We only stayed a weekend, but the room was great, the view spectacular. Close to BU which was our destination. The conciege and front desk were extremely helpful all weekend. We were incredibly impressed with the service, the smiles, the shuttle service, the room, everything -- even being received with a nice hot chocolate chip cookie which my daughters loved!!! Will definitely stay there again.

Good value for those who need a two room suite location is remote

Boston is an awesome city!!! The Doubletree Suites is a great hotel for a reasonable cost. It is a clean and well maintained property and the staff is friendly and helpful. Our suite (and it really was a suite) on the tenth floor was outstanding, with a beautiful view of the Charles River. The only shortcoming I found with the hotel is the location. […] Unfortunately there is nothing much to do within a reasonable walking distance from the hotel, and it is not near a "T" station. On the other hand, you can get pretty much anywhere in the Boston area for a $15.00 cab fare. The airport is about $35.00 (including tolls). You can rent a car if you want to make yourself crazy trying to navigate the streets and find parking. I gave up on that about half way through my second trip to Boston. The hotel does offer a convenient (free) shuttle service to Harvard Square, Copley Place, Boston Common, and the NE Aquarium. From there you can take the T anywhere you need to go. This last trip my wife and I rented Hubway bikes and it was fun to ride along the Charles river. Overall, the Doubletree Suites is a great place to stay in Boston. Typical Doubletreee standard. Wholefoods is a close walk (500m) but nothing else super close by.

A comfortable and roomy suite. My teenage daughter and I were quite satisfied. Cambridge is right across the river with a grocery store not far at all. Colleges and Fenway also close. River walk is great

I stayed a week with my 13-year-old daughter and my 3-year-old granddaughter coming to visit daily. The hotel staff could not have been nicer, everyone from the front desk staff giving her a bandaid when she had an imaginary "owie" to extra cherries in her Shirley Temple to the housekeeping staff coming late every day because we SO do not get up early. The room service and restaurants aren't particularly cheap, either, but we knew all of that when we made the reservation, so it was no surprise. This is the 3rd time my family has stayed in this hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. From the front desk staff to the concierge they were always nice and available to us. The indoor pool is great, but slighlty cold! The breakfast buffet is a good deal and the food is excellent. The hotel room was clean and very comfortable. The view was terrific - overlooking the Charles River. Convenience cannot be overstated - cabs there to easily catch, and a shuttle as well. I would stay there again without doubt. And while others spoke about paying for parking, I didn't mind - it was safe and convenient, and I appreciated that.

Good hotel in a convenient location. Concierge was a big help when my rental car would not start. $35 is way too much for parking. Buffet breakfast was adequate but also expensive.

An old hotel that had been revamped. It looks good. But still old loud heating system and thin walls

Very nice hotel; room a bit small, but probably what you'd expect in the City. A bit appalled by the exorbitant parking fee, which somewhat undermined the great deal through hotels.com. Clean, upscale facility. Our room overlooked the river, but not charmingly.

This is a standard DoubleTree with their typical two-room suites. It is well maintained and the staff is very pleasant. It is located at an easy-off/easy-on exit of the Mass Pike (I-90) near Boston University and across the river from Harvard and MIT. Overall, my one-night stay was pleasant. Check-in was smooth and friendly, the room was absolutely enormous (probably 700 square feet) and nicely appointed---except for the bathroom. I'm relatively certain the shower/bathtub area hadn't been updated since the Ford administration---broken tiles, chipping grout, cracked plastic around the shower curtain, […] old fixtures (with bad water pressure). For a hotel owned by Harvard and its $40bn endowment, the condition of the bathroom was an embarrassment. the pool maintenance was not up to snuff so the pool was closed. No discount was offered...

We had to spend a night out because of power failure it was like coming home

This is the only complaint I have. The parking fee is TOTALLLY outrageous!!! For this is the reason why I will never stay at this hotel ever again. A customer at this quality hotel shouldn't have to pay for parking. $30 a day?! Outrageous!!!

We booked this hotel because hotels.com gave us a low rate, and therefore we weren't expecting much. But our suite was excellent, with beautiful views over the River Charles (yes, you need to ignore the railroad tracks on one side). The staff was friendly and helpful. The cookies at check-in and check-out were nice. Pros: The shuttle service was great & offered options to popular areas. Warm cookies upon arrival :) Cons: The parking- the only option is the hotel parking and the $35/day parking rate is a bit high, I think.

Although we had to wait in line at check in, everything else was just perfect. The staff was sincerely polite and helpful, from the front desk to the housekeeping, always acknowledging the guest. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to Harvard Square. Some rooms have a view of the Charles River, others a view of Boston. We love staying at the Doubletree Suites on the Charles River in Boston. We had a corner suite which was very spacious and comfortable.

My family and I stayed here for two nights and had an enjoyable stay overall. The front desk staff were friendly and the cookies were great. We had a king suite which was comfortable and spacious. I liked that the sofa bed was more of a foam mattress instead of those cheap, thin, box spring ones. We also had a great view of the Charles River. There […] were a few downsides to the hotel though. It is in an odd location which isn't much of a problem if you have a car, but the parking garage is tight and I think the $35/day parking rate is a bit much but that is about the average of what you'll find in Boston. Took this hotel because it was the best hotel at the best price at the time. Out of the way for a business trip and $20 taxi from downtown Boston. More convenient to Cambridge. Hotel is nothing special, but well located for Harvard University/Cambridge area. I had reserved at room with a king size bed for two nights, but when I arrived there were only rooms with twin beds alone. Since I was alone, it wasn't that big of a deal but the desk clerk gave me coupons for two free breakfast buffets. A very nice apology gift.

The hotel is obviously new and has great accomidations. Although it is about a 15 minute walk to the T, the shuttle service is convenient and timely. It was more than enough for a family with 3 children.
