She was so helpful in gettin train tickets to getting my missing bags to ordering Indian food!

hotel was ok, but nothing special, executive room offered bathrobes, slippers and nespresso coffee machine. location very good right in the centre. The only problem was that we were let to believe that we had booked a smoking room ( went for the option other than NS rooms and on booking we requested a smoking room) only to find out on arrival that the […] whole hotel was non smoking. Greatly situated on Broad Street, great value and a lovely clean hotel

Was a really nice stay. Brilliant location, cant complain! Was quiet considering it was on broad street. Its also right next to Sainsbury, so you can get any snacks etc rather than paying for room service which is sooo expensive. Esp outgoing calls. But you hardly need these services so its ok!!! All in all really uptodate, clean hotel.

My wife and I stayed for two nights over the weekend at this Hotel. It has a really beautiful ambience and we were surprised, having stayed at other Accor properties like Etap.The room was clean, though the bed seemed to be a bit broken. When we sat on one side, the other side seemed to be lifting up! It did not affect our sleep though. We also managed […] to get a room at the back of the hotel, so were not affected by the street noise. Convenient, new!

the hotel was excellent staff very good check in excellent hotel was in a ecellent location for christmas markets and the NIA for the show we attended we will go back to this hotel

Everything about the hotel seemed great on arrival. Good sized room, fancy coffee machine, friendly staff and great location. However I had an awful night sleep as the pillows and duvet were just awful. Shocking to have such awful bedding in a four star hotel. We will not be returning for this reason.

The Hotel itself was very nice and in an excellent location. The rooms very comfy (apart from a scrubby looking carpet) and lovely bathroom apart from the toilet being in a room on its own! And if driving and parking at the hotel be AWARE that there is a £13 charge to park overnight which was not mentioned at time of booking! I enjoyed my stay and liked that it was close to all the amenities that I was visiting as well as not being far from city centre/train station. We really enjoyed the two Indian platter starters that we had. If I come back again I would request this as my main.We were dissapointed with main meals cheese tart didnt like at all had better elsewhere and […] at a cheaper hotel, coleslaw had too much pepper in and so did the piri chicken and I like pepper. Portion sizes good. Breakfast vegetarian sausages were tasteless and I have stayed at the Copthorne and Premier Inn which both offer a better alternative for anyone who doesn't eat pork otherwise there was a nice variety. Enjoyed my time in the steam room a nice relaxing area. would have thought there would have been a shower next to the steam room so as not to trail water from the sauna area. The bedroom was a nice size really think you have given thought to the layout, good to have a separate toilet to the bathroom and a door separting these from the bedroom. The room and hotel was fantastic. Really nice, modern feel to rooms. The staff were fantastic and extremely friendly and helpful. I had a slight problem with the bill andeven this was sorted out quickly, efficiently and with the minimum of fuss. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Really nice and quiet hotel, bed was very comfortable with a choice of cushions to your taste (feather, synthetic, large, small and any combination of those). bar was open till late and breakfast was very well catered for (both English and continental), even the croissants tasted ok. We stayed here as were going to the Symphony Hall. We were very pleased with the hotel - very clean and rooms well furbished and bigger than expected. Nice to have a separate toilet. Ipod connection an unexpected bonus. Hotel service excellent. We would definitely stay here again. We parked in the car park and thought rate was more than reasonable

Stayed a Saturday night in September(mistake)! Noisy hen parties, Limos having a disco on pavement below, traffic noise, sirens, until about 2am when it started raining. Right in the heart of clubland!! Fine if you like that but I would not recommend for family! I did complain but all he said was I will pass it on to the manager.

Great place to stay - rooms are a bit tatty but the lobby and bar is great, breakfast really nice and so all good. Upgraded to executive room was worth it just cos I needed internet access so that came for a tenner, and then all movies for free. Ideal for a business trip away. Happy days!!

Reasonably priced, friendly staff, basic, comfortable room, in an ideal location for access to Birmingham shops, arena's & al fresco dining. Minutes from New Street station( even walking distance ) Will use again for visit to this city.

