"Stale smoke smell"
The only thing negative about the place was that it reeked of stale smoke.

"Freeway Close"
I've stayed at this location a couple of times; this time my room was located right next to the elevator with the door and windows facing toward the freeway; both were a negative. Ask for a room in the back; no noise. Great breakfast, clean, nice variety of foot.

"It was conveinient to shops"

Beautiful area and beautiful grounds...close to shopping, restaurants, Cal Lutheran, and the Reagan Library. We stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was very good and well supplied. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Upon arriving at the hotel after a long day of shopping my sister and I were greated at the desk by the clerk in a very wrinkled and drity shirt. He was not warm and welcoming. We were assigned a room on the thrid floor. I asked for a room on a lower floor. I was told there were none available. We asked the desk clerk if he could recommend a place for […] dinner. He tossed a printed sheet of paper with local resturants and said you can pick from the list. They he then gave us 2 packaged cookies and 2 bottles of warm water. Once we got to the room, the room had a odor that was overwhemling, and the carpets were filthy and there was hair in the sink and bathtub. I called down to the desk to ask for a different room. There was no answer at the desk. I called back 2 hours later and complained about the room and the clerk said they would clean the room tomorrow. We were only staying 1 night. The next moring I went back to the desk, I stood there for about 5 minutes before the desk clerk came to the desk. She looked like she just rolled out of bed after sleeping in her work clothes. I called the next day to speak to the manager. He asked for my name and told me he would make a mental note of our conversation. "Easy Access, Simple Stay, Free Breakfast"
If you are looking somewhere to stay and don't want to spend a lot, just a simple hotel room would do, then this is a great place. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while in town for a wedding, and it was very clean, comfortable, and a nice, simple, inexpensive place to stay. The staff was quick to respond to any request (e.g. towels, more coffee […] at breakfast, etc.) and the free breakfast was definitely a plus. I read the other reviews before booking this hotel and I tend to agree with alot of those reviews. I stayed here 1 night on my way thru. Location was good and the price was the lowest in the area. I stayed in the middle of the week, so the hotel was not crowded. However, upon arriving at my room when opening the door the smell was overwhelming. It was […] a warm day (90's) and the air conditioner was off. It smelled very musty and old. I thought maybe just because the air condtioner had been off. I turned the air condtioner on and then was gone for the evening. When I came back the smell was a little better, but not a lot. There are also no amenities, meaning no little bottle of lotion or anything. The bed was actually pretty comfortable. Not hard like most hotel beds.Breakfast was the standard continental breakfast. "For the price, it could use some updating"
I booked this room while touring the area. I was at Venice beach and it was the closest hotel within a reasonable cost range. The rooms are very outdated, small, and not very comfortable. As a place just to sleep a night, it was okay. I wouldn't book a week there though.
"Biggest bang for your buck!"
Stayed for one night for a lot less than the nearby hotels, and this was by far worth it. Clean facilities, clean bed, modernish sink, and most importantly clean bathroom. I would def stay here again if given th opportunity.

Great location, Very clean rooms, . we were not told at check-in that breakfast was in the morning and what time it ended so we missed it. otherwise the stay was great.
"Pleasantly Surprised"
Relatively new property in good condition. All went well. Recommend an "Office" sign as it wasn't obvious at first. I'd stay again!
"Quiet Stay"
The stay was very pleasent. Everyone was very nice and professional. I called about the noice at the pool and it was taken care of in a timely matter. If we are ever in Thousand Oaks again we will stay there.
This hotel has no penalty for smoking in a no smoking room and it shows it. We reserved two rooms and it took 4 other rooms to finally have rooms that did not smell of smoke. Smoke smelling rooms make non-smokers who like clean air sick.

La Quinta gets it in terms of what to provide for guests. Nice clean room. Spacious. Fridge and Microwave which is handy having a 3 year old with us and eating out is more hassle than convenience. Pool for the kids and hot tub for adults. We were very satisfied with our stay. And will stay there again next time we're in town. Was truly the amenities […] of home away from home. "Smelled wet with water stains"
We intended to stay at LaQuinta for 3 nights. The room upon entering smelled musty and damp. The carpet was full of stains and the floor near the bathroom was still wet. The refrigerator had no temperature control and froze everything we put in it. The refrigerator also was leaking as it needed to be defrosted ant there were large hunks of ice in it. […] The bed was not very comfortable. The breakfast was good It was told at check in breakfast was served until 9am. We went down about 10 minutes before 9 and they were collecting everything. After staying for 2 nights my family and I moved to another hotel right up the street that was much more acceptable. Bottomline there are cleaner, more comfortable hotels very close by. This hotel is strategically located. It is convenient. The cleanliness & maintainability needs to be improved. There were lots of loose dry leaves all over the place. it appears they do not sweep or clean up the surrounding on a daily basis. the elevator needs to be sweep & mop. The floor is dirty. The bedroom is relatively acceptable but the odor of […] the dog seemed to have stick on the carpet. The carpet needs shampooing.The breakfast buffet is good. It is complete with yogurt, boiled eggs, fresh fruits, cereal. But the oatmeal could not done in a microwave. The available hot water from the thermos pot is not hot enough to cook the oatmeal. "Comfortable beds"
I was surprised that the beds were comfortable. I have a bad back and have trouble at hotels, but this one was great. The staff was mediocre, but I wasn't there for their association anyway. Will stay there again.

The hotel definitely needs updating. Their door mats are totally worn out, the whole hotel looks outdated. Not what we have seen in other La Quinta Inn hotels.

"The location was perfect and less expensive..."
For my business travel puposes, this was the best fit: very close to where I needed to be for work, but less expensive than other company recommended places to stay. The King Bed was comfy, the continental breakfast provided a lot of options and the pool looked very nice, even though I didn't get a chance to use it. "perfect if you have pets"
this location is perfect when I have business to attend to in the Thousand Oaks area. Pets are allowed, which is why I stay here. The room I recently stayed was clean but the fan/heater/air was a littl too loud,will I return? Yes. This is my 6th visit, which tells you something.

I have stayed at this location many times over the past few years. Always a good value for the price of the room. I have noticed a little decline in the cleanliness of the rooms, specifically the carpets. The last two times I smelled a cat or pet smell in the room. I have stayed at this location a few times in the past always at the very least, satisfied. The rate is excellent for this area. I have noticed an increase in truckers and pets, at one point it sounded like I was in a kennel. In addition, I have been seeing the cleanliness of the guest rooms decline over the visits. "Moderate hotel, moderate price"
The breakfast was nice, wifi worked, the room was clean and I wasn't really going to this hotel for "ambience" Seemed like there were a lot of families traveling through and staying here. As a single business traveler the hotel was functional with a few amenities of note.
