Great stay! Good location and great rates! Def a good place to stay on a budget

Actually turned out to be a great stay. Located in the vicinty of stores,restraunts and center of town. Room ammenties were comparable to more expensive hotels. Microwave and refrigerator were a welcomed addition. Free Wi-Fi worked great. A great deal for the cost.

Excellent place to stay in the area. Has everything you need in the room. Dogs have a nice place to be walked complete with poop bags. A Denny's next door.

I had booked several rooms for our construction crew that was doing work in the surrounding area. The location was perfect for us, unfortunately the state of the rooms were so bad that we have to leave the hotel and stay elsewhere.

the front desk was awesome. They provide you with free coffee :)

prices are good for what you get. because it was a holiday, people next door was having a party, and I did'nt get enough sleep. but otherwise the acomadations were good, and I will stay again.

This Hotel needs to update their pictures on how big their rooms are really. Hotel was very small in size and not what I saw when booking this hotel.

I will be the first to say.... I appreciate the warm welcomes from Jamie and Wendy. They were friendly and helpful when asked questions about the town. I had family and business to attend to and this place was central for all of my activities. I really like have dennys restaurant right there to be able to eat decent food at any time of the day or night. Easy acces to PCH, 101 fwy, beaches, Ventura and 30 mins to Santa Barbara. Generally hotel was clean, quiet, easy to excess. Price was good, all room equipment was good condition & working good.

Great service & they updated me to a King size bed. This is the 3Rd time I have stayed there. For the price & Convenience, I'm always happy to stay at the Vagabong Inn. Frig. Coffee maker Mico work Great & the Internet work very well to. Trains go by every now & then, but overall I will stay there again. Suitable hotel for a few nights.

This hotel is extremely old and dirty inside and out. The carpet was so dirty we wore our shoes the entire time. The chairs were VERY old and stained. You could tell the original color was dark pink, but the stains made it look black & brown. When we asked them to change them, the ones they brought looked the same. CONDITION OF ROOM WAS IN DISREPAIR. HAIRDRYER WAS BROKEN, VANITY MIRROR HAS 6 BLACK TARNISH MARK ON IT, CARPETING WAS OLD AND APPEARS WORN AND DIRTY. BEDS WERE UNCOMFORTABLE AND HARD ON THE BACK.

Wall construction allowed normal conversation to be heard from adjoining room.

Staff was friendly and overall everything was very clean. The carpet in my room could have been cleaner. Overall happy with stay.

I stayed at the Oxnard Vagabond Inn because it was fairly close to the train station and the right price. The room was very clean, the bed and shower fine. My only concern was the bathroom window screen was damaged and the type of glass window they had looked very insecure, like someone could open it from the outside, take out the screen and come in. […] As a woman alone, that made me nervous. Also, the continental breakfast was (for me) mainly the fresh fruits, as the pastries were very poor quality. But there's a Dennys on premises, so I wasn't relying on the hotel for breakfast. Overall its was a nice say. The receptionists were very friendly. Our room was nice and clean. The coffeemaker was an added bonus. I made coffee every morning. My 2 complaints were the discolored orange-brown sheet covers and also the pool is much smaller then the picture on the website.

The Hotel is clean, nice, quiet with big parking. The personal is kind and helpfull. Improovements are needed in breakfast qantity and quality (i've been in some other hotels this level and they have a plausible breakfast)

Carpets in our room were filthy, there were not enough towels. When room service made up the room no toilet paper was left. I requested to be moved to another room but was not accommodated. The outside of the room (surrounding area ) was filthy and smelly. The pool was clean but also there the area was dirty. I was glad to have some place to stay after working at the Channel Isalands Harbor Tallship Challenge Festival. It was along weekend of caming on crutches and I was bone tired. Everything was fine except for the bathtub renovated coating was significantly chipped, and the trash truck at 6:00 am on a Saturday morning was a little issue, but the Hotel has no say in the timing of when the trash trucks arrive. Overall it was a good stay for the price, and I would stay there again.

You get what you pay for

Room was very nice & clean. I love all the things that come with my stay, Frig. Microwave, Iron, Hair Dryer & Coffee Pot :-) Internet work pretty good to! Only down fall was there are Railroad tracks not to far from the Vagabond inn, You can hear the Trains now & then. But for the Money & all it's worth I was very Happy with my Stay.

This is an older hotel with well kept rooms and freindly staff. The 2 complaints is that they advertised high speed internet and a continental breakfast. There was no more than 2 bars of signal anywhere in the entire facility. I asked the front desk about this problem and they suggested I go to the adjacent Denny's and get their internet pass key (requires […] ordering something). Nice that they allow dogs and price was okay but. It is kind of dumpy and the bed was awful.

The room had a stail odor like mole was in the carpet. on my second day i woke up and went into the bathroom to shower as i looked up at the window i saw something growing out of the wall by the window, after showering i went to the office and infomed them they sent a maid offer right away she removed it with a napkin. The bed was way too soft. Both of us woke up with a sore back. Also..what is with only giving three pillows on the bed? Always annoying especially when there are no others in the room. There was plenty of hot water at night but the next morning the water in the shower never got above warm. This place is a great bargain, it's centrally located and reasonably priced. There are many great restuarants nearby and there are three beaches within 10 minutes of the hotel. Santa Barbara is only 45 minutes up the 101 freeway which is nearby.

The room was rather small, but as I was alone it wasn't an issue. The bathroom is huge but not heated/cooled. The air/heat unit in the room is fickle at first but once it got settled it was very comfortable. I kept the door to the bathroom open so it wouldn't be so cold in there. There are three restuarants within walking distance and shopping within a mile. The bed was comfortable and clean. I will stay there again if I need to return to Oxnard. While the folks at the Vagabond inn were nice and their rooms are ok. the price was high for the place, the clientele were notthe kind of folks you want to live wiht. The place is frequented by the construction trade. these guys hung out and drank til the wee hours (ther were 2 fights on 2 seperate nights when I was there). Stuff was really nice, even at check-in ( Kenia ) Was right there to help me. She even let me check in a little early. My room was very nice & clean. I was very happy with my Stay there. Internet was working Great to. All in all I was Happy for the Price & Location :-)

The Pros: Our room was neat and tidy; there is a Denny's connected to the hotel; ample parking right by the room; friendly front desk staff; they provided a free parking pass for the Cowboy's training camp, which is what brought us to Oxnard. There were teenage boys who jumped the fence and dove in wearing their street clothes. There were several women with a baby who wasn't wearing a swim diaper (gross!) , who had to ask me to borrow my room key in order to exit the pool area. Hotel was ok. Just stayed there one night so I didn't need much. My room smelt like cigarettes even though I wanted a non-smoking room. However, if all you want is a cheap hotel, this one will do.

The only problem i had was when I requested for more towels they would not have them delivered to my room I had to go to the front desk to get them. This was not what I am used to.

The word here is value. For about the same price of the no frills Motel 6 in Ventura or Camarillo, you get a comfortable, clean room with dual queen beds and a microwave and a refrigerator. The hotel was very satisfying and the location was great and easy to for us traveling to Oxnard. I enjoyed staying there and will do so again when i go to Oxnard.
