An attractive, quiet, modern hotel with a fireplace and attractive breakfast room greeted us when we checked in. We booked via Hotels.com and got an excellent rate at the last minute, and our free breakfast was very much more than continental. Our room had a desk and a couch, and we enjoyed the view out the window of the beautiful trees surrounding […] the hotel. We really needed a get-away from our jobs, and it was restful and pleasant to stay at the Marriott and eat dinner and brunch at an Italian-vegetarian restaurant Radoci in downtown Portsmouth. The hotel quality was just fine and the staff very nice. My only complaint really goes to hotels.com and not to the hotel itself. When I made reservations over the phone I was told this hotel was in the downtown center -- it is not; it is in an office park just a bit too far to walk to downtown. Went to hotel for New Year's Eve and found out when we got there that they didn't have shuttle service to the downtown 1st night events. The other Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth did have this service, why not here? The taxi wait was over an hour! We stayed at this hotel with our two children. The room was set up well for families, with such niceties as having the sink outside the bathroom. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Location makes it easy to get to downtown Portsmouth or to hop on 95 to get to Kittery, etc. or on the Spaulding to get to Durham. Great stay here. Check in and out was quick and simple and the staff was very friendly. The elevator went out of service at one point and it was a bit of a hassle to walk to one end of the building and up two flights of stairs, but that was out of their control. Overall...a great hotel and kept up VERY well!

The staff was great!! Too often you go places and many do not have meaning behind "have a great night" or "thank you for coming to stay with us." The staff was genuine in their words. The room was clean and comfortable! I would recommend anyone to stay here!

Never slept a wink. HVAC came on every five minutes for 3 seconds. Very loud and totally annoying.

We stayed one night. It was a quiet time of year. The room was clean and comfortable. The room service and breakfast was affordable. The overall stay was excellent.

This hotel is on the outskirts of Portsmouth, not downtown. However, a great buy if you want quiet and comfort with a restaurant/bar and indoor pool/fitness center. Restful and clean. I had a problem with neighboring noise at 1 am and hotel staff dealt with it immediately and gave my kids free breakfast.

The room was very clean, beautifully furnished and with convenient appicances (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker). The only problem I encountered was the sound of the highway truck traffic throughout the night which kept me awake.

We had booked with Hotels .com in early july 6, and we eneded up in a Handicapped room on the 1st floor near the trash compactor, which made un necessary noise late in the evening. At 1st we had asked for another room with no success. left a msg with the front desk for the manager, and the mgr was not in house at the time. I call the mgr once I return […] home, and I was not impress with her attitude, only that she will speak with the help on this problem. We had booked our room @ the Courthyard Marriott in Portsmouth, NH from many other nice Hotels. But was very disapointed with our stay, not getting the room we had looked forward to having, being a Handicapped room, location on the 1st floor near the trash compacted area with loud noise last into the night. Having made a complaint with the staff and […] manager, with no concern with our feelings. Indicaed we will speak to our staff and also just apologize with no regards to us. This was a great room, we were pleasantly surprised by how up to date it was and just plain nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! The bed was great!

The room and common areas were spotless!! Very impressed with the new look Courtyard has. Large flatscreen in room was a plus. The food was priced right and good for the menu they have for breakfast. Would recomend this hotel to others especially if your touring downtown. Less than a 5 min drive.

needed to change rooms 2 x but staff was helpfull. not much going on for nightlife.

Courtesy, Comfort and Convenience. Need I say more? Everyone here was courteous and always smiling, both in the main hotel and in the restaurant. The room was very spacious and comfortable, a lot better than i expected. The housekeeping staff was wonderful. Downtown Portsmouth as well as the highway were literally a 2 minute drive. The hotel itself […] was tucked back in some woods, though, and was very quiet. The only drawback was that the mattress was hard, but all of the other positives definitely outweighed this one negative!!
