the room was ready upon arrival and that is when I learned that the hotel swimming pool was being renovated. It would have been nice to know prior to coming, rather than being told to come back next week. the hotel staff was very nice, but the room was moderately neat, not sure when the last real cleaning took place (let alone the last vacuuming). There […] are new carpets being laid throughout the hotel, but not sure when they will be done. Construction noise started at a reasonable time, but thankfully we did not stay there during the day. I only stayed here one night, but the sheets were super cheap, over all though it was a great stay.

This is an okay place to stay. We got a good deal on the price from hotels.com. The food at the restaurant was okay, not very tasty and some of the ingredients (such as tomato and lettuce in the burgers) were not fresh. However, everyone we interfaced with was really nice. The hotel was undergoing some upgrades (paint and construction) that I think […] will help the appearance (looks a little old). The carpeting in the hall way and rooms is also old, and probably needs to be replaced. Our shower curtain was moldy and they were quick to get rid of it once I brought it to their attention. Good place to stay for university events

Maybe they put people from Hotel.com in the back of the property but the area I've been in twice is old and needs remodeling. The carpet was old and the hallways were outdated. The room was okay. It was a long walk to the lobby so I guessed tha they put non-regular-paying guests in the back.

Everything was great except for one thing. The restaurant was supposed to serve breakfast until 10:30am. We arrived at 10:15am and were told they were only serving lunch. Unfortunately, there are no breakfast restaurants close to the hotel so we had to drive a distance to find one.

Contracting for a company in the area and got a good deal on this hotel. I've been here for about 3 weeks and it is definitely a steal. There is a nice restaurant in the building that serves great pizza and chicken-salad-sandwiches. There is a heated indoor pool w/ a workout area (just cardio stuff). Only complaint is that the bathrooms are very small […] (the door swings in toward the bathroom and hits the curved shower curtain). I thought our stay was wonderful. It was clean and all the personnel where polite and helpful. It was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a hotel. The waitress in the restaurant was very good at her job and knew what she was doing. Nicely Done Ramada Plaza

The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were in need of updating badly. Carpets were stained and the decor has long been outdated. It is unfortunate because the staff is very good but I would stay elswhere next time I am in town.

Husband and I stayed here for a U of M parents' weekend. Hotel was very comfortable and was about 3-4 miles away from university campus. Room rate was not cheap, but necessary in order to attend festivities. Hotel restaurant was just OK, service very slow. Beds were very comfortable. Overall experience was very good. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, everyone was very friendly and helpful!! The reason, we went to Minneapolis was the State Fair, and this hotel was there for us!!! We didn't have the hassle of looking for a parking space at the fair, because we got shuttled to and from!!! They gave us there ALL, and we appreciated that very much!!! The staff, particularly the shuttle drivers and the front desk and housekeeping, was outstanding. Couldn't ask for better. Only one thing wasn't good. I couldn't get online with my laptop. The desk switched me to tech support, but that didn't work either. The hotel was in good shape, but the neighborhood is definately industrial (UPS, FedEx, truck sales). The only restaurant nearby was Wendys. We ate at the hotel restaurant. It was 2 to 3 stars at best. We were there during MN fair. Lots of kids and families. The hot tub did not work. My wife was looming forward to some pool time on Monday, but it was […] closed. We stayed at this hotel for one evening on our way to Chicago and attended the Twins Game. Picked it for the location to Target Field, free shuttle to the game and price (discounted special). Good clean quiet hotel, service was good, staff helpful and convenient for two of us. Easy access to the interstate for a quick start the next morning. Free shuttle […] to and from the game saved time, stress and $$ getting to and from the game. Nice hotel, poor gym area, poor location. We had a terrible time with the shuttle service that was promised to us. We ended up spending money on cabs everyday to get into the downtown area. Poor transportation system. Staff were very friendly.

The shuttle service did not fit the scheduling of the event. This made it very costly 18.00-25.00 for cab fares I selected the hotel for the shuttle service alone, based on this I will not select select ramada again!!!

