The Hills Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel - ลากูราฮิลส์

The hotel was handy for getting to the I-5 freeway, but there was no freeway noise. Lobby was lovely. The route to Laguna Beach, where we were attending a wedding, was a little more circuitous and took longer than we had expected but we made it on time. Very nice accommodations for a very reasonable price.

Reception let it be known that the key would open a side door about 10 feet from my room with direct access to parking lot, so I need not traipse my luggage through the main entrance way. Food was good. Nice area. Close to my destination. Easy access to Highway 5.

My son recommended this hotel for our recent visit because he lives close by. I was worried about the comfort and quiet of this hotel mainly because it was inexpensive. I was pleasantly surprised that in every way this hotel exceeded my expectations. Would definetly stay there again.

My first stay at Laguna included a night at The Hills. As you can tell by pictures of the hotel, it is luxurious with with a nice buffet and great service. I have been very critical of this stay for simple reasons. The hotel has good potential, however, my room was poorly maintained. The bathroom vanity was in the middle of a bad paint job and was dirty in appearance. The wall in the bathroom, above the light switch had a blood stain (about 9mm in size) during the entire stay. There on arrival. The bathroom […] ceiling was stained with orange spots and not cleaned for our entire stay as well. Security was lax. The rear exit door was propped open regularly and a large party was allowed to occur upstairs on Friday night. Our room was nicely appointed. The bathroom was in need of remodeling as it looked quite old and tired. The rest of the hotel and staff were top notch. I would stay there again.

What a warm and friendly place... best nights sleep I have had in ages. Beds are so comfortable. Had a lovely room with a view of the swimming pool; dinner in the lounge was wonderful and the saxaphone player was quite enjoyable; we attended the comedy act "Totally Laughable" upstairs which was outragously funny. Only downside I see is we had no-where […] to store our leftovers from dinner as there is not a refridgerator in the room. Value for area was Outstanding. Very clean and Staff congenial and perky, even in the wee hours of the night! Only wish th e draperies werent so dusty when opening. Perhaps Housekeeping could vaccium them more often. We would definetly stay there again. In fact I hope to celebrate my Father's 100th birthday there next year!

The Hills hotel, is always a good choice. The staff are always friendly, the rooms are always clean, it is always resonably priced, and centrally located within orange county. We were disappointed however that although it was "winter" in January and the temp was in the low 80's the pool was not heated. Sometimes having a pool can be the deciding factor […] when choosing a hotel. Not having a heated pool is about the same as not having one at all. Overall the staff there are very nice and helpful. Rooms are very clean and environment is nice too. The only thing is that they do not provide complimentary breakfast in the morning.

the hotel was very unsatisfactory. the toilet was broken and they made us chnage rooms in the middle of the night, they charged us for breakfast when we had coupons. They gave us a hard time about giving us breakfast, were not friendly or empathetic. I would not reccomend or return.

The hotel is in a good area, right off the freeway. Lots of eating options within walking distance. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Room was a little dated but clean...pillows were super comfortable.

Great hotel. The front desk was very helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Just arround the corner is a great Italian/Argentine resturant. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was also very good. Actually we haven't had many stays better than this one, and very many worse.

I own a cleaning service and was very happy with the cleanliness of our room and the general condition of the hotel. The staff volunteered to provide driving directions when I asked where a certain restaurant was and they were always very friendly when I left and returned! Nice hotel rooms, great breakfast

The rooms are comfortable. Not overly plush but worth the value. Hotel is a bit older. Staff is friendly and helpful. Very convenient area. Close to the freeway, shopping, restaurants and entertainment.

The hotel was overall nice,. One thing I didn't like was the bathroom, it needs some updating. The decor was outdated and when you turned on the faucet water in the sink, it splashed everywhere. The towels could be of better quality as well.

Great Staff, comfy beds!

