Great place to stay and beautiful view of the golf from our room. This is the second time that we select this resort and we were veryy happy both times May 2011 and April 2012... Staff very kind and helpful

Upon entering our suite the kids all screamed in joy and were so excited about the awesome room that had a great view of the ocean. The multiple swimming pools and easy access to the beach made for a great stay. Definitely worth it!

Hotel was clean and offered reasonable facilities. However it was overpriced for the quality of the service and facilities.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sundial Resort in Sanibel, Fl. The rooms were clean and tidy and staff was very accommodating. The resort was family friendly, the kids really enjoyed the pool and the arts and crafts. We can't wait to go back!

Great Great location, family oriented, relaxing, peaceful , excellent service, very clean, odorless rooms, kayaks for everybody, umbrellas with lounge chairs at the beach, I took my cooler full of snacks and drinks to the beach, we could not ask for more....this was MY experience, good luck with yours.

Earns an average rating because it's right on the beach and that helps compensate for the fact that the housekeeping staff ignores simple requests. When no face cloths were supplied one day, we had to wait 24 hours and ask the front office staff to follow up. We love sanibel island ! Hope go back next year!

Beautiful hotel on incredible beach location. Immaculate rooms, beautiful grounds. Families with children will really enjoy all of the activities, but there is plenty of room for those without kids to get away from all of the activity. Very easy drive to anywhere and not far from the airport. Will definitely return!

Quiet place. Nice with the family.

Rental was exactly as described on internet. No complaints,very satisfied

My daughter and I were there for a December visit and the resort was wonderful - right on the beach. Unfortunately, my daughter became ill on our way there and we spent the majority of our time in the room. The resort helped me to locate a doctor on the island and the staff was very responsive and pleasant. We did not have opportunity to use the pool, […] although we did see that it was very nice, and there were bikes and other recreation options available. I hope we get to come back again one day! The only requests I would make is for a softer bed next time and a remote control/guide for the tv! Since we had to spend so much time in the room, that would have been helpful. We were very pleased with the room and service when we arrived on Saturday. It is close to the beach and even tho we were not on the beach we had a great view. The kids loved the pools and the beach. The resort was well over our expectation, rooms lay out was great amenities great, staff was excellent. SOmeone recomended the twin waters resort in captiva but after seeing it after a day in Sundial I'm glad we went with our choice.

This hotel was conveniently located on a shell ladened beach. Two pools accommodate guests with fresh water desires and one has a kids slide with a pool bar near for dad to watch the kids from. One section of beach possessed complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas for guests. The 18 hole Beachview golf course across the street is actually quite nice. […] Being a 15 handicapper, it was challenging but not too difficult. Front nine was quite a bit harder than the back nine though. It was a nice day on the course and only $40 with cart in November! Restaurants were close and the grocery was less than a 5 minute drive. Comfortable bed, clean modern shower and good size kitchen for family cooking if needed. The resort has really nice, roomy condos right on the beach. There's a tiki bar by the main pool offering drinks and food, and in the same area there are beach, bikes, etc. rentals. Tenis courts are also on the premises, and each building has its own pool. It's great for families. Sanibel is a very nice area.

The hotel was nice. The room was clean, comfortable. I would recommend to ask for a room close to the main building. That's where the lounge chairs and umbrellas are located. Room needed some minor fixes. Overall, it was a nice experience.

We had a Coastal Residence, which had a nice view of the ocean and surrounding pool/grass area. We asked to be moved from the first floor, where there would not have been an ocean view, and they put us on the third floor. The third floor unit was much nicer in terms of furnishings, etc..than the one we had seen on the first floor. So, I had read that […] you should ask for a "updated" unit, and I would stress to do that as well, after having seen the difference in the two units. The staff were friendly for the most part. The island is great for bicyling, and we were able to rent out bikes (as a part of the $18 recreation fee) each day. The recreation fee was worth it. Food at the hotel was average and expensive, not really recommended. Breakfast was the best meal to be had, at $6/breakfast for the 2 egg breakfast, it was a decent breakfast and value for money. The hotel is on park-like settings with convenient access to beach and resort ammenities. The rooms provide plenty of living space and are very comfortable. Will be back again.

we arrived at 12 am were told checking will be at 4 but room was being cleaned and will call us within an hour. Every hour we kept asking and being told its being cleaned. at 4:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! past the regular time!!!!!!!!!! we still had to wait for room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if we had we been told we can have it at 4 we will have made other plans instead […] of waiting near by to be called. The place was great overall. The bathroom next to the pool was broken for the entire 5 days we were there, only one stall working. Not good! And, the mosquitos were crazy! Otherwise ... GREAT!

