The only cons we had was we were assigned to the wrong room & the room was a mess, but they gave us a much better room; the day of check-out, the toilet didn't flush well & caused a flood in the room, but the hotel has such an amazing staff & they took care of everything. Marco Polo - Ramada (Miami) - good location, facilities - OK. Problems: when I booked, the website did not inform me on resort charges ($10 per day), though said 'taxes and resort fees included'. I'd prefer to know all my charges in advance when I do booking, not when I arrive to the hotel. Also, the last day before Passover, the continental breakfest […] included only cerial and frutes, no bread, no eggs, no cheese... This hotel was nothing it claimed to be. Our room was fit for perhaps drunken spring breakers. It smelled musty and was not clean. We stayed at the Marco Polo for only 1 night upon returning from a cruise. They were able to accomodate us and checked us in very early which was extremely helpful since we were travelling with 2 young children. Our room was very large and had a nice kitchenette. "Marco Polo Hotel1902 Collins Ave - N Miami Beach"
The air conditioning sounded like a lawn mower with very poor maintenance. The breakfast tray and all its smells of onions was not collected from our room until we returned to the room at 10pm when we placed the tray in the corridor. It was still there at 9am in the morning.

The bed was very comfortable. The hotel personnel were nice. The dinner service was awful. Way to expensive. The pizza was delicious...I wish they would have let me know 18.00 for parking. And 18.00 for valet.

There were additional fees that showed up when we checked in. Towel fees were one. The windows were filthy. I would not recommend staying here.

Chairs, umbrellas and towels on the pool deck are part of the resort fee. Services provided on the beach are managed by an outside company and the pool personnel instructions the patrons prior to issuing the amenities. Shower leaked all night after attemped repair. AC gave out during nite. Retrival of valet parking at 7:45 Am took 30 minutes with onlly 2 ahead of me..Staff nice.

Hotel is good staff are friendly. Hotel is old and you can feel and smell it. The pool is good not heated though. It wascold. The beach location is the best. Close to every thing you would need. The breakfirst isnot thatgreat. I would stay here again.

Took almoust 45 minutes by bus to south beach! Not European-quality hotel, poor breakfast (not a single vegetable or piece of cold cuts or cheese).
"Howling windows"
Wall to wall windows offer a great albeit smeared. IWW of the ocean but the windows leaked so bad they whistled and howled with the wind all night. Yes the wind was blowing but not like the gale force that it sounded like. Slept sporadically. Gritty floors. Red mold stains (I refuse to assume it was blood) were scattered around the bathroom walls and […] floor. As to the staff, it wasn't their job to help us (apparently). The Marco Polo can be a noisy place. the walls between the rooms will transmit sound clearly. The large pool is heated but I could not swim laps even when I was the only swimmer in the pool. The hotel help was outstanding and very resourceful as for as giving me as a springbreaker. A mother of two teenage boys we had an experience that we would never forget. Everyone was very friendly.

The front desk staff needs a major refresher course in customer service. 3 staff members were helping two people (one was probably being trained) however I had to wait 10-15 minutes just to get my key recoded. Additionally, there was a fire alarm on my floor-had to go down 11 flights of stairs only to find out that it was a drill/error. No apologies […] or explanations. "Smelly, Dirty, and GROSS Marco Polo Beach Resort"
My stay at this hotel was terrible from start to finish. When I first arrived the front desk staff did not greet at all in fact she didn't even acknowledge me until she was done doing whatever she was doing. Then when I got to my room I was disappointed that the room smelled very bad and the temperature was freezing cold and the thermometer would not […] change. After being there for a few minutes the maid showed up to clean the room and was very confused as to why I was checked in already, it was around 5:00 pm at this point. Then a couple hours later I got a phone call from the front desk saying the previous guest left something in the safe and they needed to come get it, which was fine if they would have just come up to the room and taken care of it but no they had me wait an addition 40 minutes before showing up to take care of that! The next morning I went down for the free breakfast. I have never seen anything like that before in all of my travels. The dining room was dirty, dingy, and just gross and there was no water for the guests and their version of breakfast was soggy and runny eggs and your choice of either toast or bagel with coffee. If you should stay at this hotel make sure you ask for a romm in the back of the hotel. We had a day early check in and our reserved room wasn't available. "Would Avoid if Possible"
Hotel lobby, pool area and other common areas are okay and maintained; however, the rooms are majorly outdated, not so clean and have cheap bedding. There seemed to be an overwhelming musky odor throughout the entire floor I was on and through another three floors below mine. I only know this because none of the ice machines worked and I had to go […] through four floors to finally find one that did. Most of the staff was very good, helpful and or eager too. I booked this through Hotels.com do I tjought all was paid for except at time of check out I was given a bill for an adfitional amont for amenities and daily charge but yet I had not used anything other than just my room. At that point it wasn't the money but rather the principal of the matter. So whatever I saved by using Hotels.com I ended up giving it back at checkout. Waited in line for 20 minuts to check in; Waited in line 15 minutes to check out; Paid an exorbitant fee to make two long distance phone calls; Construction going on, very messy in areas. Charged $10 per day per room at check in for an entertainment fee, it did cover a limited breakfast buffet.