The entry and lobby are nicely appointed. The elevator and hallways in the hotel are in need of an upgrade. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. There is ample parking. On our first morning at the Hills, the restaurant was horrible. We counted 8 tables that needed busing and we waited 20 minutes to order and another 20 before our breakfast arrived. […] All the time we were there, the tables were never cleared. They only do a monthly cleaning as the front desk told me. I woke up the first morning and found a bite the size of a welt on my behind and a few other bites on my legs. I was disgusted, after complaining they changed my bedding which seemed to help. Other then that the beds were comfortable.

We stayed here on a Saturday night because we were in the area for a wedding. We checked in late at night and the front desk staff was funny and very helpful. Our room was a poolview room on the fourth floor. The room was spacious and had a giant bed. The bathroom was nice, nothing fancy. The shower head worked great which is important! I would recommend […] that they change the bathroom lighting to be a bit softer. It had an 80s bright glare light in there that is not very relaxing. The hotel was also very clean. I liked the bar/lounge very much. It had giant flat screen TVs and a nice decor. Although the front desk stated the bar closed at 10PM, it was close to 11PM and she was still serving. She was very nice and walked up to greet us as we entered the lounge. She gave us a nice pour of red. We also had breakfast in the morning and it was tasty. I would definitely recommend and stay here again if i am traveling or in the area. It seems like an older hotel that was remodeled. We stayed at this hotel for a wedding where the reception was being held in their ballroom. The ballroom was beautiful. The room was nothing special they were clean but nothing super nice. The shower seemed old and hard to move the lever to control the temperature. The last morning of our stay I think they were doing maintenance because we could hear […] a lift go up and down outside our window and also heard their workers talking. Much renovation still needs to be done: drapery, some furniture and pool area, fresh paint , etc.. The cleaning help could be a bit more meticulous with the wood cabinets, doors and old windows. But all in all, nice size rooms and pool, good restaurant, coin laundry and good staff. Location close to everything, enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for just two days and it was nice. The front desk personal were very friendly but the pool had no jacuzzi. However for the small length of my stay I would book again if the rates were a bit lower. Had a good time!

While I was aware of the hotel, I never had the need to use the facility until recently. I was very pleased with the room and courtesy of all the employees. I will definitely stay here again if the occassion calls for a hotel in the vacinity. No complaints here, enjoyed a great weekend with the girls at this super cheap, but very nice hotel!

We stayed at this hotel because we needed to be close to Laguna Beach for a wedding, and didn't want to pay beachfront prices. The hotel was very affordable. It is a 3 star hotel, pretty basic, not very new in terms of carpet, altho the website makes it look very well kept. My biggest complaint is this: My husband, daughter and I were in a standard […] room with 2 queen beds. The bed by the window had the air conditioning unit right next to you so that sleeping there was impossible! I suppose if you don't need the air conditioning on it would be ok, but It was literally blowing freezing air right on you like 6 inches away! I was on business and the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and overall it was a great place to stay. The pool is very nice. I just wish they had a spa.

The hotel was convenient for my purpose. The rennovation was primarily done to the exterior and common areas. The rooms themselves was adequate but the wear and tear is evident in the scratches in the wall and cracks in the baseboard. Pleasant room, convenient location, comfortable bed... a bit loud being right off the freeway, but worked perfectly for 2 nights as I worked in the area. Would have liked time to enjoy the pretty pool area.

The bed was extremely comfy, found it hard to get out of bed every morning! Nice large room! Only negative thing was the hotel restaurant food was terrible!

stayed here as a child and i am almost 50, but you wouldnt know it, clean updated and ugraded boutique style hotel, freeway close for the traveler.

We had a wonderful time here at the Hills Hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and great facilties for the handicap. The beds were so comfortable that I had wished I would have brought our truck to sneakl one home! The food in the restaurant was as good of quality as you would get in the finest of restaurants. This hotel use to be an old Holiday Inn that is in desperate need of a makeover! They try to cover up the cracks, smells, and mold by putting up orchids everywhere. Do no stay here! There are so many better choices.
