"Overpriced and kind of a dump"
The sheets were stained, there was trash on my windowsill, the line at reception was 4 people long upon my arrival, the towels smelled like paint... overall this place was more along the lines of a Days Inn or a Motel 6 in my eyes, and I do not think it was worth what I paid.

"Courtyard by Marriott New Haven/Yale"
The staff was very accomodating-on site parking was a plus. Easy on/off Rt. 95. Walking distance to Yale. Good restaurants in the immediate area. Surrounding area was not very appealing. Overall everything was fine ans would stay again if I'm in the area.

"New Haven Courtyard Marriott"
This place is horrible, stay away at all costs.

This hotel was very Close to the Peabody Museum at Yale so fit into my plans very nicely. The room was in tip top shape and very comfortable. Also my room was behind 2 doors, never had a room that secure before.

We chose this location due to the proximity to Pepe's Pizza where we planned to go for dinner. It was about a mile away. The hotel was a block or two from the Yale campus. My husband made the comment that he had felt more safe walking around NYC at night then in this neighborhood. Parking was provided in the hotel parking lot for $10.

Clean updated room. Great to have access to the internet in the lobby. No free breakfast, but the meal was quick, very good, and generous.

"Convenient to Yale and less desirable places"
I stayed here for business for two days. The street noise from Whalley is significant and I had to turn on the fan to create enough white noise to drown it out. On the second night, I had to call the front desk twice to report someone cursing, hitting the walls with something and talking loudly. Dunno if that is a common occurence of just my good fortune. The […] hotel itself is nice and convenient to the Yale campus. However, it is on the border of a very shady part of town, and there were people dealind in front of the hotel. I was asked for money by more than one person. FWIW, I lived in Chicago for 6 years and have traveled to most of the major cities, so this review isnt coming from a sheltered suburbanite. "Very convenient location"
The hotel was undergoing renovation when we stayed, which is the only reason I gave it a 3 rating for the condition of the hotel. Otherwise, it was in a very convenient location and within walking distance of everything. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. You can never really go wrong with a Marriott.

"Exceeded expectations"
The rooms was very comfortable -- certainly as comfortable as a luxury hotel. Very clean, well decorated, seems like new. And you can't beat the price.

"Basically, this was what I expected from Courtyard"
A decent hotel. A generic one, but meets all the basic needs of the traveler as most Courtyard Inns do. Close to Yale, decent room condition, courteous staff. Price is what you generally pay for the hotels in this tier. So, don't expect any unpleasant surprises. You will see when you try. Hot water in the bathroom takes about a minute to start. All this is rather minor. Most annoying is 5-10 minutes hold time when you call the front desk both from your room or from the outside line. Happened to me a few times, so this was not a one-time fluke. Things like these (hold time, hot water, access to parking) are easy to fix. Therefore, I take one point off my rating despite these things won't make a huge difference for your overall travel experience. "Perfectly fine except for traffic noise"
This hotel was just as I expected for a Courtyard by Marriott--they tend to be pretty similar. My only complaint was that even on the 6th floor, the traffic noise was loud enough to keep me awake at night. It sounded like the cars were 10 feet from my window. While the Courtyard by Marriott New Haven was located right by Yale University, it is also on the border of a really scary part of town. My daughter and I were getting gas directly across the street, and felt unsafe. The hotel itself was perfect for our needs, very clean, had all the amenities we needed. "Nearly forgettable"
While fairly clean, this hotel was not up to the usual courtyard standard. The staff does the best they can, I would say. Very close to Yale, and you def get the flavor of the edgier end of a college neighborhood. Parking was a little confusing, and this was certainly exacerbated by incorrect signage. ("Yeah, we should change that sign.")
"Great Staff"
The reception staff at this hotel was great. We arrived much earlier than the check in time, they found that the room was ready and let us check in without waiting. When we left, they called a cab for us promptly and were very courteous and smiley.

"Nähe Yale Universität"
Ideal um New Haven zu erkunden. Die wichtigsten historischen Punkte waren fußläufig erreichbar wie auch eine gute Auswahl an Restaurants. Wir würden dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.