Great vacation, the kids had a great time and with the kids special they have i had a great time. Free breakfast,lunch and dinner for the kids. Free bikes, free kayaks, that's a real savings. everything was really nice just stay close to the main pool that's where they have everything. We will go back.

No ice or vending machines. Hotel said because it was "condo" style that they don't need it. Had to walk to registration area to get a bag of ice. Do that after you check in and it's 98 degrees and you want a cold drink now! Elevator was filthy. 1BR unit we stayed in was nice, but could use new mattresses. Beautiful shell beach, nice pools and access to Sanibel bicycle path.

The hotel is superbly located with direct beach access and only minutes away from Periwinkle Way, Sanibel's main strip featuring restaurants, stores and the JN Ding Darling Wildlife refuge. The room was very spacious and tidy; the kitchenette had all the features you could ask for. There's complementary wi-fi internet access which is a plus also. The employees were in nice uniforms and pleasent. After looking at other reviews, we brought our own coffee. The staff left us extra coffee each day, so that would not have been an issue. Bikes were in great shape. I would highly reccommend this place to future guests. We looked at alot of reviews. I wanted to share the beauty of Sanibel with my friend, as I used to go there as a kid. Had never been to Sundial before and was most impressed. The staff was super friendly and helpful with questions about towels and bikes, etc. The room was so comfortable, great bed and kitchen. From the screened patio we had a partial view of the ocean. Only thing […] we noticed was the shower needed some updating, but the rest was near perfect. Had dinner in the restaurant---salmon and grouper---wonderful food with views of the Gulf and pool below. We had a great stay at Sundial. We went during the low season, and I believe our experience was better because of that. We had a 2-bedroom condo that was very comfortable with plenty of room. During our stay, the place was quiet but sound carries easily through the balcony. Although noise through the walls and floor was very limited, noise through the […] balcony would make me question a stay during Spring Break or high season. The housekeeping service was adequate, but a couple of things bugged us. They ran the dishwasher when it was 1/4 full when we left our cereal bowls in the sink sitting in soapy water. And everyday we got a "surprise" by finding out what towels were replaced. We always had enough bath towels, but some days we wouldn't get hand towels or wash clothes. Two out of 7 days we got fresh kitchen hand towels. As for the maintenance/repair staff, they were very prompt when we called about a malfunctioning t.v. Overall we had a really great stay without any significant issues. A couple of things to pass along...You should consider wearing beach shoes in the water. My husband was cut by a large shell and required stitches. He was the second person that day. Supposedly it is a very common problem. Also, the website states that their store in the lobby has grocery items. Not sure what they consider a grocery item, but they had refrigerated drinks (sodas, water, etc..), laundry detergent and a few other things. I was hoping to pick up some basics - milk, bread, eggs. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay very much The hotel is centrally located with easy foot and bicycle access to downtown. The hotel itself is pristine, the grounds are well kept and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys the ocean, shelling, good food and plenty of sun.

Beautiful resort on the Gulf, early check in no problem, very nice rooms, excellent staff. If you are staying for a few days you might want to stop at a Publix Supermarket before you get on the island to stock up the fridge, stores on the island are very expensive.

The beach is great, but the room is dirty, the light bulbs in the bathroom were not working, there was hair in the bed. Definitely I would recommend other hotel in the island...

This location was superb for our quick vacation to Sanibel Island. We truly enjoyed the simplicity and overall organization of the resort layout and operations.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Sundial Resort in Sanibel Island. We rented bikes one day and had a great time exploring the island. The hotel made it very convenient to rent and go. The pool side is a great place to relax as well as the beach under one of the umbrellas. However, there were quite a few stingrays in the water. The rooms were […] clean but I wasn't expecting the location of our room. There are several condo units on the property instead of one main hotel. So we had to do a lot of walking around to get from the front desk to the beach. I was also hoping for a view of the water, but we were placed in one the buildings looking out onto the parking lot. Shower was a total dump - ruined the trip

The beach is beautiful but there were stingrays at the time we went. They don't give towels for the beach (only for simming pool and only at the main pool). You have to pay extra to have a chair on the beach or a sun umbrella. Considering the price of the room, not acceptable. Also we were disappointed by the breakfast that was not starting before 8am […] (and sometimes staff was not even ready, only half of the food was there), so not great with kids who get up early. Friendly & Accomodating Staff. Wonderful stay. Would go back again and would recommend it to anyone. Beautiful beach for shelling and can choose between the beach or many pools for relaxing.
