Sheraton Austin at the Capitol - ออสติน

This Sheraton is a beautiful hotel and is in a great central location. On nearly every evaluative account, it would be rated very high. However, when I went to my room around 10 p.m. (exhausted after a long day of travel and business meetings), I only wanted to read a bit before turning out the lights. To my dismay, loud music was heard Iwith a heavy […] thump-thump-thump beat) - it was so loud that I could hear everything - much too loud for music in my room, had I been listening to music. You know the picture - it was so loud and booming I couldn't read. Turning out the light and going to sleep was out of the question. I called to the front desk and the attendant sharply said, "That music isn't coming from the hotel." The attitude and sharp response bothered me. I wasn't asking where the music was coming from. I couldn't understand why the City of Austin had no enforceable noise ordinances. The attendant was rude and didn't seem to care about my concerns. She added curtly, "It should end around midnight, so then you can get to sleep." Needless to say, my blood pressure was rising at this point. I would have appreciated being told that the side of the building my room was on had exposure to such loud music; I would have requested the other side. Friends travelling with me were on the other side and they didn't hear a thing. I ended up getting to sleep around 12:45 - and will never stay at this hotel again. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

I chose this hotel based on location and generally favorable reviews. I was very disappointed by the poor level of service and indifferent attititude of most of the staff. On check in I did not get the type of room I had reserved (and already paid for), and when I pointed out the discrepancy they were more irritated than apologetic. The breakfast buffet […] was nice but I finished the meal with seconds before anyone offered coffee. Most of the treadmills in their gym were not working properly, and none were hooked up to cable. The towel dispensers in the gym bathroom didn't work, and the toilets didn't flush properly [gross]. I watch two different housekeepers walk by trash on the floor without picking it up. Will definitely be staying here again.

Not a great value. This Hotel charges $16 per night for parking, $10 per day for internet, $3.50 for a bottle of water. Also the concierge was never available/on duty and the gift shop was never open (for coffee, cheaper snack etc.) The room service came at 5:00 on two days and took forever once they were in the room. Beautiful new hotel. Staff was very friendly. Great location for buses to downtown and U of Tx. (or a doable long walk). Best pool ever. A few places to eat around but not many. Would definately recommend and stay there again.

A/c wasn't working when we arrived but it was taken care of ,but it took awhile to cool off

The hotel was okay; nothing super fantastic. But it was conveniently located to our site seeing. For the price, could be better - location gets it a couple extra points though. I might try another hotel next time, but if we had to, I could stay there again.

We picked the wrong hotel for the location we needed to be in, but all in all had a fine stay. The hotel is nicely appointed in the public rooms and bedrooms and the atmosphere is good. Service is excellent. The only downside is that the bathroom wasn't exactly clean, but not grimy.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton. Easy access to the highway as well as walking distance to sixth street. The food was excellent and our room had a great view. We will definitely stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay at the Sheraton for the most part. FYI Parking is extra, the bottled water in the room is extra, but the coffee was free. I didn't bring my laptop so I'm not sure if internet is extra or not. The room didn't seem to get cold. Past hotels I've stayed at you had to be careful not to freeze yourself.

Great hotel to stay at if you anything going on in downtown Austin. The staff was extremely helpfull with anything we needed with the exception of the lady running the breakfast buffett, it seemed it was way over her head. But other then that great hotel.

The hotel was clean, nice and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. We had breakfast included and it was a buffet: eggs, bacon, french toast, fresh fruit, pastries and a pot of coffee at your table. It was perfect for my stay, which was a long weekend trip to Austin. A 5-10 minute walk to the heart of downtown. It was a good starting and […] ending point and we walked everywhere. I recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, good hotel with good service. And for convenience, I recommend the breakfast too, any brunch places would have been at least a 10 min walk and it meant we didn't have to rush anywhere in the morning. อ่านเพิ่มเติม

Great location, but room smaller than expected, kind of cramped for (3) adults, overall good service, clean, well maintained and updated.

