Holiday Inn Express Stony Brook - South Setauket

Front desk people were very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean and nice and very convenient. Breakfast was good.

This hotel was comfortable for my family of 5. Breakfast was generous, the rooms clean and the pool area clean as well. I'd come back.

Very nice hotel and the price is excellent.

My room was not used at all previously, it had no shower curtain, room smelled of mildew remover. Great staff, great location. Just not a great room.

Room was clean and smelled great, bed a little too soft for me. Bathroom was neat and clean and shower head was adjustable and I was able to make it stronger which I liked! The only problem was the elevator - was working very slow and we almost got stuck on it - we decided to walk up five flights just to make sure we wouldn't have that problem again. Front desk staff were very nice. Didn't care for the pool. Breakfast was OK ( eggs were nasty). Nice place to stay when college searching (close to SUNY STONY BROOK), and they provided a shuttle to/from for free.

Comfort and Convenient

it is simple amazing: the best service I've ever seen, high quality facilities, a nice pool and gym. If you need to come to that area of Stony Brook university - this hotel will your best choice.

room was clean and warm; breakfast was good, pool was warm although we had to request for pool towels which were brought in shortly

The hotel was great. Very accommodating and breakfast was good food!

I travel for business and i am always afraid of surprises, in my stays there have been many, here there were a few but they were good surprises. the breakfast was better then most of the hotels I have stayed at and the shower head was the best I have seen, no regrets here.

Front desk staff was competent, even had our room ready well before check in, much appreciated. Room was clean, comfortable, quiet, with the exception of the cooling unit which blew very loudly and moved the room darkening drapes to the point of enough light to wake us early. Hotel has many nice ammenities, pool, fitness center and a very decent breakfast […] bar, with tea coffee etc. available 24/7. Toilet was broken in room. Bugs were in room. Hotel is inaccessible to rest of town without using taxi. Shuttle service completely unreliable. Complained to manager of hotel who didn't do anything.

Overall the hotel was very nice. We did ask for towels to be brought to our room, which never arrived and the bed was a bit uncomfortable for us after 4 nights(but for those with bad backs any hotel mattress is usually not the greatest). Staff was very helpful, in particular(I think it was Mike) who was night manager made sure everything was going well for us. Very nice.

Arrived on July 20th, and checked into room, very spacious and clean, however the flush on the toilet did not work, was too tired sort it out that night, so reported same the next morning, 'someone' was sent promplty to fix it but after the third time I had to request a move to another room, this took up quite a considerable part of the morning. I […] had paid for the room on hotels.com and yet when my cousin called in person to pay the bill, his credit card was taken and it was just by chance much later after having checked out that I discovered this. My cousin rang for the following 6 days and left messages with the manager with no reply. After day 6 this matter was eventually sorted out.
