Sofitel Tahiti Resort - Faaa

We stayed for one night awaiting an early morning flight out of the international airport. The first room we were assigned had an ant infestation. They reassigned us a room with no problem, but the rooms are just old and gross. Dirty bed spread cover and decorative pillows. Peeling and cracked paint on the walls. It just felt icky to be there. Messed up our reservation and room was horrible had cockroaches in bathroom and super hard bed. Everything was overpriced beyond tourist trap!!

the hotel room was quite plain and small. It was a mountain view. The pool area was nice. Handicap access to the restaurant is impossible in the rain. Walkway is not covered and the route from the lobby has many stairs. Lunch was really wonderful and not as expensive as we anticipated.

It was a great hotel very nice area and the pool was superb. However the bed was very uncomfortable with the 2 twin beds pushed together and no pad to eliminate the seperation in the middle of the bed. As far as the bed, I would give it a #1 rating. Very uncomfortable. The rest was very nice. And the service and desk clerks were e xceptional.

We just stayed here on our layover to Bora Bora but the room was nice and clean. My only complaints are there was no alarm clock in the room and we called for a wakeup call and no one ever called. Luckily I couldn't sleep because of the time change or we would have missed our flight to Bora Bora.

I arrived here close to midnight and the front desk staff greeted me with a welcome lemonade, which was amazing after lugging my bag to/from the airport while still adjusting to the warm temp and humidity. The rooms are well appointed and very clean, the restaurant had a nice breakfast buffet ($$, but everything is in FP). This hotel is not exactly […] a resort like some of the bigger hotels on the other islands, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a nice place to stay near the Tahiti airport. My friends who statyed at the airport motel were not pleased to find out I had booked such a nice room at about the same rate. This is an excellent hotel. The meals are pricy but there are many places to eat nearby. My only complaint is the $5.00 charge for a half hour of internet. I am used to 24 hour a day internet so that equates to: 5.00 per half hour or $10.00 per hour or $120.00 per day or $840.00 per week or $3600.00 per month. Most places include it. Seems to me they […] could make it available free or nluded in the lobby. I got locked onto my balcony twice and both times the hotel staff rescuded mewithin 10 minutes. The hotel staff is very nice, but they cannot make up for the smallness of the rooms. Perhaps if they were appointed better, that would have helped. It felt like we were sleeping on a box spring, with an old dirty quilt and even older sheets. On the plus side, there was good water pressure in the shower.

This hotel is close to the airport in Faaa. that is the only good thing about it. The one working elevator stopped about three inches below where it should have, making it an excellent opportunity to trip after your long flight to Tahiti. The beds were rock hard. Moldy bathrooms. We should have paid the extra money for the Intercontinental.

The place is ok if you have to stay overnight in order to go to another island. The prices for food are rediculous. Unfortunately that is true for anywhere in French Polynesia. The food at the hotel is ok though. The hotel is ok. I personally visited Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. Tahiti is not worth the visit and it is better to stay more time on the […] other islands. Arriving from Bora Bora, we had a plane to catch at 5 a.m. and everything has been done so that our short stay (from 11a.m till 4 a.m next day) was as restfull as possible : lunch in open air restaurant, sandy beach, swimming pool and dinner served in bedroom for a quick sleep ! Thanks.

This was the first place we stayed during our trip to French Polynesia. We enjoyed our time here quite a bit, even though we had an unfortunate experience. We left some articles of clothing at the pool and went back to our room for what was supposed to be a brief food break. Unfortunately, due to exhaustion from that morning's flight, we ended up falling […] asleep. When we went back to the pool later that evening our things were gone. After investigating the situation, the staff told us the next day that our things were most likely taken by locals who came to the hotel to use the swimming pool. We clearly should not have left our things unattended for so long, but at the same time, we were disappointed that theft would occur on hotel property. Fortunately, the manager was very apologetic and made up for the loss of our property in a way that fully satisfied us. Chose hotel because its 10 mins. from airport. However, only needed a dayroom as flying out the same day and wasn't able to get one. Had to pay the full rate! Swimming pool tiles missing and needs repair. Sat on the beach and had to move because of the local kids screaming and running around my husband and my lawn chairs. We just needed one night in Tahiti. I simply picked a low rate room (it was cheaper than the airport hotel). To my surprise the room was excellent with a beautiful view of the water, pool area, etc. It appears that there would be nice views from every room. Staff very helpful. they have a "transition shower room" when you arrive much earlier than check-in […] and got our room ready much more quickly than expected. Would recommend for short stay. Hotel is OK. Food is extremely expensive. Expect to pay over $50.00 per person for breakfast. Lunch hamburger $35.00. Dinner out of sight. OK to stay there but, eat elsewhere.........

The man who checked us in was excellant. We arrived late at night from a flight, but a day earlier than booked ! He was considerate and helpful. Other staff lacked knowledge which one would expect. helpful but lacked knowledge.