It was a nice hotel with a few things that could be maintained a little better. Just small things like the moldy astro turf in the pool area, the jets in the hot tub that aren't working. The best thing I can say for this hotel is that it was close to where I was working. Carpeting was old and badly stained in several areas. Their "fitness center" was just a couple of aerobic machines. The room itself was clean but not any better than hundreds of other hotels. The morning buffet was good but $10. There was no shampoo in my room. I called […] the front office and they said they would have someone deliver some - never came. Even after they cleaned the room there was no shampoo. This hotel had friendly and helpful staff, the rooms were small but clean, and maintenance had to fix the toilet (but there were no problems after that). The on-site restaurant's food was very good!

The Ramada Plaza was obviously an old time hotel that is quite charming and it has some very nice amenities, including a very good restaurant. Their were only two minor disappointments: no free continental breakfast and no available self-service laundry room; otherwise a terrific hotel at a very reasonable rate.

We were attending our niece's graduation from Hamline University and needed a convenient place for all the relatives to stay. We selected this hotel because of the convenient location and reasonable rates. The facilities were clean and the hotel restaurant was good. We were traveling with our infant son, and so they brought up a refrigerator and microwave to our room so we could keep his formula. My needs were very basic and therefore I expend a short amount of time in the hotel. Everything work well and general accomodations were good. At times is a little noisy on the halls and for some reason many guest feel free to talk outside their rooms.

Hotel is older and could use some updates but the access to the highway made it so easy to get around the city. Not located where you can walk to good restaurants or downtown. Personnel was super friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable.

I stayed at this hotel to attend a meeting in downtown Minneapolis. Downtown was easily accessible from side streets, avoiding rush hour freeway traffic. The room was clean and inviting and the hotel staff-person at the desk was friendly and helpful. Good value for price. Only problem I had was the coffee maker was not replaced or repaired after I complained the first night. Overall, a nice place to stay and I would return again.

This is the most convenient feature. Very good for families visiting students. Cheap and good.

I had reserved a king suite room so I would have a couch in the room. I had elderly people visiting me so I also made a selection under special needs for a handicap accessible bathroom. The first room they sent me too did not have a couch - when I went down to tell them, they told me they didn't have any king suites with the bathroom I needed left. They […] did change the room reservation back to a suite W/ sofa. What impressed me is not only the friendliness of the staff but the efficiency. This whole process of changing rooms and key took about 2 minutes. Many hotels it takes a long time to check in people or make a change - that was not the case here. Overall we had great rooms, they were located across the hall from each other and were at the end of the hall so we could be back and forth not bothering others. We were disappointed that the Lounge closed at 10:30 on a Sat eve so if you are planning to go to the lounge check what time they are closing.

Nice hotel. no fancy frills. Bathroom is small, no great views. Enjoyed the restaurant a few times. Pool was nice.

The hotel staff were amazing. The only negative I could give would be that the shuttle does not run on Sundays and we were not informed about it. However, the staff was very helpful in getting cabs and giving directions. The Ramada has hired some great people

This hotel was amazing especially considering the price we paid. I was very impressed with the customer service, the hotel representatives were more than willing to answer questions and give directions to where we needed to go. My friend that stayed with me in the hotel forgot her jacket there and when she called the hotel they were more than willing […] to help her get her jacket back to South Dakota for us. We stayed 2 nights, the 2nd one unexpectedly so we had 2 different rooms. Our room the first night was a 2-room suite. It was accross the hall from the vending machine which was extremely loud. It was also next to the elevator which made a whooshing noise as it passed our room (several times in the middle of the night). The 2nd night, we got a King […] 1-room suite. Since it was down the hall, I was excited that maybe we would get a better (quiet) night's sleep. But the bathroom had a fan going that we had no capacity to shut off. We discovered the next morning that ALL rooms have these fans going all the time. Also, the lounge closed very early on both Saturday and Sunday night. This is the second time I have stayed here within a year. It is a clean hotel with a friendly staff.

Rooms were newly outfitted and tidy. We picked this hotel because received an excellent room rate through Hotels.com, much less than comparable hotels in the area through the site. Elevator is lightning quick. Parking is plentiful, easy, and FREE. Only downsides were the room smelled like it used to be a smoking room, so it had that stale ash smell, […] and the hotel isn't immediately by anything except a gas station, so you will drive a few miles in any direction to get to anything of note.