I stayed there for new year vacation for 5 nights. The hotel has not been upgrade. outside has been recently painted. the windows are from 60's . The location is pretty good. the people attending tables at breakfast were not friendly .price of the rooms were OK. I really liked the big room we were in.

Your notes regarding the unfriendliness of the breakfast staff waspassed to the Food and Beverage manager who held a refresher course with theteam members. Our oceanfront resort wasbuilt in 1967 and had since undergone a major renovation. On your next visityou will be very pleased with the new carpets in the corridors and the Updatesto the Lounge in our lobby. We stayed at the resort for 1 night on the way down to Key Largo. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, gave out candy and mini muffins during Christmas break. Checked in, checked out.! Had booked a 'renovated' room. Obviously someone was having a laugh. Plaster peeling off walls together with a paint job done by cowboys. Bathroom grubby, need I say more ! Curtains and upholstery in need of a clean , topped off by an awful stale smell. We are remodeling theunits in stages and our many guest have appreciated during their visit with us. Our Director ofHousekeeping was copied on your notes regarding the cleanliness of the roomsand your mention of the odor and the upholstery. Also, the maintenance issuessuch as the peeling plaster on the walls were brought to the attention of theMaintenance Manager and immediately a work order was carried out. "great view of ocean...& that's all! :-/"
I should have read the reviews prior to booking this hotel. The room was old, flaking paint & rust in almost every corner of the room. I kept my shower shoes on in the bathroom& shower. The frig was leaking all over the tile floor & the balcony was so rusty, I was afraid to go out on it. I did, however, thoroughly enjoy the view of the ocean. Oh, and […] the staff was very courteous. That is all. This hotel surprised me with alot of "hidden" fees for parking, daily fee rate, & just extra fees (in addtn to gratuity) on room service & bar tab that are not discussed on the site. nothing I couldn't handle, just wd hv been nice to know beforehand. this place is a dive, its old, the rooms are dirty and in rough shape. basically its an old condo, so the parking is valet parking forced on you for 18 a day, you will need a car to go anywhere because there is nothing within a mile of this place
"The hotel had everything I'd hoped for!"
I was very satisfied ... all of the "amenities" I'd requested (ocean front, balcony, etc.) were honored and the room was pleasantly appointed and spacious. The only "uncomfortable" aspect of the room was the air-conditioning/humidity situation. It may be because it's an older building/HVAC system; however, we needed to keep the a/c running at all times […] to keep the humidity tolerable, and, even then it felt damp and the room too cool. It also may be because we were ocean-side, I don't know. The view/balcony was perfect, though, and we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. Sleeping was fine ..... just cozied under the covers!! Our oceanfront resort is very attractive to our repeat customers for its location, competitive pricing and host of amenities. We are happy to read that you enjoyed those offerings in addition to the well appointed features and the spaciousness of the room and the great ocean view from your balcony. i had view of the beach so that's what made it a wonderful night but bathroom needed to be restocked, shower looked nasty, and the hallways are falling apart, but the the bed was comfy and the vending machine saved my life because they didn't have anything to eat :/

You will be pleased to know that we are updating the hallways and elevators with new carpeting, crown molding and we are eagerly awaiting the completion by early spring 2012. The Director of Housekeeping was copied on your notes regarding the condition of the shower and the shortage of amenities in the bathroom and has since held a refresher with the floor attendants and supervisors. We wished you had reached out to our guest relations staff regarding our dining options. We offer a complimentary buffet breakfast every morning in the Ocean Terrace Restaurant which over looks the Ocean. The resort offers three dining to satisfy our customers' palette: the Ocean Terrace restaurant, the Poolside Cafe and the Lounge. There is also a privately owned pizza shop located on the lower lobby.

This Ramada needs to look at it's decor with an eye to upgrading the finishes and not the bottom line. The Staff deserves something better, let alone the clients. My initial room was totally unacceptable. We arrived with another party and asked to be on the same floor. We where told that could not happen because we had our 3.5 lb Yorkie with us and […] policy required us to be a in a tiled floor room and the only one available was on the second floor. Fine, but I had to come done and really complain to the Manager because it was so tacky. I felt like we the beds where inside a huge bathroom. He found another room (on the same floor as our friend.), why this wasn't offered to us initial, I don't want to speculate. It was better, not great, but at least it didn't feel like a huge bathroom with beds. Our oceanfront resort offers many room categories in a safe, family friendly atmosphere. Our resort is one of the few in the area to attract animal lovers in a pet friendly environment. Our resort has designated rooms with tiled floors for vacationers choosing to bring their pets along. We would like to apologize for your initial room not been appeasing; this was addressed in a department meting as we have many remodeled rooms for assignment. We are pleased that you found the second room comfortable. Also, you will be happy to know that we have renovated many of our rooms and we have updated the categorization of our inventory so that our guests are assigned these great rooms.