I stayed at this hotel end of july 2011. The hotel was rated 4 star, which i would agree with in all aspects except for the bedroom. The reception area the dining and all other facilities that I experienced were very good, but the bedroom was only average. I did not like how the toilet was separate to the bathroom, yet had no wash basin in it, and I […] would say the bedroom itself was not as comfortable as the Premier Inn hotels that I have stayed in, in the past. Helpful friendly reception staff, 20 mins complimentary internet service in foyer! clean bedroom and bathroom, comfy sofa bed. attentive restaurant staff with good choice of english/ continental breakfast. short walk to Brindley Place and Five Ways/New Street train stations. Would happily stay again on business/leisure.

We stay for a night, very nice hotel, very helpful employees, comfortable room with nice modern bathroom ( shower + Bath). The room was clean. A bit scared for the noise when we arrived as it is situated in one of the most popular night out street, but we didn't hear anything. Some modernisation taking place which involved an aroma of adhesive or some such substance. The upgrade was an improvement on our previous stays. I was disappointed to be charged for parking my car while staying there. I would expect that free for guests. Breakfast was fine, we had the continental.

Ideal location for the NIA and Symphony Hall, easy to park and the breakfast was great.

This hotel is Ok but not good value for money. Hotel currently being refurbished so the foyer is currently a building site. Was given a disabled room despite being abled. Breakfast on my first morning was a 10 minute wait whilst they found me a table. However staff are friendly and helpful. This is a 3 star at best.

right in the middle of the action and car parking

Very comfortable hotel, a short and pleasant walk from city centre (via canals and pedestrian areas). One slight problem is noise from revellers leaving the local nightclubs in the middle of the night but other than that, very good. Ikon gallery is just around the corner.

Very convenient for central birmingham and good choice of local restaurants. Broad street was very noisy on the saturday night and was glad we were not at the front of the hotel. Overalla pleasant stay and would use again.

This hotel is extremely well located. It is in one of the main entertainment areas of this vibrant city. It has its own car park, but as I didn't use it I can't make any useful comment on it. There are many buses which stop nearby, but it is only a 10 minute walk, on the flat, into the city centre. The room was well appointed, with a wonderfully comfortable […] queen sized bed. My room also had a sofa bed. Even though it is on a main thoroughfare there was no noise and this was staying on a Friday evening. The staff was extremely friendly. Everything throughout the stay run smooth. The quality of the room wasn't the best standard I have seen. Overall nothing to complain about. If I ever need to go back to Birmingham I would consider Novotel as a first option.

My companies Christmas party was in the conference rooms at the hotel, these were a little under decoratated for the festive season, but they were a good size and the staff were very helful. The drinks were very expensive, even for Broad Street so it was lucky that the company were footing the bill. The room was lovely, modern and well equipt. Like many hotels this is right in the thick of things, in Broad St next to the Convention Centre, so all the things you'd want to see as a tourist are close by. Despite the presence of so many clubs etc nearby we had a very quiet room so the double galzing must work well. Good quality breakfast, and overall a good standard. We booked our stay on-line as we were attending a concert at the N.I.A which when we arrived was litterally a 5 minute walk (perfect no driving or parking) The hotel has a car park underneath. Also within a 5 minute walk we found the canal with a great selection of bars and restaurants, we also walked to the main shopping centre which was within 10-15minutes. […] The hotel room itself was very spacious and clean,the bathroom was really stylish with hairdryer and iron and ironing board along with mini fridge and drink making facilities. They have a restaurant for evening meals and brekfast but we went by the canal for dinner and just across the road to Weatherspoons for breakfast (cheaper). This hotel brought everthing expected. A super nice room, Nespresso machine in the room, comfort, peace... It is very well located, many restaurants around and easy access. B'fast was nice. The machine making fresh orange juice splashed on my shirt (it happens...) , the hotel washed everything very quickly for free. I warmly recommend.

Dreadful hotel with in poor condition and poor staff. Overpriced and dirty. Only good thing is location but would recommend any other of the hotels in the same area.