I wish I had heeded the warning of other reviews, but I thought they were exaggerated. THEY AREN'T! Don't go to this hotel. Terrible maid service in the room, bad "Sheraton" smell throughout the hotel giving us a headache, cold breakfast served with missing butter and only part of the order - yikes! They were very nice to and accepting of my cat. I was just disappointed that wifi internet was an additional charge and not included.

Wonderful hotel and convenient to the Capital, Red River, and 6th Street. Also, 1 or 2 blocks away from good restaurant's like Franklin's BBQ, and Serranes. The bellman, Mike, was great! I totally recommend.

The hotel would have been fine had it not been for the paper thin wills and the noise emanating from other rooms. Our entire stay, we heard guests in other rooms. Numerous guests repeatedly called security (I heard/saw secrutiy come up several times), and other guests knocked on the doors of those making so much noise to help address the ongoing issues. […] The noise was non-stop, and the hotel never resolved them. I could hear other guests' conversations as if they were in the same room. Definitely will NOT stay here again. We got absolutely no rest so would have been better off driving to Austin and driving back the same day vs. staying the entire weekend - or staying at a more remote hotel, paying $400 and getting no rest. Room reserved was not available at check-in, coffee grounds not cleaned from previous guest, internet access rates are high. Good location and speedy room service. Not the greatest value for the money.

My room was a bit small for the two beds. Upon checking in, there was no facial tissue, but guest services promptly brought it after I made the request. My only complaint was loud talking by guests in the elevator area during sleeping hours.

Convenient location, friendly staff, very nice inside and has a great breakfast buffet if you buy breakfast with your room reservation.

Perfect location, we were able to walk to all the spots on our list! I was very impressed with the fitness area and the breakfast buffet was better then we expected. We will definitely return.

This hotel was very convenient to where our show was. Across the street was a great Tex Mex restaurant called Serrano's. After dinner, just a quick 5-10 minute walk to the Erwin Center. I can not say enough about my disappointment in this hotel. I will describe in order of occurrence: 1) they were unable to provide us with adjoining rooms in our party despite booking the rooms well in advance, 2) our party of 6 sat down for a dinner meal at the on site restaurant. On a Friday night, there was only one waitress for the many tables being […] served, so while we were served GOOD food, we waited a good 45 minutes to eat. 3) The bed sheets did not fit the beds- this was a VERY BASIC issue. The Full sized beds were equipped with what appeared to be fitted Queen or King sized sheets which were then folded underneath. Also, there was a flat mattress pad that was a good 1 foot longer than the bed. We had to have a member of the housekeeping staff re-make one of the beds upon arrival because it was so messy with sheets, mattress pad and comforters all over the place before the sheets were even turned down. However, after comparing this bed to the others in our party, they were all very similar and we learned that ALL of the beds in the hotel were fitted with oversized sheets. Mattresses were very uncomfortable. Additionally, one of the beds had a ply-wood bottom...the normal box spring was gone and was re-fitted with ply-wood. There was a gaping wide open hole on the bottom of the mattress. Frightening considering the risk for BED BUGS these days although I saw no signs of them. 4) Our "breakfast" was not delivered on time...it was only about 5 minutes later than promised, however, they did "guarantee" on time within a 15 minute window (which they failed to do), or the breakfast was free, 5) "Starbucks Coffee" was advertised as being offered at the downstairs cafe. Upon reaching the downstairs at 7am, I learned that they only sold select beverages AND the machine used to make them was broken...they only had a pot of traditional starbucks coffee available. The hotel is located in a fantastic place. The parking situation is interesting if you have to park on the roof, including some steps that are near impossible to find. Our room had a broken vent fan in the bathroom and the lights in there were weak. The door that goes to the room next door had a broken lock, so the folks next door could have come on […] over any time and stolen our things. When I told the front desk agent this upon departure she didn't seem very concerned. I would have expected a little more concern about this issue. Over all the room was clean, but missing key things like a room service menu. Which I then requested and it took an hour for someone to get it up to our room. That resulted in not being able to order from a regular dinner menu, in turn not ordering anything. For the amount that the room cost I think that it was not worth it. The bed was comfy and the pillows rocked but worrying that someone might come in in the middle of the night from the room next door did not make for a good night's sleep. อ่านเพิ่มเติม