This is a very good hotel. However, expect that that it will also be expensive since everything in Tahiti is expensive. It is very far away from downtown and every move you make will be an equivalent of 20-30 dollars cab fare each way. We were just staying for last night en route from Bora Bora, so fortunately proximity to the airport and value was the reason we chose this hotel for an early morning departure. A King bed was actually 2 twins pushed together, with uncomfortable mattresses and pillows. The hotel was full of crowds and activities, the pool swarming with children, which is fine but be forewarned it's definitely not a romantic destination. Cocktails and the 3 tartine plate at the poolside bar were good. The bad: service, food, bedding. 1. Check in took an inordinately long time for inexplicable reasons. (Bellhop was friendly and helpful though) 2. Safe in room was locked in open position when we arrived, we called the front desk to have it fixed so we could head off to the market before it closed on our last afternoon -the reason we had returned early in the day from Bora Bora. We told them we had a shuttle in about an hour (time we planned to be at the bar by the pool enjoying the scenery) and needed someone sent quickly. Called again when no one arrived after 20 minutes, and were assured they were on their way. Waited in our room until time for shuttle (not exactly how we wanted to spend our remaining vacation time), with no one appearing. Had to carry laptop etc to the market. After returning and finally getting a drink and a snack at the bar, we called again, someone arrived ~30 minutes later. He locked it shut, but could not reopen it for our use. He called for another maintenance person to repair it, who never arrived. Had to take our valuables again to dinner. 3. Sakura Restaurant ambiance & service was abysmal. Went there thinking it would be better than the crowds at the main restaurant, but probably a bad decision. Felt like a basement, and smelled horrible from the grease of the grills. Nice pool, ok rooms. Fairly pricey for what you get. The breakfast buffet was the most expensive breakfast I have ever had (very good, but very pricey). Decent hotel overall, but expensive for what you get.

Great location and pretty inexpensive if you're looking for a cheap overnight prior to departing FAAA on a early flight. The hotel room wasn't cool and the halls smelled of "must". Decent property for the money, but would only recommend for one night.

Great Hotel & Location to Airport!

We had 3 days on Tahiti before travelling to Moorea. We chose to stay at the Sofitel because it was close to the airport, and we were due to arrive around midnight. It took less than 5 minutes to get to the hotel in a cab, and we were quite impressed by the hotel on arrival. The check in staff spoke good English. The room was clean and comfortable, […] with the usual expected facilities. The swimming pool was very good, and heated correctly for the external temperature. We had good views of Moorea from the pool area and the hotel had its own beach, which wasn't very good to be honest, it was much better to lay by the pool. Poolside service is excellent, and most of the staff were very friendly. Location of the hotel is a positive, just a 5 minute walk to a shopping centre, where you could buy breakfast/lunch etc, which can save you a fortune as opposed to paying the hotels inflated prices. The hotel also puts on a shuttle bus to Papeete for a reasonable price, and its only a 5 minute drive. The only negative point I would mention, other than restaurant prices, is that they didn't want to give out travel adaptors, but would rather you bought one at their gift shop. Very well located near the airport and not far from a supermarket (closed on sundays). You should pay a little more for a room on the ocean side because the other side is near a very busy and noisy highway. There are 2 restaurants very expansive (especially for the breakfast ) and there is no other restaurant near the hotel so take a walk and go to […] the supermarket... i paid for room with a double bed... i went out for dinner and drinks came back late to hotel with my boyfriend to find they had just pushed 2 single beds together and put a sheet on it ...so we got ripped off and at 1130pm who feels like re packing all your things and moving rooms.... very terrible

Wir würden es jederzeit wieder buchen.

Alt i alt ett helt greit hotell bare 5min fra flyplassen. Betjeningen var hyggelige og behjelpelig. Eneste som trekker ned er rommet. Var ett helt greit rom, men hadde en merkelig lukt.

Tres bien itue ,si vous avez une voiture.sortie de la ville,5 mn sur une voie rapide et vous etes au bord de la mer et au calme.

飛行場からタクシーで１０分程度。バス停がホテルの目の前にあり（ちょっとわかりにくいですが）、パペーテ市内に出るのは簡単でした。カルフールも徒歩５分と近く、ロケーションはいいです。 ホテルはクーラーが効いてなくて、部屋以外、常に暑かったです。蚊が多く、ロビーでも虫よけスプレーは必須。スタッフは皆さん親切です。でも日本語はまったく通じませんでした。お客さんは白人が多く、日本人は私たちだけのようでした。 アクティビティーデスクの営業時間が短く、午前しかやっていないのが残念でした。 部屋はスーペリアを利用。清潔でした。 ホテルの庭にプール、その奥はビーチで、泳ぐには最適です。バーで生演奏が聞けてよかったです。 中に入っている鉄板焼きレストランはけっこう人気みたいで、すぐには入れませんでした […] 。お客さんを入れる時間が決まっているので、事前に調べておいたほうがいいです。 อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Kjempegreit hotel nært flyplassen. Fikk derimot matforgiftning første kvelden og to dager av min ferie ble ødelagt! IKKE spis fiskeburger på sofitel!!!var så vidt jeg kom meg videre til Bora Bora som var hovedmålet for turen vår. Aldri vært så dårlig før i hele mitt liv!! Nous regrettons le service minimum offert par le SOFITEL qui ne correspond pas du tout à un 4 étoiles et qui est malgré tout facturé comme tel.

Bien placé pour une nuit de transit. Effectivement l'arrivée à pieds depuis l'aéroport (trop près pour les taxis) est épuisante et surprenante, avec les bagages. Vue magnifique. Chambre bien. Petit déjeuné minimaliste. A recommander.

Bon hôtel de tourisme où il fait bon séjourner quelques jours pour découvrir Tahiti. Restaurant correct. A ne pas recommander pour un long séjour. Plage médiocre mais très belle piscine. Personnel agréable.

Le but était de passer une nuit entre 2 avions, parfait!
